Wonderful home!
The view and central location make this a property that can't be beat. Quiet, comfortable, and cozy all describe this home. The kitchen was well-stocked and the abundance of firewood a treat. This home provided us with a great landing spot between our island adventures, and our teens especially enjoyed having spaces to read, paint, and relax. We didn't turn on the TV once during our week together! The home has a few quirks, but overall nothing to really complain about.

cozy forest getaway, with view
Comfortable, attractive spot offering coziness and privacy, along with gorgeous Lopez Sound view from up among the trees on the cliffside. Location perfect as homebase for exploring the island. Very comfortable bed in upper bedroom. Kitchen had just about everything we needed. Lovely wood-burning stove (and plenty of wood). We were there during planned power outages at night; owner provided us with candles, flashlight. Lovely outer deck facing the water, great for morning coffee/stretching. Matt was very helpful, and easy to communicate with.

Over the top
The perfect place to stay on Lopez! All the gorgeous craftmanship and views of the water through the trees. Peaceful, restful lil gem! Thanks to a very communicative and responsive host Matt who clearly loves this island and gave us a lot of tips to explore and experience. However, it was hard to leave the beautiful deck! We hope to be back someday soon!

A little piece of paradise on Lopez Island
What a view! This little gem tucked down a windy road past sheep grazing in a field was the perfect place to stay while we were on Lopez to attend family wedding. You feel like you’re up in trees and The views through the windows overlooking the water and back deck were spectacular. Thanks for a nice stay

I am a long-time traveler and property manager originally from California. I came to the San Juan Islands in the early 2000's to enjoy the abundance of nature, fishing, scenery and community lifestyle that are unique to the San Juan's. I love getting to know my guests and helping them explore all the wonderful places and events I have come to know as home.

Why they chose this property

There is something magical about the San Juan's, and Lopez Island in particular. People say Lopez is stuck in time, and we like it that way. Step back in time in this oasis from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Enjoy the sunrise with a coffee on the deck, and keep your eyes peeled for eagles, whales, otters and seals. Or use my home as a jumping off point for world-class fishing, clamming, crabbing, whale-watching, hiking or simply further exploring the beauty of the San Juan Islands.

I have always wanted to live on the water and I enjoy the outdoors and the ocean. I want to be able to share the experience of nature and provide a memorable time for my guests.

What makes this property unique

Watch eagles fly by while in bed, wake up to a sunrise, catch crab, and clams and eat the same night, feel and see the islands wild with no development in view. Watch sailboats and the ferry go by, watch otters play, roast marshmallows in the fire pit, play musical instruments provided, meditate on the beauty.
