Private Oasis on the Beautiful Willamette River

Enjoy comfort and privacy in this ground level beautiful oasis and enjoy all that Portland has to offer! Beautiful, private, cozy and comfortable with all the amenities including a fully stocked kitchen, plush towels and linens, spa robes, beach towels and washer/dryer. Walking distance to Milwaukie's Farmers market, shops and restaurants. Minutes to many local breweries and restaurants galore. Beautiful cedar hot soaking tub right on the riverbank beneath a stunning one-hundred-year-old weeping willow tree. Enjoy a gorgeous amber gas fire pit next to the hot tub. Your host Sara lives in this home when it is not rented, in the upstairs section, adjacent to the ground floor rental space. Your space is completely private. - all yours, including the entire yard.

You have a private deck, large hot tub right on the riverbank, two outdoor grills and several lovely seating areas, as well as full access to the entire beautiful grounds. Kayaks and SUPs provided - launch from the riverbank right here.
In the summer you also have a private beach. On-site Massage and/or Facials are an option, and must be pre-booked prior to your stay. If you are interested, please let us know in advance.

Keurig Coffee & Treats are supplied with your stay as well as Chocolates on your bed. Your main bed is open studio-style and located right next to a natural wood-burning fireplace. looking out to the beautiful Willamette River view through large windows which adjoining the living room. The main full bath has both a shower and a bath tub. The decor is very romantic and soothing.

This home is nestled within a quiet, friendly neighborhood located just a short drive to downtown Portland (12 min.), and the heart of Sellwood-Moreland (3 min.) with nearby freeway entry allowing for convenient access to the airport (20 min.). Mass transit is just a few blocks away, making travel without a car a breeze! The MAX stop is walking distance and will take you to downtown Portland in a 20 minute scenic ride. Travel to and from the airport is also a breeze.

The Portland area abounds with wineries and we are only 20 minutes from the North Willamette Valley and Dundee Hills wine country.

Enjoy the nearby Milwaukie & Moreland Theaters, Milwaukie Farmer’s Market (on Sundays), Portland Saturday Market, Oaks Park, New Seasons Market, Fred Meyers, Saburo's Sushi, Jade Thai, Ginos Italian, Portofino Italian, ChaChaCha Mexican Taqueria, and a variety of restaurants including brew pubs, coffee shops, family-friendly and fine dining. Downtown Portland is only 12 minutes away and a few must-go-to restaurants are Jakes Famous Crawfish (A Portland classic! Try the Dungeness Crab Leg Saute'!) and Portland City Grill for an amazing view of the city and fabulous food and ambience.

Hop on the freeway and be at Multnomah Falls and beautiful hiking in the Gorge in only 40 minutes.

Go another 30 minutes and you will be in Hood River, windsurfing capital of the world. Enjoy wineries, see the windsurfers and kite boarders, do the Fruit Loop, eat, drink and be merry ~ they have quaint bistros, fabulous dining and numerous festivals.

For mountain enthusiasts, Mt. Hood's Government Camp is only 1 hour 11 minutes from our home, (or continue on from Hood River and be there in 30 more minutes) where you will find SkiBowl, Timberline Lodge, Mt. Hood Meadows ski resort, lake and river fishing, hiking, and much more. Take the Mt. Hood Scenic Byway for a very full day!

*Note: This is a gorgeous property, and I get numerous requests for holding events here such as weddings, family reunions, etc., however, we are in a neighborhood and must be respectful of our neighbors, so the city will not allow events. Small gatherings are OK as well as photo shoots with pre-approval. If you are wondering if your idea or gathering is considered an "event" please ask, it is possible that we can work something out.

As a VRBO host myself I feel there are a few things that could be better maintained. I’ll just lists the pros and cons. Pros: Beautiful scenic view from inside and out, great location to walk to restaurants & activities, lots of seating inside and out, off street parking, main bed in living room area was comfortable, good selection of board games, good quality toilet paper. Cons: Shower curtain had a lot of mold on it, tub shower situation very awkward and hard to get into, lots of cobwebs on deck porch entry way, cushions outside are very old and weathered with mold spots from getting wet every time sprinklers come on and are hard to dry for use. I’m not familiar with the type of hot tub but it did have green algae and we just didn’t feel it comfortable using it, towels had a sour smell when wet as well as the kitchen sponge which we had no replacement for, we were unable to locate the arcade mentioned in the property highlights, some yard games would have been nice.The house inside definitely needed a good thorough cleaning there was lots of cobwebs inside as well. Overall our stay was okay.

This is an excellent property! Beautiful setup! Great river front property. They supplied paddle boats, canoes and offered the use of a boat if needed. It is a property that provides everything that you need. Hotbut, three fire pits, gas grill and charcoal grill. The property owner also offers access to spa experiences so you have the complete relaxing experience. The view is amazing and breathtaking views of the river and Million dollar homes on the other side of the river! We are talking about homes with over 8,000 sq ft of living space. It reminds me of the homes on Lake Geneva in Wisconsin!The host is awesome and very accommodating. The property has five different outdoor sitting areas.There is a Fred Meyer’s store is about 3 miles away and the famous Voodoo Donut shop is about 3 miles away!!! So of course we had to grab a dozen of them for the week!Great experience, great host, great property, and great price!!! We will definitely keep this as our first option whenever we return to Portland area! We have a party of five and had plenty of space to relax and to entertain. We did s’more and wine at the fire pit in the evening.I promise you will not be disappointed with this spacious cabin like rear privacy unit! We were on the river everyday! We woke up early to see the sunrise and laid out by the river during sun down! Postcard like views!Sara, is a fantastic host!

While this listing is crafted so that it appears to be for a house, it is actually a lower level apartment. It’s dark inside and the river view is overgrown by the landscaping (we could not see kids at the water from inside the unit). The host lives above the rental and we could hear them walking around. The host states that they leave the property when guests are staying but I can’t confirm. The driveway is shared with the host and has a number of vesicles and an RV parked in it. The photos of the yard are older and don’t reflect the current wear and tear on the landscaping. It also appears that, like many in Oregon, they don’t water the lawn so in summer it becomes weedy and dry (not like in pictures - bad for playing, good for bees). Patio furniture is warn and there was a dirty sun bleached indoor sofa (not patio furniture) on the deck. The hot tub was not heated or fully covered and therefore dirty when we arrived.Full disclosure- after seeing the place in person we decided we could not stay at this listing. The host disagreed and felt that claiming the unit is a “house” (instead of apartment or guest house) and “entire home” was acceptable and not misleading. They argue it’s a duplex. To us, that wasn’t at all obvious from the listing at the time of our booking. Hopefully this review will help you determine if this is the place for you and decide if these are the kind of people you want to give your money to. Us guests need to stick together

Thank you for taking the time to share your review. We’re sorry to hear that your stay did not meet your expectations, but we’d like to clarify a few points for future guests. The VRBO rental portion of the home is located at ground level and has large windows overlooking the river, which provide abundant natural light. It sounds as though the blinds may have been drawn during your stay, which would significantly change the brightness of the space. The host lives in the home when it is not being rented and happened to be leaving as you arrived early. We understand that seeing the host may have been unexpected, but the rental is a private, designated portion of the home. The landscape and views naturally change throughout the year, particularly here in the beautiful Pacific Northwest, where we experience four distinct seasons. Although the property is extensively irrigated and we work very hard to maintain the landscaping year-round, by late summer lawns throughout the region naturally begin to lose some of their green color. The hot tub is natural-gas heated and warms very quickly with the push of the jets button. It is cleaned and treated before every guest stay. The cover is intentionally lightweight to make it easier and more convenient for guests to remove. Regarding the outdoor furniture, the couch and loveseat chair on the deck do show some sun fading because they receive afternoon sun. They are otherwise protected from the elements. We have kept them because they are exceptionally comfortable, and many guests have specifically commented that they are much more comfortable than typical patio furniture. There is also plenty of additional patio furniture located throughout the yard. Finally, as with most vacation rental homes, guests do not have access to every room in the house. The rental space is clearly designated, and we’re sorry if this was not what you expected. We truly appreciate your feedback and are always looking for ways to improve the guest experience. We’re sorry we were not able to provide the stay you had hoped for.

The property is beautiful!! The view and backyard alone is worth the stay. We were able to have a great wedding weekend and the house was very accessible/amenable to even have grandparents join us to help babysit a toddler and a baby for the actual wedding evening. Also, we were able to walk to a playground and nature trails just down the street. It was an easy drive to downtown.

Fantastic location and property! It had everything we needed and more. We used the fire pit, the hot tub and the SUP and Kayaks. We would definitely come again. The only thing I was unaware of was that was the downstairs portion of the owner's house. I thought I had filtered for whole house. But the owner was lovely and helpful.

Perfect stay-cation

Perfect “stay-cation” during pandemic. Sara very responsive to all our needs. Beautiful spot! Couldn’t ask for more, especially at the price!

Living on the river is a dream. It is so beautiful, private and quiet, yet only minutes from the city. Your host Sara lives in this home when it is not rented, in the upstairs section, adjacent to the ground floor rental space.

Feel completely away from it all, yet be only 3 minutes from the hip Sellwood district and only 12 minutes from the city! Walk to the new MAX rail for easy commuting.
Beautiful large hot tub right on the riverbank under a beautiful one-hundred-year-old weeping willow tree is complimentary with your stay. Please note: The hot tub is out of commission in October, November, December and January.
Keurig coffee & treats are supplied with your stay as well as chocolates on your bed. Your main bed is located right next to a natural wood-burning fireplace and looks out to the beautiful view through large windows. You have a private deck with a grill and lovely seating area. The suite has a washer/dryer. The bath has a shower and a bath tub. The decor is very romantic and soothing.
