Countryside in Paris
An architect house like an island facing water and nature.
An Architect-Designed on the Banks of the Seine. This remarkable floating home is located on an arm of the Seine, just to the west of Paris. Designed by a local architect, it's part boat and part house, with two levels, double-height windows and large decks designed to make the most of its enviable location. You'll find it in Neuilly-sur-Seine, one of the most salubrious and artistic neighborhoods in France. Anaïs Nin was born here, Édith Piaf lived here, plus countless painters from Kandinsky to Monet have been inspired by its beauty. As well-trodden as the neighborhood is, however, the setting is also a very private one, with sweeping views, water birds for companions and a gentle rocking motion to remind you where you are. Surprisingly, it's also a very large space, with three en-suite bedrooms that sleep up to six guests, and all modern comforts. This vacation home for rent in Paris is perfectly located to enjoy the big city and get away from the urban bustle. Bathed in light all day, its expansive decks provide a great base for breakfast, afternoon sunbathing, and aperitifs at sunset. At 245m2, this split-level vacation home for rent in Paris is unexpectedly large. The ground floor has an open living space with a lounge overlooking the Seine through a 6m-high window. There is also an open kitchen and a dining area which links directly to the terrace. There is one suite with its own shower room, a weight room with Techno Gym equipment, a separate toilet, and a pantry/laundry area. Upstairs, there are two suites. The first has a private bathroom and terrace. The second has a shower, Jacuzzi and direct access to the upper deck. There is also an office area and additional toilet. AROUND Neuilly is immediately adjacent to Paris to the west and is considered its 21st arrondissement. It's the perfect location for enjoying all the sights of Paris. The Bois de Boulogne is minutes away, and if you take Metro line 1, you'll be on the Champs Élysées in 15 minutes and at the Louvre in 20. But the town also has its own attractions, including an impressive number of parks, like Île de Puteaux directly opposite the house, and Île de la Jatte, with its famous Temple de l'Amour, built in 1773 on the southernmost point of the island – a spot which has inspired many artists. In fact, you can follow the Parcours des Impressionnistes, a 4km walk round the island that displays reproductions of 10 famous paintings in the locations that inspired them, including works by George Seurat, Alexandre Nozal, Vincent Van Gogh, Claude Monet and Alfred Sisly. There are also several notable historical buildings in Neuilly itself, like the Church of St Jacques with its large fresco of the Transfiguration of Christ.
