About this property

Large Catskill Mountains/Hudson Valley country house, relaxing gathering space

Welcome to our simple country home with lovely mountain views. Located 15 minutes west of Catskill/Hudson and down the road from Leeds, it's close to local attractions and still away from it all. The wrap-around deck and screened in porch are nestled against 13 acres of meadow and woods. WIldlife sightings abound, and the stargazing is unbeatable. Wifi is excellent and the house has a simple, unpretentious spirit. Sleeps 9!
The space
You’ll enter on the ground/garden floor where we have 2 bedrooms (one has twin bunk beds w/ a twin trundle and one has a queen bed), a bathroom with shower, a laundry room with washer/dryer, and a garage game room equipped for some ping-pong and darts (it is not winterized). Make your way upstairs into the large living room, with a wall of windows facing the mountain view. In this upstairs space is also a dining table which seats 6-8 as well as a kitchen bar that can accommodate a few more. The kitchen is well stocked. There are 2 more bedrooms upstairs (one with a king and one with a queen), and a bathroom with shower/bath.

One door off the main living space opens to a wrap-around deck with outdoor seating, as well as a gas grill; the other door opens to a small, screened in porch with a picnic table.

The land, in original Mohican territory, spans 13 acres back into the woods, where you’ll find beautiful Red Oaks and White Pines. The house is surrounded by some mowed lawn and untouched meadow; and a fire pit sits in the middle of the backyard. We encourage you to take full advantage of the peaceful outdoor spaces. We love this space, with all its simplicity and beauty, and hope y’all will, too!

The host requires you to complete the following before checking out:
Load and start the dishwasher
Strip any used beds and gather used towels
Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks and take out the rubbish
Turn off the lights
-Wash all dishes (by hand or DW) and clean kitchen counters -Discard of food items in kitchen cabinets and fridge - Empty kitchen garbage cans and transfer to outside bins which should be roadside
-Place all used sheets, pillow cases and towels in laundry basket supplied for each bedroom -If you used electric baseboard heat, set thermostats to 50F. If you used the minisplit, turn OFF.
-Turn off all lights and close blinds - If summer, turn off ALL A/Cs -Lock up by pressing "Yale" on the door keypad -Leave a note in our guestbook! -Consider leaving us a great review
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.
Do not leave anything close to or on the electric baseboards as this is a fire hazard!

This house feels like arriving home. It has everything you need. The host even left us a bottle of wine. It was a perfect place to stay for a family party in nearby Greenville. We loved the big spacious living area and the kitchen was well stocked. Loved the beds as well. The heating was powerful and kept us warm. It was too cold to use the game room which was in the only unheated space in the garage, but we played a couple of games of table tennis and darts regardless. The house was well stocked with games which we ended up playing quite a few of. We visited the monastery nearby. That are not a lot of restaurants nearby, but some good ones in Hudson and in the town of Catskill.Overall, our trip was excellent!

Beautiful house and property. My one-year-old enjoyed the toys. It was especially great that there was a door at the top of the stairs so he could play freely in the living room. There was plenty of space inside and out. The deck and sunroom were lovely. Everything was clean and well cared for. It was also very close to the wedding that we were in town for. The hosts were kind and accommodating.

What an amazing magical place. We stayed for 3 nights from 1/16-1/19 and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It snowed and our amazing host offered to have the area shoveled or plowed but we hunkered down and relaxed as it fell. Everything you need is here. The pantry is stocked with cooking stuff. As jaded New Yorkers we worried about the fire wood but just as Tara said we drove exactly 8 minutes and found a self serve honor system of firewood which lasted us the whole weekend. We wandered the trails and found the monk retreat.You can see the mountains and sit outside or cook or watch a show. Loved it and will def recommended and be back. Thank you!!

This rental had a beautiful view of the mountains was well provisioned, clean, and cozy. It was easy to make ourselves at home here right away. Our three nights stay worked out very nicely for my family. We hated to say goodbye. We will rent again.
