Our Family Retreat on 2.5 acres

Welcome to our 6-bedroom German-Tudor home, nestled on a 2.5-acre wooded lot just off Interstate-235. Ideal for accommodating family & friend groups, business teams, as well as solo travelers seeking comfort and tranquility.

The house is centrally located in the metro area, 10 minutes from downtown Des Moines to the east, and 10 minutes from West Des Moines to the west.

The house is located adjacent to the Walnut Creek Trail, offering miles of biking, jogging, and walking trails.

You will have access to all 6 levels of the house, the front and the fenced back yard.

ACCESSIBILITY:
You will have access to all levels. Stairs connect the different levels. The living spaces are spread over 6 main levels separated by short flights of stairs.
Please reference the Overall Layout Photo.
The main level (Level 3) is accessible without the use of stairs and has the kitchen, dining room, half bath. However, the Level 3 Living Room is lower than the dining room by 3 steps. (Review photos). The living room can be accessed through the study/game room door to avoid the use of stairs.
Access to the bedrooms requires the use of 8 steps between Level 3 and Level 4 for access to 3 bedrooms. Additional steps separate the bedrooms on Level 5 and Level 6.

5 siblings and spouses plus our parents for their 60th anniversary for 3 nights. A very accommodating place! We brought food for most of our meals. Plenty of space to enjoy ourselves! Quiet neighborhood. I highly recommend this property!

Convenient location and adjacent to biking and walking path. Lots of family room space and we had fun in the game room. Large yard in back. Multi levels of bedrooms and baths worked great for our group of 7. Most bathrooms have walkin tub with showers. Not my favorite. The house was missing some needed kitchen and cleaning basics. For our group it was a great fit.

All that you need

Had a wonderful stay meeting up with old college friends and their children! So much room in the house- the fenced in backyard was ideal for keeping track of kids and toddlers. We were within 5 mins of everything we needed and even ended up staying in a night instead of going out to eat because of how convient the house was. Would absolutely stay again. Additionally host was very responsive to any and all questions.

State Track

This location was absolutely perfect to stay during state track. a 5-minute drive to Drake University made this location so desirable. Centrally located in Des Moines we had a lot of options for dining during our down time. The house is very spacious and gave us all our own space to relax after the track sessions. The younger kids absolutely loved the game room in the basement.

Great place for families!!

My family and extended family stayed here for a few days for the Iowa State fair. There were three adults and five kids and there was plenty of space for all! The kids love the upstairs room where they could hang out by themselves or game room downstairs. Two living rooms were both nice for all to relax at the end of the night. Location was in between State Fair and Jordan Creek both places we visited. Restaurants, bars and groceries are very close by! House is on busy road with entrance directly off the road so just have to be patient entering and exiting. Definitely would stay here again!! You won’t be disappointed!

Maybe Iowa is Heaven

For the 25th year we have brought our fantasy football league together to enjoy a fantastic weekend of fellowship and pigskin. This year we decided to head to the midwest as a rallying point. We found this property and hoped for the best in finding a place with a lot of bedrooms, bathrooms and living space. The Waterbury property checked those boxes and more. You never know what you are getting until you arrive but one step inside the house answered those questions. The house was exactly as depicted on the website though we weren't sure what that was going to be with 6 levels. But not only were we pleased beyond expectations, this is the coolest house any of us had seen in awhile. It is spacious beyond our hopes and dreams and we will definitely be returning. Do you have a big group get together coming up.....then this is your location. Book it now.
