Would stay here again!

Overall, a wonderful stay! The home was spacious and perfect for our large group—there were 11 of us, and everyone had their own comfortable bed. The layout made it easy to enjoy time together while still having room to spread out. Located in an up-and-coming neighborhood, we felt safe and comfortable throughout our stay. The young adults especially loved the Pac-Man arcade game—it was a fun bonus! We were in town for a wedding at Belle Isle, and the location was ideal, just a short drive to the venue. Would stay here again! The host was responsive to our questions, and the concierge, Derrick, was easy to work with and responsive also to our inquiries while there.

We had a family weekend vacation with 11 of us. It was adequate but would not have wanted to add more people. The outside of the property was never shown. We were surprized at the area it was in and the look of the outside of the house. We never had any trouble. The lawn never got mowed around it, so it was about 7-8 inches of grass to walk through by parking area. The inside was very clean and presentable. There were some cosmetic issues--- tiles on kitchen floor were loose and stuck to bare feet. There was not enough silverware knives to go with 11 people. The bathroom on the main floor was very small so the shower was hard to use. There were a ton of flies in the house due to no screens, even though we never opened any. The steps going into the house were very steep and made it hard for a person with some mobility issues to get in. One of the bathrooms on the second floor had only a bathtub, which was not used for our group. It would have been better to have another shower. These are all issues that go with an old house that has been updated. They were not terrible things-- but things that affected our stay. However, we still had a good time.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We're pleased to hear that your family had a good time overall and that you found the home clean and welcoming upon arrival. We appreciate your feedback and have already addressed the loose floor tiles you mentioned. We also apologize that a section of the grass near the parking area had not yet been completed by our landscaping team. While the front and main grounds are maintained on a regular schedule, that area was unfortunately missed prior to your stay, and we understand how that affected your first impression. As a historic heritage home, the property is subject to strict preservation guidelines, and many exterior and structural changes require an extensive approval process. We work hard to preserve its character while continually improving the guest experience wherever possible. Regarding the flies, we have a professional pest control program in place and the home was free of flies at check-in. During the summer months, they can quickly enter if exterior doors are left open, particularly in older homes that were not originally designed with modern screened entrances. Many of the features you mentioned, such as the steeper entry stairs and the bathroom configuration, reflect the original design of a century-old home. While we would certainly love to add additional full bathrooms, the existing layout limits what can be achieved without fundamentally altering the home's historic structure. We have instead focused on maximizing comfortable sleeping accommodations for larger families and groups while offering exceptional value compared with booking multiple hotel rooms. We also appreciate your note about the cutlery and will be adding additional steak knives to better accommodate larger groups. Thank you again for your thoughtful comments. Guest feedback helps us continue improving, and we're glad your family created wonderful memories together during your stay.
