The house was clean and welcoming. The beds were comfortable and they provided everything needed. The pool was hot and lovely. It’s an incredibly location! The host was easy to talk with and accommodating! Wonderful experience!
We are so happy to hear you all enjoyed the home and local area. What great photos! We would love to host you all again in the future! Cheers, The R & R Co.
Great location in walking distance to restaurants, bars and tourist sites. Plenty of space for a large group. It can be noisy being on a busy street and right next to a club but they have sound machines available in the rooms.
This house exceeded our expectations and the communication with the property manager was easy, efficient, and helpful. We had a blast and would definitely stay here again.

This was the perfect stay for a group of friends to celebrate a birthday! The house was exactly as the listing depicted and the pool was perfect! Great location and while there is construction happening on the street it was still a wonderful trip.

Thanks Casey! It's wonderful to hear 194 St Philip Street was the perfect spot for a birthday celebration! We hope to host you again soon! Cheers, the Team at Guesthouse Charleston
Nice location, convenient to get around Charleston. Well stocked kitchen as far as utensils, dishes, etc. Very disappointed with the pool - it looks nothing like the pictures in the listing. The color of the pool finish is very dark, making the water very uninviting.

Thank you for taking the time to review your stay with us! The darker gunite finish is meant to keep the pool cooler on Charleston’s hot summer days, and with the lights on at night it takes on an inviting glow. We’ll review our photos to make sure that comes through more clearly.
Came to town for a conference with friends/colleagues and this house was not only charming and comfortable but literal steps away from some very favorite restaurants. Chez Nous, Malagon, Baba's on Cannon, The Grocery, Chubby Fish and The Ordinary are some of Charleston's best and so close! Will definitely book this beautiful home again.

We are so happy you enjoyed your stay. Yes, we are lucky to be in the heart of historic downtown Charleston! We hope to host you again soon!
Everything was great except: 1) the mattresses were way too soft (foam) and I ended up with a backache; 2) the TV in the first floor main bedroom worked only intermittently because of a bad connection to the internet; and 3) I'm not a big fan of Roku - it just has a bunch of garbage on it and doesn't have the channels you need if you want to watch a football game. Apart from that, the place was great. My 5-yr old niece had a great time in the pool, the place was spotless and the kitchen was well-equipped..

When property has a big temp drop (unusual , but shouldn’t become 8000 tenant’s problem) trying to get heat instead of a/c is unusually complicated ( found out after an uncomfortably cold night where individual rooms thermostats, where up to 6 other couples are sleeping on 3 floors, can’t be changed from ‘cool’ to”heat’ — non-functional unless every thermostat in the house is changed (going into other couples rooms at night?). Seemed property had not been inspected btw stays: light bulbs out over master sink, floor lamps not working, en suite sink with no water, conditioner dispenser empty in master bath; in an event house e.g, for weddings with fast tight schedules immediately, there is no time to waste attention on a bunch of property readiness issues that are job #1 for somebody else.
We arrived right after tropical storm Debby. There were a few issues but the management team at Guesthouse were extremely responsive and did their best to address anything that came up. I would recommend staying at a Guesthouse property.

Thank you Joan, it was a pleasure hosting you. We apologize again for the few bumps in the road. We are glad you enjoyed your stay otherwise and we hope to host you again soon!
We were a group of 12 for a bachelorette and really enjoyed our stay here! The communication with the host was amazing. Being able to have a pool to cool off in during the August heat was so nice. Also, we were all pleasantly surprised with how many bathrooms there were! Location was great. AND we all couldn’t stop commenting on how comfortable the beds and how soft the sheets were.

Thank you so much for the kind review! We are so happy you enjoyed your stay at 194 St Philip Street and that it was able to provide a memorable bachelorette trip! We hope to host you again soon. Cheers!
This is a very cool house right downtown - close to lots of restaurants/bars/shopping. Pool and beds are great and lots of bathrooms with showers - great for bigger groups!I will say the street is very noisy as others have noted in their reviews, it seems like 400 large trucks drive past the house every morning around 7 - 9 AM.The floors are also somewhat worn down and some have large gaps in the planks and could definitely stand to be redone & the cleaners could pay a little closer attention to the vent areas/stairwells. The kitchen and bathrooms were cleaned well, but there was months of dust built up on the vents and long strands of hair on the railings of the staircase.

Thank you for taking the time to share such detailed feedback. We’re so glad you enjoyed the home’s location, pool, spacious layout, and amenities, it’s wonderful to know it worked well for your group. We also truly appreciate your honest notes about the street noise, flooring, and areas our cleaning team missed. We’ve shared your comments with our maintenance and housekeeping teams so we can make improvements and ensure these details receive more attention going forward. Being in the downtown area, there can occasionally be traffic noise during the early morning commute, which is common in all urban locations. We’re grateful you chose to stay with us and hope to have the chance to welcome you back for an even smoother experience in the future.

Not Exactly a Great Experience
Pictures are a bit deceiving, one of the 3rd floor bedrooms is literally no bigger than than the queen size bed shown in the pictures. The total house A/C is iffy and 3rd floor was awful. When you see two dehumidifiers, and two additional portable A/C units in the 3rd floor you know you are in for an uncomfortable experience. Thank goodness we were not there in the summer months. Additionally, though we did not use the pool, it was not fit for swimming.
