We didn’t ski but cute place. It’s of stairs but the cabin and view make up for it!

Very beautiful scenery all around the property. The cabin had a lot of great character and was close to the downtown area. Short distance to Beech and Sugar mountain which was nice to visit.
Friends and I celebrated my boyfriend's birthday here. The cabin was as expected from the pictures. It was nice and clean, somewhat secluded, the views were great, and it was very relaxing. It was very close to the Beech Mountain tubing and not far from the Alpine Coaster, which we took advantage of. Booking was very easy, and the host was very timely with messages. Would definitely recommend and would stay here again.
The treehouse was wonderful. It has a nice rustic feel and great views. The host was very responsive. We overlooked that the unit doesn't have AC but once we opened the windows, the cabin was nice and cool.
Great experince for my wife and I first year wedding anniversary. Outstanding! Spent the whole Saturday in the treehouse enjoying the views from the wrap around deck. Awesome!
That’s it, just one word, phenomenal. This property is truly a gem. A one of a kind unique cabin. It’s obvious the owners put their heart and soul into this exceptional property.
Amazing home with great porch to enjoy! Very easy check-in and not overly complicated to get to. We loved our time here! The only thing that took any effort was staying cool, but overall the house was shaded and allowed for a great crosswind during the day. Temps were unusually high, so I would suspect it to be negligible for future guests!
Thanks for the stay!
The house was beautiful! Even though it’s one big, gigantic two story “room”, there is still plenty of privacy! Breathtaking is the only words to describe the view! Just remember it IS a Treehouse….Lots of steps! Host was amazing with the million questions I asked him!
Our stay at the ‘Treehouse’ in Banner Elk, NC, was absolutely delightful. The space was immaculate, offering breathtaking views and stunning sunsets that made each evening memorable. The attention to detail in cleanliness was evident, contributing to a truly relaxing experience. Billy, the host, was exceptional—responsive and attentive to any questions or needs we had. We look forward to returning soon. If you're seeking a perfect mountain retreat, this place is awesome! Andrew (Charleston,SC)

NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART! Seriously, you need to climb 49 steps to get to the front door. The pictures show a lower entrance, but it is NOT part of the cabin. Anyone who is not physically fit, or has a heart condition should not consider this place. There are other issues to list, but if you have an emergency, there is no cell service. Good Luck.

Response from VrboOwner on 1 September 2025
Clearly this review is an outlier. Being the first non 5 star review we've received, I feel compelled to respond:
These guests seemed confused and arrived angry with VRBO because they believed VRBO led them to mistake our property with a similarly named property in MAINE, causing them to fear credit card fraud.
Our property description clearly states, "Pack light...there are more than 40 steps up to the Treehouse". In addition to the description, the pictures clearly show a treehouse, perched atop a wooded mountain ridge, far below the photographer. The high, wooded location is what makes the home unique and special. But no, it's not a good choice for those with heart conditions.
As for cell coverage, that's an issue throughout the Blue Ridge Mountains. We offer complimentary 5G internet connectivity. I texted and even called the guests, instructing them to turn on the "Enable WIFI Calling" function on their phone, which they apparently didn't do, even though they said they understood how to do that.
I wish these folks the very best, but I believe their review is particularly misleading and unfair. It's obviously an outlier when compared to all others.
Spectacular, beautiful home that feels like you’re in a treehouse. Great views, comfortable beds, warm duvets, steam shower. Windows open easy to let in cool air in summer- temps in the 70s in July up here. The beds at top are in the same room with curtains for some privacy, as is the bed on main floor in the living area, but for a small family that was excellent! Loved waking up to the views and greenery everywhere. The steps up are difficult to get to. This is NOT in Eagle’s Nest community. That neighborhood is next street, so that was confusing since listed as model home. We love this place! Google maps make sure it’s set to Banner Elk.
