Man in the garage.
Our recent stay took an unexpected turn when I discovered that a man was living in the garage of the property. While the listing was clear about the space I’d be renting, nothing prepared me for the shock of realizing I wasn’t the only one occupying the property.The garage, which wasn’t mentioned as a separate living space, turned out to be an actual living quarters. I just happened to be looking for the grill and when I went to look into the garage. I realized that this man was residing there full-time. The situation felt uncomfortable and invasive, especially when the host hadn’t communicated this in It’s important for hosts to be transparent about such arrangements to avoid surprising or unsettling guests. I wasn’t expecting to share my Vrbo experience with anyone else, let alone someone living in the same building without prior notice. Ruined our whole vacation as we had our dog with us. And my wife was very uncomfortable having a man living in the same space. It’s very hard finding a nice place with a dog to stay at for 5 days. Needless to say we ended up having to stay in a hotel with our dog. Overall, the lack of transparency was disappointing. The stay could’ve been more enjoyable if there had been clearer communication about the space and who was using it. I never would have rented a place to share with someone else. Worst vacation ever. Also the host was very rude when we called and complained about it.like it should be ok.
