Spacious cabin with loads of room. Clean and as described. Books, games, kayaks and a quiet place to get away to. We saw deer, ducks, and a heron in the pond. Wish we would have brought fishing poles.
We were in the area for a wedding and this spot slept our extended family and served as a great gathering place for a few others that were in town.
The long enclosed porch fit us all for games and puzzles and we made use of the decks, grill and the kayaks in the cute little lake.
This is my second booking at this property.
Extremely pleased with the accommodations!
Very clean and comfortable.
The owner is easily accessible and accommodating.
Looking forward to booking another stay!
Beautiful apartment in historic downtown area. Very modern and located on the first floor. Has all amenities and more! Bed was very comfortable. I would definitely stay again. Host was amazing and easy to communicate with!
Perfect location for having a group of family members to have a reunion or other celebration. Close to town but far enough to see the stars. Perfect setting. Thank you for a fabulous experience. We even caught fish in the pond!
Huge cabin with lots of room!! Everything we needed was supplied. Beautiful quiet area. Only minor issue was that there were no departure instructions, so we cleaned but was not sure there was anything they specifically wanted us to do before checking out.
Our family had a superb time here enjoying the lodge and beautiful surroundings. It is so peaceful and lovely. It’s a magnificent place — spotless and so comfortable for visiting with family and friends. Perfect weekend! Jim and Kathie are excellent hosts and do everything to make us comfortable and welcomed. I would love to stay much longer and look forward to the next visit.
We are a group of 5 siblings and our spouses who gathered for the weekend for an annual reunion to catch up and recharge. The Buck Run Lodge suited us perfectly. There was ample sleeping space and living space, both inside and out. The kitchen was well stocked for cooking and serving. The porch space is wonderful and we took advantage of the great weather and spend a lot of time outside, including an evening fire in the firepit. We are already planning to come back next year!
We hosted a wedding rehearsal supper for our son and daughter in law at the property, then our family stayed. There were thoughtful touches of everything a family could need, including firewood at the firepit, disposable 9x13 pans, paper towels, freezer ziplocks for leftovers, tons of towels and washrags, extra sheets....you name it. The kids enjoyed the kayaks and canoes and the large lawn to play on, while the adults dined on the large porch and lawn (large citronella bucket candles were on the porch from the owner).
It was hidden away and quiet at night, and the beds were all comfortable. This is a rare jewel of hospitality!! Thank you!
We liked the property. The pond was wonderful, the fire pit was conveniently located close to the cabin, and there was more than enough furniture for even very large groups. We did have to share the kayaks with the other cabin and they had a lot of people in their group. If you own your own you might consider bringing them. The only downside was the cabin was dirty when we arrived. My husband actually had to clean before I arrived it was so bad. When there is such a large cleaning fee, the cabin should be clean upon arrival to show that the fee actually goes to have the property cleaned.
