About this property

Cozy Washington Log Cabin: Riverside Retreat

Escape to a cozy log cabin with a private hot tub on the Toutle River, just minutes from Mount St. Helens. This peaceful retreat blends rustic charm with modern comfort - perfect for a romantic winter getaway or a quiet riverside escape.

Step outside to your private deck overlooking the river, where you can sip coffee in the crisp morning air, soak in the clean, inviting hot tub, or gather around the fire pit or fire table as the evening cools. Inside, unwind with a movie night on the projector screen or curl up with a good book while listening to the river flow by.

The cabin sits directly on the riverbank, with several peaceful spots to relax and enjoy the view. You’ll find Mount St. Helens, scenic hiking trails, and the small-town charm of Castle Rock, WA just a short drive away. (Some light road noise can be heard during weekday daytime hours.)

Inside, the fully equipped kitchen includes a microwave, toaster oven, refrigerator, and coffee maker, while the bathroom offers a hot shower to warm up after a day outdoors. The cozy loft is accessed by a sturdy wooden ladder with wide, non-slip steps, and several areas of the property include steps or uneven terrain, which may not be suitable for guests with limited mobility.

Sleeping arrangements include four very comfortable queen-sized beds and a sleeper sofa, though we recommend up to four guests for the best experience. Guests have full access to the property, including direct river access, the hot tub (heated and ready for your arrival), and outdoor fire areas.

A signed liability waiver is required prior to your stay to meet insurance requirements. Please note: the property is reserved for adult guests only.

Whether you’re planning a romantic getaway, a quiet retreat, or a winter hot-tub escape in the Pacific Northwest, this riverside log cabin offers the ideal mix of comfort, privacy, and natural beauty.

Beautiful cabin with awesome deck but lots of road noise and equipment use.

We loved this cabin, deck, and hot tub. The river is awesome, but there is a constant flow of dump trucks accessing the gravel pit on the week days, and there happened to also be an excavator and chainsaw going next door on the weekend, so it was pretty noisy throughout our stay.

Serene and peace

From the pictures online to being out there it was beautiful! There are neighbors but the views are blocked and they dont bother you at all. Might get a visit from a friendly puppy that just stopped by to say hey! Didnt catch any fish that was disappointing but, enjoyed the grill, hot tubandfire pit, and surrounding areas. Host was absolutely wonderful, communication, helping qith a few processes, suggestions and just overall amazing! Overall this is a tiny slice of heaven for getting out!

The cabin was cozy and the property is beautifully positioned on the river. The continuous noise from large trucks during the early morning to the late afternoon was a bit unpleasant.

Beautiful setting

The cabin is cozy, warm and the beds are comfortable. Four people plus a small dog was plenty, I wouldn’t recommend more than that. Thank you for a lovely weekend!

Great Cabin

We really enjoyed our stay here. It is perfect for two people. It is close to the road, but with the trees and fences there is still complete privacy. It was close enough for us to go early to Mt. St. Helen's to hike. The kitchen, bathroom, and porch could use a few updates, but over all it was so clean that didn't really matter. We spent most of our time outside on the porch anyways because the furniture out there is updated and nice and we saw hummingbirds, bats, and stars!

Relaxing getaway

A cute and clean cabin with a great deck area! The view of the river is wonderful. There is a hummingbird feeder provided great birding entertainment from the outdoor furnature. Even saw a bald eagle! The hot tub was greatnand we enjoyed using the fire table in the evening. Great for a couple or smaller family, since all the bedroom areas are in the open. Well stocked kitchen with all the spices. Very cute and the manager Paul is great to communicate witb. We had a great stay!

About the host

I love meeting new people - everyone has something fascinating about them. I’m a father and adore my family. When I’m not hosting, I work at a small software company in Portland. I read constantly, stay active, and spend as much time in nature as I can - climbing, kayaking, or walking new trails. I also love making spicy vegetarian food and the occasional odd-colored (but delicious) smoothie.
