Very comfortable cabin with a nice view from the back deck
We enjoyed our 2 night stay and are planning to come back in a few months for a longer stay. The cabin seemed to have everything we needed, except for some chairs and a table for the back deck. This ended up not being a problem as portable fold up chairs were provided for use on the deck. Overall it is a very comfortable cabin with a nice view off of the back deck.

Worth it for the view from the hot tub alone!
Visited the cabin for New Years and had a great time. The cabin is a nice, cozy getaway for groups or couples. There is space for everyone to spread out with plenty of beds to choose from. The living room was cozy and had a great time watching movies and playing games. The cabin has all the amenities including linens and all the kitchen necessities. One highlight was the hot tub on the balcony overlooking a lovely view of the Sierras. There is shopping, including Safeway, an easy drive away from the cabin. The area is quiet and tranquil and we had a lovely stay. I would definitely stay at the cabin again.

Not as expected
Decided to book the house according to the previous reviews. The price was decent and the owner quick to respond. But the overall impression was not as expected. First thing that was unexpected is that the pictures don't match the house - by that i mean one bedroom is shown with two beds, when in reality they moved the bed outside the room above kitchen. Luckily it did not interfere with our group' plans. 2nd thing - the house was not fully cleaned. We found quite of dog hair on the floor, carpet and furniture, including the bed. That made us pay much more attention to what our 3 kids were doing during our stay there.
Beside that everything else was as described. For that - 3 out of 5.

The perfect rental for a personal or business getaway in the Tahoe-Truckee area!
We truly enjoyed our stay in Adrian's wonderful Truckee home! It is conveniently located close to town yet in a quiet, very scenic and serene environment. The layout was perfect for our needs -- two downstairs bedrooms and a bathroom (ideally, one bedroom had a desk and great internet access which was perfect for my "temporary office"), an upstairs master bedroom with king size bed and bathroom, an appealing carpeted landing area with a panoramic view that would work well for accommodating another guest, downstairs full kitchen, dining room and living room, all with nice windows and great view. The deck with hot tub is private and has a wonderful view of surrounding wooded area. I needed help with internet access for a critical work project -- no luck talking with servers -- called Adrian on his cell and he amazingly talked me through solving a very high tech problem by phone! Adrian's Truckee cabin/home is the perfect place for a vacation, rejuvenating home base while on a business trip or for a reunion/get together with friends and relatives. Cost is more than fair compared to other lodging in the Truckee area. Although we didn't have pets with us, the property is very pet friendly which is definitely a plus for travelers. I highly recommend this rental and look forward to returning in the future.

Hey Carole - Glad everything worked out, thanks again for the glowing review:). --Adrian
My family loves to hike and boulder, but much of the US is too hot and humid to climb in the summer. The elevation of Lake Tahoe is perfect for summer bouldering. Needing a home base for a month, we turned to Vrbo and found this amazing cabin. It was as advertised. The beds were very comfortable and offered great night sleeps. The large couch and additional seating was great for crashing after a tough day, and the Roku was a nice touch for streaming. We also loved the large dining table where we shared meals, and the hot tub for relaxing on cooler nights. As a swimmer, I was also thrilled to have access to the Trout Creek Recreation Center. Here I was able to swim in a beautiful, heated, outdoor pool.
The cabin’s location in Truckee was ideal. It gave us easy access to the I-80 corridor, and the west and south coasts of Lake Tahoe. We even made an easy, overnight trip to San Francisco while staying here. Adrian was great with communication and ensured our trip was fantastic. Thanks for sharing your cabin - we built lots of great memories here!
We were very pleased with our stay at Adrian's cabin. It was comfortable and a perfect size for our family of 4. The view from the deck is beautiful and gets the morning sun. It feels very private and not crowded in by neighbors. We hope to return for another visit.
The classic mountain cabin, with amazing views, great beds, loved the layout with the high ceiling and was warm and cozy even with all the windows! Hot tubbing on the deck looking out at mountains all around - you feel a million miles away from home - the perfect getaway!
Adrian's lovely home was absolutely perfect for our family. We felt at home from the moment we walked in the door, and the panoramic view of the mountains from the living room was spectacular. The house had everything we needed and some really fun additions that we appreciated, like a record player with some groovy vinyl, games and toys. There was even a pizza in the freezer which we wolfed upon arrival (thanks Adrian!) We searched high and low for a good place to go sledding and ended up finding the perfect place - the backyard!
It's always so great when the property you rented is true to the pictures you saw on VRBO. This property was very comfortable, clean, had everything we needed, and Adrian, the owner, was great at communication. We had two families and there was plenty of room for all of us. Our kids went sledding in the backyard and had a blast. We will definitely rent this property again.
This is a great cabin. Adrian the owner is great to deal with. We have rented it four times now and will come back again.

The perfect place to stay in Truckee!
We have stayed at Adrian Brown's Truckee House for several years. Its conveniently located in a lovely, wooded area close to town, peaceful setting and comfortable accommodations with all needed amenities. I especially value that Adrian is always available via phone, text or email to assist with questions. His pricing is also very fair. I highly recommend this property! Carole B., a happy traveler

Great Little Cabin!
Perfect for our needs. The location and price were great. The pictures are spot on. It is an older cabin and could use some essentials such as hand towels and and a full set of kitchen ware (plates, silverware, and glasses), but for what you pay you can’t get any better. Adrian was amazing to deal with and very responsive. Will definitely point my friends to this place in the future.

Fantastic, truly child friendly house!
We loved staying here! Well equipped kitchen, clean upon arrival, beautiful view out back, and I really felt safe with my 2.75 year old--who found tons of great toys to play with and books to read in the evenings. We look forward to staying again next year!

The perfect place to stay in the Truckee-Tahoe area!!!
Adrian's Truckee house is the perfect place to stay in the Truckee-Tahoe area. Whether on a business or pleasure trip, his house is ideal. Located in a nice, quiet, safe neighborhood with panoramic view of trees and mountains, Adrian's Truckee house is a short drive from Donner Pass Rd. and the town of Truckee. The house has three nice bedrooms, two bathrooms, a well designed kitchen, a comfortable living room, laundry room and a great deck with a hot tub and wonderful view. The house has high ceilings which add to its charm. A well written guest book is available on the kitchen counter, detailing all the things one needs to know while staying at the house. Internet access is strong and convenient. Dogs are welcome! Adrian's rates are more than fair in relation to hotels and other lodging in the area. He is also always available when guests have questions or special needs. I highly recommend this house and look forward to staying there for many more years to come! Carole B., a happy guest

It's becoming tradition
This is our third time to stay in this charming cabin, and I suspect it isn't the last. Our kids love it here and we do too. The owner has provided many thoughtful amenities such as games, Netflix, the hot tub on the deck, towels, washer/dryer and a comfortable place to be. We love spending as much time as we can in the water at Lake Tahoe, and coming home to the quiet of Truckee. The town of Truckee is also a draw, and the Thursday night street fair is fun, too. This cabin is situated so beautifully with gorgeous mountain views off the deck. Oh, I should add that we don't bring a dog (nothing against them, just don't own one currently) and we have found the cabin to be clean and fresh each time.

Amazing!!!
This property is amazing, not only is Adrian super helpful, but he is also really easy to contact. It was a total of 3 families and a dog staying that weekend and at the end of the trip everyone was raving about how the house was perfect. Very well equipped with everything you could need, beautiful view from the back deck, and very quite. There was quite a bit of snow that had fallen during our trip, but snow removal was there every morning, and plenty of shovels were provided. I will definitely rent this property again and will also advise everyone one I know to do the same.
Thank You Adrian for letting us stay in your beautiful home.

Felt right at home!
We stayed at this cabin with lovely views over St Patty's Day weekend for some excellent spring skiing. This winter has seen very heavy snow in the Sierras. I wasn't sure what to expect when we arrived since the snow levels throughout Tahoe area were massive (literally covering homes and cars in the Soda Springs/Sugar Bowl area). We arrive to a clear area to easily park our car (with room for more), the walkway to the house was 100% clear of snow and so was the deck (which made easy access to the hot tub). The hot tub was a bonus apres ski and was situated overlooking the hillside below so we could catch a glimpse of distant mountain views and the beautiful trees. The bedrooms were all large and true to description (King and 2 Queens); all beds had comfy & warm thick comforters. Nice hardwood floors throughout. The kitchen was fully stocked with all you need to make your morning coffee & also cook a few meals on a typical ski week/weekend (pots, pans, mixing bowls, cookie sheets, cups, plates etc. & even had basics like salt/pepper/other spices, oil, etc). We had everything we needed! Ample paper towels/TP etc. Beach & Bath Towels were provided. The board games were nice for the kiddos and the TV/entertainment was great (especially since it was March Madness and my husband was eager to watch the basketball games). I know it says the cabin is dog friendly and, for the record, I didn't see a single dog hair anywhere!! It was very clean. We love Tahoe Donner & Donner Ski Hill (got lucky when they served free banana splits on Saturday afternoon) and would definitely look to stay at this cabin again. Thanks Adrian!

Cozy and pleasant stay
The property was as advertised/shown in the pictures. Loved the view from the entire downstairs! Hot tub was relaxing. We made some great meals and although the kitchen could use a little updating and the shower heads were probably for someone 5ft tall everything worked and I had no complaints. Thanks for your hospitality!

Excellent Stay!
Our family loved the winter wonderland weekend! The house was comfortable and had all the amenities we needed and could want. In particular, i enjoyed the wonderful old fashioned fireplace, the hot tub (which worked well!!) the view, and the location. The only drawback was that the master bedroom showed a second bed, which we planned to use, and when we arrived the bedroom had only one bed. We worked it out using what was there and it wasn't a big deal, but something to keep in mind when booking. Thanks for the great communication Adrian!

We had a fabulous time. It snowed the first day and it was so peaceful and quiet.
It was just a perfect stay. It has been a long time since we have been to the snow and we forgot what it was like. When we had no power for several hours, luckily we had the wood provided to keep the fire going. The second time the power went out it was for a longer period and we spent the night in front of the fire. The dog loved it and couldn't understand why we were not upstairs like the first night. We heated our dinner on the wood stove and it was so romantic. My husband and I and the dog loved our stay and everything was so perfect. Thank you Adrian for sharing your place with us. Cute, Clean & Comfy
Super cute, clean and comfy! I had a foot injury our first day so had to stay in the cabin more than planned, and it was no hardship, so lovely watching the snow flakes fall outside the big A-frame window while sitting next to the fireplace! Very calm, sort of Scandinavian feeling place. And so happy we could bring our dog!

Beautiful cozy cabin
Adrian's cabin was very beautiful, clean and cozy. The kitchen was stocked full of everything you need and it also included toys for your furry friend. The view from the outside porch was spectacular mountains views. There was an issues with bees taking over the porch, but we found the bees were all over the different parts of the town, not just the house. Also the hot tub jet was very weak and appeared like it's not working. I also recommend white linens and towels for future guests, top bedroom bed cover had dog hair on it.
We all did enjoy the place and would certainly recommend it.
Tatyana P.
Response from VrboOwner on 20 May 2020
Hey Tatyana - Thanks for the review and feedback! We were up at the cabin this weekend so I have some answers:). Regarding the bees, they are actually yellow jackets and apparently are around for 1-2 weeks in the summer in random years, not just the deck but anywhere in the area people are eating food, specifically meat. Reason I mention is we ran into the same problem when we went to Pizza on the Hill, apparently they are attracted to meat, who knew...people next to us had a veggie pizza, no issues! For the hot tub, looks like the last guests had rotated each of the jets off so that is probably why you experienced weaker jet action. I'll make sure to better highlight those instructions in the guidebook. Thanks again. --Adrian

Felt like home, well cared for, staggering views, comfy hot tub
We truly enjoyed our stay at this lovely spacious 3/2. It is well cared for, clean, has great amenities like hot tub, d/w, washer/dryer. It's a very comfortable home. We loved the hot tub and the staggering views. The dog loved having the two decks and yard to explore. There was even a doggie gate to keep him from going up to the Street. Internet worked great. I reco you bring your alexa speaker, or other portable stereo device if you like music, otherwise you'll have the TV satellite radio, which is still nice. I will definitely stay here again--great summer, spring/fall rental!
