Welcome to Kawama Yacht Club, a Tropical Oceanside Resort in the heart of the Florida Keys (Oceanside Key Largo at Mile Marker 100, one hour from Miami) located at the southern oceanside border of John Pennekamp State Underwater park, which offers an underwater wonder including the only living corrals in the United States. Kawama Yacht Club is near to all of Key Largo's popular restaurants, shops, fishing and diving charters, and you can swim with the dolphins at walking distance from the resort. Kawama Yacht Club is a Tropical Resort that offers a myriad of amenities including a sandy beach with private beach with BBQ grills, two pools, a salt water swimming lagoon, a marina, tennis courts, a fishing jetty, and much more.

You will experience complete comfort and relaxation in a two story townhouse, which includes two bedrooms and two baths, a full kitchen, family room, cable TV, and washer and dryer. The host was very attentive, responding immediately to questions. The property is beautiful, apparently newly and very tastefully redone and decorated with all new appliances and tasteful decorations. The location is great, very close to the pool.

Just The Perfect Place for Us

Pristine clean, great location in the complex, TV in each room, kitchen has all that anyone needs, loved washer and dryer in unit. Highly recommend.

Key Largo trip

The property was exactly as pictured, beautifully updated. One suggestion would be to provide more seating, the one sofa is not enough for a family of four to relax after a busy day exploring the keys. The lagoon was awesome, my kids loved it. This was a great place to stay for a fun trip to Key Largo.

Great getaway

Pleasant stay with amazing weather. Loved having the pool nearby and walking to the point to see the sunset. Comfortable beach area where we spent reading and conversing. We could not swim there but that we could go to the pool.

Relax and Enjoy

Very nice! Enjoyed our stay in this unit. Pool right outside our door, lagoon just a few steps away, along with the marina / pier just a few minutes away. Enjoyed sunrise and sunsets. Many good restaurants in the area. Clean unit and clean resort area.

Exactly as described

Clean, comfortable unit in a nice community. Great communication from the host. We took advantage of the pool and the sunset point. The community is well-maintained, and the unit is exactly as described in the listing. Will definitely seek out this unit when visiting the area in the future.

Relaxing get away

Very nice and clean. Good sized kitchen and living room areas with screened in porches to enjoy as well. Easy drive to many great restaurants and stores. Great access to the pool and play areas. Friendly, low key setting. Great master bedroom with view of the pool. Second room with twin beds more suited to kids or teens than tall adults. But overall, great place! We would go again!

On a lagoon

Clean and nicely decorated. The units are situated on a loaf ion full of amazing subtropical fish. Great location!

Good Location for Traveling

The location in reference to Florida’s national and state parks was good. The place was clean and the communication with property manager was good. The on-property lagoon and pool were great. However, the “private beach” is not the best. I would not stay here if you are wanting beach access. If you plan to sit around the pool, it is a great location. However, bring bug spray if you are going in March.

Family visit in Key Largo

Unit was very clean but dated. The only real complaint I have is that the Master bedroom television only showed a 1980’s sitcom. The Lagoon and proximity to the jetty were nice additions

It was a great R&R week. Perfect location across from a beautiful pool area. Our favorite part. Close to groceries, shopping and dining. Amy question or concern the property manager was prompt answering our question.

A great stay

This property isn't fancy, but it was comfortable and had a great, central Key Largo location. We enjoyed the pool and beach and slept comfortably each night. I would rent again.

Great place!

I received a notification thru VRBO about how to check in before we even left home. I really appreciated that. We were given key code and directions. When we arrived at the secured community check point we were greeted by a friendly helpful attendant. They directed us where to go and gave directions for getting in to the park for the days to come. We communicated via email a couple of times with questions and they got back to us very quickly. Upon arrival we found our townhouse to be very clean and well stocked with everything we needed. The pool could be seen from our front door and was just a few steps away. It is located within several different hotspots to visit. We rented a boat from John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park. It was literally just an 8 minute drive. We enjoyed Kingdom Escape room, and the FL Keys History & Discovery Museum. We really enjoyed our stay. We will definitely come back again.

Good for kids

The property was nice, with no nearby busy roads, a nice pool, and a saltwater pond on the grounds. Kids will enjoy feeding the iguanas and fish in the pond. Easy access to Key Largo amenities. Owner is conscientious and responsive. There is a steep stairway near the bathroom door, so it’s useful to pack a nightlight.

Great central location

We used this as our home base to travel north to the Everglades and south to Key West. It is just a few miles from the supermarket and restaurants. The place was clean though not as many amenities as other properties in the community -- i.e., no patio ceiling fan, no kayaks and it would be helpful to have some instructions / general overview from the owner -- but overall a nice property for a family getaway.

Great location for families

The unit was clean upon arrival and the beds were comfortable. The kitchen had the things we needed. The only thing we had trouble with was the screen door not closing properly from the screened in porch. We just did not use it. The space was adequate for my family of four and we loved the saltwater lagoon, warm pools, and walking to the fishing jetty at sunset. We all had a wonderful time staying here.

We had a great stay at Kawama and will recommend it to others. Host was responsive when I messaged about checkin instructions. B1 - The location was perfect, huge salt water pool steps from the back lanai. Condo was large for our family of 4 and we had plenty of space to spread out. Kitchen was well appointed with all necessary appliances, but could use a cucumber peeler and baking sheet. Refrigerator and dishwasher appear to be new. The upstairs bedroom slider lock latch is broken due to weather exposure but we did not see this as an issue as it is not possible for anyone to get into the room on the second floor. We felt very safe at this resort, it is gated and grounds are very well kept. The condo was clean and nicely decorated. We did leave a beach umbrella and pool noodles for future guests. The beach at resort is not a typical sandy beach, but we expected this and it was not a negative as there are other beaches within a few minutes drive. The jetty was a perfect place to see the sunset and lots of chairs/tables with grills to use next to the jetty. Tons of restaurants, grocery store and activities very close by. Staff at the front of the resort was so friendly and welcoming as were other vacationers/owners that we came in contact with. This was exactly what we needed to escape the cold and relax during the ongoing pandemic. Thank you for a great experience!

Great location for a laid back vacation

The property was clean, well-maintained, and very comfortable with a GREAT location: steps from the pool, a short walk to the pier, and a short drive to everything in Key Largo. The owner was friendly, laid back, and extremely accommodating. Communication with him was easy. Unlike other rentals we’ve used in the past, there weren’t dozens and dozens of “rules” to worry about. We certainly didn’t disrespect the property and tried to “leave it better than we found it,” but it was nice to see our common sense respected. Thanks to Santiago and VRBO for making our week-long trip to the Keys fun and memorable.

BEST 60th Birthday vacation!!

kawama is one of the few ocean side communities in key largo. Nestled in privacy while also located in the center of downtown key largo, where you can walk to restaurants. Its amenities are unlike any others. It is really a beautiful place to vacation.
