About this property
A New Port Richey Mid Century Modern Restored Treasure-Old Florida-This is it!
Nestled in close walking distance to downtown New Port Richey, this Mid Century Modern Gem has been fully restored and tastefully renovated in all the right places . The restored terrazzo floors and plaster walls remain cool all summer. Central air and heat will keep you comfortable during your stay. This home was a builder's home for much of its life and his attention to details remain. The hand-made MCM birch kitchen cabinets and expansive hallway cabinets have been fully restored. We worked hard to restore the home by following the intent of the original 1960s design concepts and functionality.
The 1960s landscaping, front entry way and covered carport welcome you to this home. The carport, with a tongue and groove wood ceiling, provides for covered parking and provides for an additional access to the kitchen and laundry room. Behind the front, glass, storm door you access the front living area that is comfortably appointed and has a 55 inch smart/streaming TV. The home is cozy, comfortable and has been tastefully decorated following the 1960s design and theme. With two bedrooms and two full bathrooms this home offers plenty of room and storage for it's size. The front bedroom offers an king bed, smart/streaming TV, dresser and full closet. The back bedroom offers a queen bed with dresser and closet. There is a two seat island in the fully stocked kitchen and an inside dining area that seats four comfortably. Outside, is an exterior dining area that seats five, a gas grill for a back yard BBQ and a firepit with four Adirondack chairs to visit with friends and plan your travel plans while taking the chill out of those Florida winter evenings.
Our home is a quick walk to downtown New Port Richey. Here you will find cafes, restaurants, boutiques, breweries and the river walk area along Sims Park. The crown jewel of downtown is the restored1920s Hacienda Hotel and the nearby Orange Lake. Sims park has a wonderful covered playground, exterior amphitheater stage for shows and concerts, and an outside exercise area and small water park. Main street offers access to a great variety of restaurants, breweries, outdoor markets, shops, with many interesting things to do and the theater. The New Port Richey Recreation and Aquatics Center is also close to downtown.
There are a multitude of small parks in close proximity to the area. Sims Park, Starkey Preserve Park, Green Key Beech, James E. Gray Preserve, Francis Avenue Park and Howard Park in Tarpon Springs all offer a variety of things to do. Like hiking, swimming, boating, kayaking and just plain ole relaxing. We are centrally located to many attractions on the Gulf Coast. Weeki Wachee and Homassa Springs to the north. With Tarpon Springs, Dunedin and Clearwater to the south. Less than an hour to Tampa International Airport, Bush Gardens and downtown Tampa. Ninety miles to the Disney Parks and hotels. The are many day trips that could be launched from this house.
Nostalgic for the simple beach life? This is it! Located in New Port Richey, 5 min. from downtown to shopping, fabulous restaurants and breweries, Sim's Park that have boat and kayak launches to the river and Gulf of Mexico.
Come and visit historic New Port Richey. It was known as the "Hollywood East" during the 1920s for its many rich and famous residents. Make your own history here.
Please do not miss out on the abundance of food, drink, music, shopping and entertainment options that await you in New Port Richey, Florida. Please book your stay now and experience a memorable and enjoyable getaway.
