We look to learn and improve after every guest stay. Your review helps us assess your experiences. I am sorry you felt you were treated rudely. That was not my intention. During our post stay communication, I had to explain why you were charged for extra cleaning. You explained that access to the locked linen closet was our fault and we disagreed. It is unfortunate that you deemed that rude and gave a 1-star review. This is my home and I take great pride in its cleanliness, amenities and strive to make it a good place to vacation. Your review is inconsistent with all the other reviews. In response, our cleaning service team arrived on the same day of departure. Unfortunately, the bathroom window was left wide open. The cleaner shut the window upon arrival as a strong rainstorm was blowing a significant amount of rainwater through the open window across the floor and walls. It required extra time to mop up and dry. I have this on video and offered to share. As I stated during our communication, you were assessed $50 for extra cleaning for the mop-up and bathroom drying, excessive linens wash & dry, and $10 for a lost wristband from the owner’s linen closet. That being said, for 6 adults (4-night stay) you used 18 bath towels, 12 hand towels, 11 washcloths, 6 dish towels, and 6 makeup towels. These are the reasons for the $50 charge. I wanted to address additional feedback. You correctly noted that there is no signage on the locked closet. I will add a do not enter sign and a new lock on to ensure closed access. I understand not being able to use the ceiling fan is frustrating, but it does function well. The light and fan switch is on the wall adjacent to the bed and closet. I will add a label to ensure the best visibility of the switches. We also provide a free-standing fan in a closet. I appreciate that feedback. As for beach towels, you received 2-beach towels as an arrival gift. The Amenities section states very clearly that we do not provide beach towels for each guest and felt this was a nice surprise when you arrived. In addition, you stated a lack of soaps and condiments to cook. We provide a nice Starter Kit: 2 rolls of toilet paper for each bathroom, full size paper towels, a cleaning sponge, 2 trash bags, 2 dishwasher packs, dish soap and hand soap for bath. We also left 3-small bars of soap in each bathroom and 2-packs of laundry detergent. As far as condiments to cook, We do not provide them for health concerns. Again, we are sorry that you were not happy with your stay. We do leave our personal emails and phone numbers for anyone to contact us during the stay to respond to concerns and answer any questions.
