The Bodwell Cottage at East Boston Quarry

The Bodwell Cottage is a cozy 1 bedroom 1 bath cabin located at the historic and scenic East Boston Quarry. The Bodwell is the third of three cabins on East Boston Quarry currently available for weekly stays. The cottages are just a short 1.4 mile drive from the Vinalhaven Ferry Terminal, and barely a mile from Vinalhaven’s Main Street. If you’re looking for a peaceful, private, and serene place to rest during your stay on Vinalhaven, you’ve found the place!

The Bodwell Cottage is equipped with small kitchen space with oven, sink and full size refrigerator, one bedroom with a double bed, a living area with couch and TV, and a full bathroom with a standing shower. Also includes A/C and heating capabilities via heat pump. There is also a small private deck on the backside of the house where main entrance is located, as pictured.

It is a nice quiet location. We enjoyed sitting on the porch in the evening porch having dinner. The area around the quarry for swimming was great to have. The space is tight, but has lots of sunlight and with the orientation of the house, the bedroom gets morning sun and the sunset can be seen at night.

The house is in like-new condition and the location is quiet but still near Carver's Harbor. Bodwell is not at the edge of the quarry, but a short walk away.

Small but comfortable

Lovely location - quarry is very cool and peaceful. Cottage well made and though small, all that we really required. Bed was comfortable, shower commodious. Could easily have walked to town, but great location - near town but quiet.

Nothing but great things to say about this property. It’s basically a super cute, tiny house with a great layout. The property was very clean, stocked with the basics you need and not far from town. Also had great communication with the owner/manager along the way. Will definitely stay again!
