** Potential guests! From 3/31 through the end of June, we are building a new casita. We have discounted our nightly rates during the week, as Mon-Fri, our crew will be on site from 10 am - 4:30 pm. If you plan to be off the property during the day, this shouldn't affect your stay. However, if a work site will disrupt you, please do not book with us! And save us for later in the summer!
Start your day with a cup of coffee on your private deck, while panoramic views of epic mountain landscapes unfold before you. Fill your day with the perfect itinerary and end the day looking up at the stars.
Our rural and secluded 5-acre property features 3 tiny houses, each spaced 25+ feet apart, offering privacy and community. Hot springs, paddleboarding, hiking, and endless roads to explore are right outside the gate. Taos and Arroyo Secco are just 15 minutes away, where you can indulge in great food, explore galleries, and shop, or venture to the high alpine village of Taos Ski Valley, only 30 minutes away. There are so many opportunities for adventure and renewal.
Make your stay even more memorable by taking advantage of our menu of experiences... from yoga to sound bath classes, massages and body work, outdoor adventures, and guided night sky observations. Big Little Hideaway is truly a unique retreat, and we’re here to help you create the perfect getaway.
Built in 2021, Rainbow Connection features colorful southwestern decor, high-quality bedding, and all the modern conveniences: a mini-split AC/Heat, a furnace for those super-cold winter nights, a three-burner stove, an oven, a refrigerator/freezer, and a full bathroom with a tankless water heater. You'll love the giant picture window, private deck, and gazing at the stars at night.
While kids and fur babies love the wide-open spaces to explore and play, parents can relax with the peace of mind that our property is tucked safely away from the main road.
Friendly and trained pets are welcome. Please refer to our pet policy for details.
Feel free to wander anywhere on the property while respecting the privacy of the other guests. We’ve created little perches at the best spots, especially for sunrise and sunset. Everyone loves the hot tub, and though it is shared, we’ve never had a complaint that it wasn’t available.
We are a tranquil retreat space, and ask that all guests respect the 9 PM quiet time rule.
We’re located on a rural gravel road with a 'New Mexico True' eclectic mix of adobe homes, earthships, modular homes, vintage trailers, and farms. You don’t need 4-wheel drive, though we do recommend it in the winter or at least snow chains on hand. Reserve your preferred tiny house now for peak-season nights and ensure your spot in this serene escape.

We stayed three nights and enjoyed the outdoor covered seating, grill and hot tub. Exceptionally well appointed, everything you need for cooking and relaxation. Close to the riverfront for hiking, fishing, bathing and a hot spring.
Everything you need. A campfire each night was my favorite part. The stars are amazing. The space is cozy, but very comfy, and we enjoyed making meals each night after spending the days hiking and fishing nearby.
An amazing stay with beautiful views. My puppy and I loved the property. The place was clean and the vibes were exceptional. Thank you for a wonderful stay!
Staying here was a wonderful experience and my partner and I definitely would come again! The tiny home was super cozy and comfortable, and the kitchen and grill outside gave us flexibility to make some of our own meals if we didn’t want to leave again to eat out at a restaurant after coming back from a long day, which was perfect for our 5 day stay there. The hot tub was perfect at sunset and into the night with all the gorgeous stars out! The property has an absolutely stunning view of the mountains as well! My partner and I definitely recommend!
We stayed in a tiny house named Rainbow. Unbelievably clean and efficient. We needed a place to collect ourselves and get ready for big pow wow and come home and relax and sleep in a place as quiet. This place met every single one of our needs and then some.
What an amazing little property with even better hosts! We had to make some last minute adjustments and the host was more than happy to accommodate us! It's such an amazing space both indoors and out. My only disappointment is that we could only stay the one night!
Beautifully maintained property, facilities, and home. Easy to find, easy to access and easy to feel at home and feel safe. Great instructions and lots of help from hosts. Highly recommend this lovely "compound" of several tiny houses with community fire pit, picnic area and hot tub. Great way to meet new traveling friends! Beautiful scenery, beautiful sunset. So glad we found this gem in Taos!
Amazing spot. Cozy and quiet. Clean and fully stocked with barbecue grill, utensils, olive oils and spices. Everything worked as it should and there was no wear and tear on the house like I am accustomed to. Great communication and support from owners.
The property is amazing and the accommodations are top notch. Couldn’t ask for anything better including communication with property owner prior to arrival. We came to Taos to check out the area before coming back for a longer stay. We will be back and will stay at the property again.
So clean, neat, and spacious even though it's a tiny home! Well-proportioned and well-organized space. Doug and Jayme are very helpful and responsive. Good quality sheets and towels, beautiful pottery and decor, and everything worked well. Wifi super fast - working from there was easy. And the location was great for me as an outdoorsy nature lover, and also close enough to restaurants and so on. Would stay again!
The sweet Rainbow Tiny Home was a perfect for our two nights in Taos! It was as described and even cozier and more well thought out than we expected. The entire property is welcoming with beautiful views. There are some shared spaces but it still felt like we had privacy. It was nice to be slightly out of town but still have easy access to town and the surrounding mountains and trails. We had some travel complications and Jayme and Doug were supportive and lovely to communicate with. Highly recommend and would absolutely stay again. Thank you
Drove down from Denver for an extended holiday weekend getaway and this was the perfect gl'amping spot. Jayme + Doug were extremely proactive in communication and responsive while we were there. The house was super clean and we enjoyed the fire-pit with nightly smores and star-gazing! 2-mile drive down to John Dunn bridge was a great spot to enjoy afternoon fun at the river with our family!
Probably one of the best places I’ve stayed in. Starting with the reservation process and the communication with Doug. He was very detailed with instructions and recommendations to maximize our visit. The place was very easy to find once you look for the majestic King Kong gates. The space is well fenced, and the tiny home is the cherry on top of it all. Clean and plenty of tools to cook, etc. all amenities work as listed. The hot tub is amazing!!! Overall the place is great. The hot springs and river are also a great amenity. It’s like glamping!! Above all, Doug was amazing and he was even able to help us with a scary situation while in town. 100% recommended.
I really love to go camping first and foremost. I have taken my camper and traveled the country with my wife. In 2015 we purchased this land in Taos and put our Airstream out there so we would have a place to go stay as it had become our favorite place to visit. We have since moved to Taos and love living here. There are so many hiking trails, and activities we can do that are so close. We also love snow skiing, horseback riding, mountain biking, river rafting, and so many hiking trails, and campgrounds all within an hour or two from Taos. We love the idea of Tiny home living and so we decided to add a few more units to our land. We are happy to share our little piece of the Land of Enchantment with other people.
Why they chose this property
We choose to purchase this land because it is just 2 miles form the Black Rock Hot Springs. We also love the mountain views from the property.
What makes this property unique
We are close to the Black Rock Hot Springs and we have an amazing mountain view all in a safe secure gated 5 acres.
