About this property

Mystical Pines Hideaway: A One-of-a-Kind Cabin Escape: Trails, Hiking, Biking

Escape to a unique rustic cabin full of character and charm. We’ve been thoughtfully restoring this home over the past three years, and while it’s not perfect, that’s part of its appeal. Expect a cozy, lived-in feel with some quirks—lower ceilings in a few doorways and slightly uneven stairs—adding to its one-of-a-kind, medieval atmosphere.

Enjoy evenings around the large firepit in the backyard, perfect for relaxing under the stars. Just across the street, you’ll find Goose Pond with a small beach for swimming, and a short drive around the pond leads to a convenient boat ramp.

Outdoor lovers will feel right at home with hiking and biking trails accessible from the property, making it easy to explore and unwind in nature.

What an amazing architectural wonder. Each and every room was perfect. Everything from several different bathroom products to a coffee machine that brews pots and Kurigs. We enjoyed a burning massive bon fire, not just a pit, of course Smores were devoured. The only thing it lacked was a hot tub, , but had a beautiful and deep claw footed bath tub, simply luxurious. Go here, you won’t be disappointed. Thank you Simpson’s, Luv’d every second of it. Kudos!

We loved our stay. This house is unique and interesting. It looks better in person than in the pictures. It gives off vibes of the Hobbit with a fantasy edge. The stairs are a little quirky as they are narrow but fine when you take it slow. Some of the doorways would be a bit of a challenge for someone 6 feet or taller, but I am 5’9” so they were no issue. The house was very clean and neat. Light switches are labeled and a notebook was provided with instructions and suggested places to visit. There were extras provided and snacks. The fact that we could bring our dog was a real plus and she loved it as well.Definitely recommended.

We had an amazing stay at Mystical Pines Hideaway! From the moment we arrived, it felt like the perfect place to relax and enjoy everything the New Hampshire mountains have to offer. The cabin is unlike anywhere we’ve stayed before—full of character, charm, and unique details that make it feel truly special. It has a cozy, rustic atmosphere while still providing everything we needed for a comfortable stay. It was the perfect place to come back to after a day of exploring. We loved how convenient the location was. We spent time swimming at the beautiful Goose Pond, visiting Clark’s Bears, mini golf, a trampoline park, thrift store shopping, and enjoyed the beautiful scenery all around us. It was so nice to return each evening to the peaceful setting and simply enjoy the quiet. The host was friendly, responsive, and clearly takes pride in making guests feel at home. Everything was clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully prepared for our arrival. This was exactly the kind of getaway we were hoping for: peaceful, relaxing, and close to so many fun attractions while still feeling tucked away in nature. We made some wonderful memories here and wouldn’t hesitate to stay again. Highly recommend Mystical Pines Hideaway to anyone looking for a unique and relaxing New Hampshire escape!

This place is very cute and magical. Our grandchildren really enjoyed the little treasures - knights and fairies - they found around the house and even outside. They loved discovering new games to play with. Upon arrival we found the inside of the house clean and prepared for us. The kitchen was well equipped and we had fun preparing good food for all. The house is surrounded by trees, which makes the inside quite dark, but there were many lights to brighten the rooms. We did not find any broom or vacuum cleaner to clear the entry area of sand and dirt we brought in. From the house we could walk to a small public beach at the end of Goose Pond for swimming and fishing. A bike ride along Goose Pond towards the boat landing on the North side was possible with our small children due to little traffic. And only a few miles away is the Trailhead to Mt. Cardigan, an easy hike to the top taking the West Trail.Adding to the outside space around the house we are wondering if it could be possible to set up a picnic table to sit in the sun, serve meals and enjoy the fresh air. Overall we had a really nice time. Thank you to our hosts!

This place was magical. Four adults came up from Massachusetts for a couple days of work. We didn't know we would be staying at somebody's art project... It was perfect. The host had everything we needed. Close to highway. We will definitely return at some point in the near future

We are a local New England family who loves the outdoors and the mountain views. We frequently go to the house to work on it and enjoy the natural beauty and quiet. We are excited to share the home with others and hope you enjoy the place as much as we do.

Hosting gives us the chance to share places that feel special, not just another rental. I want guests to feel comfortable, have fun, and make great memories—whether that’s sitting by the firepit, walking to the pond, or just enjoying a quiet morning with a view.

We are easygoing, responsive, and happy to help with anything you need to make your stay great!

Why they chose this property

I chose this place for its quiet, laid-back feel and connection to nature. It’s the kind of place where you can truly slow down — surrounded by trees, fresh air, and the calm of Goose Pond just steps away.

What I love most is the balance. You can spend your day fishing, swimming, hiking, or biking, then come back to unwind by the firepit under the stars. It’s peaceful without feeling remote, and every season brings something different—from summer lake days to beautiful fall foliage.

It’s a friendly, relaxed area that’s perfect for families, couples, or anyone looking to recharge and enjoy the outdoors.

What makes this property unique

What makes this property truly unique is its character—you won’t find another home quite like it. Known locally as the “Round House,” it was hand-built with incredible craftsmanship, and you can see that story in every detail—from the original nails in the walls to the beautiful interior stonework.

It’s not just a place to stay—it’s an experience. There’s even a hidden bedroom door that opens with a candlestick, adding a fun, unexpected touch guests love.

It’s the perfect mix of rustic charm, creativity, and outdoor living—ideal for guests looking for something memorable, not just typical.
