Maximum guests: four overnight; twelve on the property.
The surrounding landscape features lawns, gardens, two terraces (one with tables and chairs to accommodate 10 for dining, the other with seating around a firepit), and a small pond/garden with seating around another firepit. The 18th century stone bank barn, smokehouse, springhouse, garage, and other outbuildings add history and charm to the setting. Enjoy the peaceful view from the flagstone terrace adjoining the house, across the lawn overlooking Cooks Creek, a designated Class A exceptional value stream with native and brown trout. Relax by the firepit on the garden terrace, taking in the long view across gardens and pastures.
Highlights of the delightfully updated home include its original random-width pine floors, deep-silled windows, and working stone fireplace in the living room. Two other fireplaces in the house add decorative charm (but are non-working). Tasteful antique and contemporary furnishings throughout the house create a welcoming and comfortable ambience. A powder room completes the first floor.
Upstairs, the master suite is a light and airy private space including bedroom with queen bed, decorative fireplace, and sitting area overlooking lawns, garden, pastures and Cooks Creek. Adjoining the bedroom are walk-through closets, bathroom, and a private stairway to the first floor. The master bath has a separate toilet area, glass-walled tile shower, tub, and dual vanity sinks.
A second charming bedroom offers a double bed, closet, and views of lawns, garden, pastures and the creek. A third small room is a charming study with a desk and sofa. A full bath with tub/shower is easily accessible to the bedrooms. The main hallway and stairs complete the second floor. The basement provides laundry facilities and a third full bath.

We had no idea how special this place was going to be! Absolutely beautiful property and home, and it wound up being a highlight of our visit, not just a place to stay. We were all sad to have to leave - thank you!!
This house was just perfect and exactly what I was looking for to celebrate Christmas with my family! The hosts were excellent to communicate with. Highly recommended...
We had an amazing time at the farm. It was exactly the getaway we needed. Lovely, meticulously maintained, and welcoming. The bird watching was fantastic. Alyce was a perfect host. We look forward to returning soon!
A slice of Heaven filled with old world charm that is impossibly to find these days. We enjoyed a special Thanksgiving under Alyce’s roof and felt more blessed than usual.

Christine and family were ideal guests...communicative, taking good care of everything, and even leaving beautiful flowers behind which had brightened their elegant Thanksgiving dinner table. I would happily welcome her back again!
Went for a weekend getaway - this house is so very special. Decades of collections give it charm and history. We didn’t want to leave - Far enough from town to feel like you’re completely off grid - close enough to enjoy the region and it’s offerings! Alyce is responsive and completely a pleasure to work with!

Jeannie, It was a pleasure to host you and I so appreciate the good care you took of the property. Hope you'll come back again in the spring when the weather and gardens are lovely.
We enjoyed our stay at your lovely property. We had the opportunity to make use of the outside fire pit and explore the spectacular property. It was so nice to come back to the farm and just relax after all the wedding activities. A true gem!! Thank you!
The house is lovely, with a well-equipped kitchen and high quality towels. My only issue was finding some of the light switches as many were retro-fitted into a very old house. The large property in front of the house ensures absolute quiet. The master bathroom is huge with a terrific shower. Loved every minute.
My colleague and I stayed at the farm as a retreat, during which we prepped the courses we are teaching this semester. We got a lot done, in a very peaceful atmosphere. There were plenty of good spots to work, and the farm itself is lovely, so we had nice breaks just taking walks around the property. We loved it. Sitting on the terrace working, watching the creek go by, watching the deer and birds--all amazing. One suggestion: If you order from Instacart, be sure to have them deliver during daylight hours. If the Instacart driver isn't terribly familiar with the area, you might end up driving to the end of the driveway, near the road, to meet her! All worked out fine in the end, but our driver did drive by the entrance a few times in the dark.
My young adult children & I were just amazed at how beautiful the grounds were around this 18th c. restored farmhouse. I’m a little loathe to praise it here, for fear it will become overbooked... ah, I should mention that the wifi is spotty, so livestreaming movies & shows is impossible. But, teenagers engrossed by the variety of birds to be seen? Everyone entranced by all the lovely outdoor & indoor places to gather & view the gardens? Next time, bringing a fishing pole and river shoes to explore Cook’s Creek, right there.
This is a wonderful property with an amazing owner and everything about our experience was ideal. The property is situated in a rural setting and is surrounded by expansive corn fields. Privacy here is abundant. The rustic/nature setting certainly caters to nature lovers. Although it's location is by no means isolated. Philadelphia is a mere hour away, and NYC is only and hour and a half by car. The property provided a perfect homebase location. The house itself is quaint, rustic, romantic. It's an old (18th Century) stone-style house that has been meticulously maintained. The kitchen has been updated and the house includes all the amenities of modern-style living. The property owner is a sincerely kind and helpful person. Communicating with her was refreshingly pleasant. Ultimately, I can't say enough about how positive our experience was with this house and I would highly recommend it.

Brian's stay at the farm was definitely a mutually agreeable arrangement! He and family were perfect guests, communicating graciously, leaving everything in good order, and even fixing a little problem with thermostat batteries. I would welcome them back very happily!
Brian aptly described the setting - rural yet not isolated. This is not necessarily everyone's cup of tea, but it is certainly a great country escape (with the added allure of beautiful landscaping and gardens in spring, summer, and fall).
What a beautiful property! It had everything we needed for a lovely stay in a bucolic setting. The gardens and fire pits and the peace of the creek!!! Everything is well thought out and accessible, Alyce was the perfect host, responsive and kind. Did I mention the magical gardens? The birds? The fire pits and the gentle flow of the creek?
Penbuck Farm was a wonderful experience. A beautifully set old Bucks County stone farmhouse in an idyllic landscape, exquisitely decorated and full of amazing antiques and artifacts. Gorgeous views from every angle, a crystal clear creek, established flower gardens, two firepit areas, well equipped kitchen, we enjoyed every minute. Loved exploring this delightful area of the Delaware River valley.
Alyce was easy to work with. We enjoyed being on the creek and sitting on the patio. Found some
nice hikes nearby and tasted ice cream from a few local spots. Lots of corn fields everywhere you drive!
Great property and house. I look forward to coming back in the future!!

Perfect historic house, beautifully decorated and thoroughly outfitted.
This house makes me happy. I will return and would move in in a heartbeat. Alice is an inspired collector and decorator, and a helpful host. Alongside all the authentic period charm you will find a luxurious updated master bath and a kitchen equipped for a chef. Love it!

Tranquility and Peaceful
This was one of the best vacations ever. So peaceful and relaxing, taking us back in time leaving us yearning for the history of this home, farm and the folks who lived here from the beginning; 1790. Extremely clean and well maintained. What a joy it has been staying here.

BEAUTIFUL AND THE NICEST OWNERS!
Alyce and her husband were so accommodating, and their property is just immaculate! We had my family and my husbands siblings stay in the home with us, and it was one of the best trips we've had to PA to visit family, and having this home was a big component of it. Everything is so clean and the property is just beautiful! We have so much fun exploring and watching the creek. My 2 year old daughter was with us, and we had to keep a close eye on her because of all the antiques. However, we told Alyce that we had a small child with us, and her and her husband went through the house and made sure all of the easily knocked over items were stored away so we didn't have to worry about that. Everything was great, I do not have one complaint, honestly! Unfortunately, we are not able to come out to PA this Thanksgiving, but most likely we will be coming in 2017 and most likely this is the home we will be renting if it is available. Thank you again!

Norman Rockwell Thanksgiving
We chose this gorgeous property as a place to gather for a family Thanksgiving celebration. Notwithstanding the difficulties of navigating the Bucks County countryside in a serious snowstorm, we had a very nice experience. Of course, the house and grounds looked like a painting after the snowfall. The house, though quite old, is spotlessly clean and incredibly comfortable. It was well provisioned with clean sheets and towels, and a seemingly never-ending supply of good dishes, silverware and kitchen equipment. The owners have many beautiful things all around the house, and they were incredibly nice about the fact that we moved things around so that nothing would get broken when our Thanksgiving crowd arrived. The electricity went out because of the snow storm, and the owners came to see what help they could provide. Luckily it came back on about an hour later, so the turkey could finish cooking. We would definitely return--perhaps with a smaller crowd. I can imagine that this would be a wonderful place for a summer getaway with friends. It is delightful, as are the owners.

About the host
Hosted by Alyce Stick
My parents purchased Penbuck Farm before I was born, blessing me with the unparalleled life-long experience, education, and enjoyment of rural Bucks County. The farm was the long-time home of my family’s nationally award-winning herd of pedigreed Ayrshire dairy cattle. The extraordinary natural beauty of the farm and its valley have influenced my life's pursuits, from childhood love of the outdoors to adult avocations of gardening and nature photography.
Why they chose this property
Inheriting this piece of heaven on earth is an extraordinary privilege that I treasure and am pleased to share with those who also appreciate the joys of country life in a very special place.
What makes this property unique
Favorite moments....waking to see the mists rising over Cooks Creek and the meadows beyond...shopping for local culinary treats and cooking up wonderful country meals...walking the farm's totally private paths, fields, and gardens...retreating to the study to write or catch up on email...having lunch on the front terrace overlooking the creek...perusing books in the library and curling up to read in the 'hearth' room...napping in the hammock...watching birds at the feeders...sipping evening drinks with friends around the firepit on the garden terrace, as the deer wander by...sitting down with family to a tantalizing, candlelit dinner...settling into the TV room for a favorite program or a good movie...watching billions of stars in the black night sky...nestling into a cozy bed and dozing off to the faint hoot of a waking owl.
