About this property

Rio House Retreat

Need time away from it all to recharge or refocus with love ones. With no traffic, neighborhood noise or city lights find your inner peace with the sounds and views of nature. The Rio House's goal is for you to do as little as possible, celebrate a magic moment or find inspiration. Make sure you have your bait or foosball skills ready to go or TV bing list ready, the Rio House can be the perfect getaway. Book Now!
The space
A two bedroom privte cottage with mountain and river views provide a breath of fresh air you are looking for. Open the French doors each morning after a sound sleep with no cars, trains or neighboring sound to disrupt your sweet dreams.

The main bedroom’s bathroom only has a large soaking tub while the second bathroom only has a shower. So bring a robe as you pass through the large kitchen witch is great for gathering.

Take the day and escape by the Clinch River by dropping a line to fish or grab your favorit book and relax on the porch or down by the fire pit. Stay close to the houes with a fun game of foosball or cornhole and more.

With fast Wifi and three smart TV's you can bing watch with not a care in the world. Set the crock pot with your favorit one pot meal and just relax. Use facetime to make calls during your stay. Please no smoking inside or pets and keep an eye out for the wildlife.
Guest access
Entry to the property starts at the second red gate, not in front of the white house but to the right over the little hill. The 4 diget lock box has the keys for self checkin starting at 11:00 am on day of your arrival. Once you enter the front door put your bags in the only large walk in closet, pick a chair to recline in and let it all go. Please no smoking inside.
Other things to note
This cute and charming cottage offers one large walk in closet, one bathroom with a soaking tub and one with a shower. Don't forget your robe and pick up a few groceries before you arrive or pre made meals, the grocery store is not close. We are a solid 30-40 min away from everything.

Living on a country gravel road that is unpredictable sometimes it does not always allow for a smooth ride on Jackson Ridge. The ride on Jackson Ridge can feel rough for a small car and fine for SUVs. You will go over the top of the mountain it feels tricky but you can do it.

Games are available to give you a break from relaxing. If you need more time for yourself take a seat near the river fire pit close your eyes or drop a line. Use facetime to talk to friends who did not come with you even near the firepit.

We try and give you a full cooking kitchen with a crockpot under the center island and other items. Coffee, tea, salt and pepper and some basic kitchen amentias are in the pantry. Please share with us if you think of something cool we should have. :)

For your safety the house will not have a guest a day before you arrive to allow for proper sanitizing and the front porch and backyard has cameras for safety.

Rio house was incredible!

Everything about Rio House was amazing. The peacefulness and the views were spectacular. The house was very clean, well stocked and comfortable. Communication with the owner was wonderful, everyone question or concern was answered in a timely manner. Would definitely recommend and will be going back!

The Rio House has become our home away from the buys everyday life and can't wait to live there full time. I love the porch view and the pure sound of nature. One of my favorite things is getting a full night sleep with no noise to interrupt my dreams and simply enjoying the river and having family together.

Why they chose this property

We found the Tazewell and the Rio House by chance and its unexpected simplicity and great neighbor's drew us and and so we stayed.

What makes this property unique

This property is for those who really want to unwind for a few days. This property unique sense of serenity and ability to just let time pass and feel good about it is not obtained by most places. Nature offers it own distraction with the river and spectacular sun set.
