Eco Tiny Home on Organic Farm Within Minutes of Downtown Hilo.
ABOUT THIS PROPERTY Escape the noise of town and experience life on a working organic farm just minutes from downtown Hilo. Nestled among tropical fruit trees and overlooking the Mokupāpapa Stream, this solar-powered tiny home offers a peaceful place to slow down, reconnect with nature, and explore Hawaiʻi Island. Spend your mornings listening to birdsong from the lanai, your afternoons discovering waterfalls, beaches, and local markets, and your evenings gathered around the fire pit beneath the stars. Although you'll feel tucked away in the rainforest, grocery stores, restaurants, beaches, farmers markets, and Hilo Airport are all just a short drive away. Whether you're visiting for adventure, relaxation, or simply to experience a different pace of life, this unique farm stay offers an authentic Big Island experience. THE SPACE This thoughtfully designed tiny home comfortably sleeps up to five guests. The bedroom includes one queen bed and one full bed. For additional sleeping space, the living room couch folds into a small futon, and linens can be provided upon request. Designed for comfortable off-grid living, the home includes: • Full bathroom with indoor shower • Cinderella toilet system • Full-size refrigerator and freezer • Propane stove and oven • Microwave • Nespresso coffee maker • Blender • Toaster • Covered lanai with outdoor seating • Fire pit • Ample parking • Towels, beach towels, linens, basic soap, and shampoo Guests are welcome to enjoy approximately one acre surrounding the home, including the orchard, grassy open areas, and outdoor living spaces. FARM & RAINFOREST LIVING One of the things guests love most about staying here is experiencing the sights and sounds of Hawaiʻi's tropical rainforest. This is not a resort. It is a real farm in a real rainforest. You'll hear birds throughout the day and coqui frogs singing after sunset. Rain showers can pass through quickly and unexpectedly, often followed by sunshine moments later. The landscape is lush, green, and constantly growing. Because we are located on a working farm in East Hawaiʻi, nature is very much part of the experience. Guests will likely see geckos, tropical birds, butterflies, coqui frogs, and other wildlife that call the island home. Like all homes in rural Hawaiʻi, occasional encounters with tropical insects are possible. Mosquitoes, moths, and even the occasional cockroach or centipede and other rainforest creatures are a normal part of island life, especially after periods of rain. We regularly maintain and treat the home and surrounding grounds, but the tropical climate means these visitors can occasionally find their way indoors. Guests who enjoy nature, privacy, and a quieter pace of life often find that the rainforest setting becomes one of the most memorable parts of their stay. OFF-GRID CONSIDERATIONS Part of what makes this property unique is its eco-conscious design. The home utilizes solar power, rain catchment water, and other sustainable systems that allow guests to experience a different way of living while still enjoying modern comforts. A few things to know before booking: • The home operates entirely on solar power. For most guests, daily life feels no different than a traditional home. • During rare emergencies or extended periods of unusually poor weather, a backup generator may be used to help ensure guest comfort. • As with any off-grid property, we ask guests to be mindful of unnecessary power usage and avoid leaving lights, appliances, or electronics running when not in use. • Cell service may be weaker inside the home due to the metal roofing and rural location, though reception is generally available outdoors and near windows. • Starlink WiFi is being added and may be available during your stay. • The home utilizes a Cinderella toilet system rather than a traditional septic system or cess pool. This modern off-grid technology is clean, odor-free, and simple to operate. Easy instructions are provided inside the home, and most guests become comfortable using it after their first use. • Property roads and pathways may become muddy after periods of heavy rain. • The driveway is long and rural. If arriving after dark, please follow the directional signs carefully and let us know your approximate arrival time so we can assist if needed. • Tropical weather can change quickly. Rain is common throughout the year and is one of the reasons the surrounding landscape is so lush and beautiful. LOCATION One of the best features of this property is its balance of privacy and convenience. Approximate driving times: • Downtown Hilo – 5 minutes • Hilo Farmers Market – 10 minutes • Hilo International Airport – 15 minutes • Rainbow Falls – 10 minutes • Carlsmith Beach Park – 15 minutes • Hawaiʻi Volcanoes National Park – 40 minutes After a day of exploring the island, return to the quiet of the farm, listen to the evening chorus of coqui frogs, and experience a side of Hawaiʻi that many visitors never get to see.

Beautiful, very private, peaceful location in farm country on the outskirts of Hilo. Spiffy and clean tiny house. Lots of porch/ lanai space. Convenient for Hilo and Saddle Road excursions.
Our host was very helpful and quick to respond. The tiny home was perfect. It was nice, clean and super cute. Location was amazing, would totally recommend and would stay again!
This is a beautiful off-grid house conveniently located just a few miles from Hilo. Very peaceful and beautiful surroundings. You are off-grid with solar power unless the sun is gone too long, then they run a generator for you. Off grid toilet, also. Most peaceful place we have stayed. Nice hosts.
The property feels rural, away from it all, yet is a quick drive into downtown Hilo. It is private, quiet and beautiful. The resident owl visited twice. We love the off grid nature, environmentally concious.
We had a brief and wonderful stay at the tiny house. Adam is a responsive host at a fantastic location. This tidy, tiny, house had all our family of four needed to end our visit back on the big island. The location felt remote and yet minutes to Hilo’s historic district as well as quick access to the nearby surf break. Gas range and outdoor fireplace under the covered porch made for lovely home cooked and memorable meals. Overall, a gem!

This tiny home was a perfect spot for our father/son excursion to the Big Island. It had a fully equipped kitchen which was great for preparing meals. Everything appeared to be brand new and it was immaculate. It is secluded and private and had a great screened in area with fire pit. Communication was perfect, and was needed to find the location. I'd stay here again for sure. It was a great value and very comfortable!
