About this property
Luxury Waterfront Retreat • Treehouse, Hot Tub & Fireplace
Heron Pond Hideaway is a stunning and spacious, newly decorated, beautiful home on 5 wooded acres in the Adirondacks, perfect for family reunions or getaways with friends and business associates!
Reminiscent of the Great Camp style of the Adirondacks, this beautiful lodge features stained-glass windows, gorgeous wood coffered ceilings, cherry wood trim and built-in custom cabinetry. A soaring stone fireplace graces the cathedral ceiling of the Great Room, and each of the six comfortable private bedrooms is creatively themed.
The large, fully-equipped “chef’s” kitchen is an entertainer’s dream with plenty of counter space, 2 sinks, Wolf gas stove with 4 burners and a center griddle for Saturday morning pancakes, and large refrigerator with wine drawer. The breakfast nook and bar will seat 10-12. And off the kitchen, the lovely formal dining room can seat another 10 (with additional folding table and chairs provided). Our separate family room with kids area includes 65" flat screen tv, Roku, wifi, foosball table, and plenty of games and books, with an additional Game Room for playing pool and mixing cocktails at the bar--everything you could want in a mountain get-away!
Six bedrooms (2-Kings, 1- Queen, 1- Queen and Twin, 1- Full and attached room with 1- Full and 3-Twins) provide plenty of privacy and solitude for a large group. An additional daybed is available on 2nd floor balcony. We think good sleep is key on a vacation so all of our King/Queen beds are memory foam with a soft and firm pillow for each guest to choose from. (Full and twin beds have one pillow per guest). The bed linens are high quality, high thread count, 100% breathable cotton and every bedroom has room darkening blinds and/or curtains for sleeping in. For better quality sleep, we keep the bedrooms cooler, but for those who need it, we provide thick wool or fleece blankets for snuggling up so everyone is at a happy temperature.
In summer, take a cooling dip in the spring-fed swimming pond or let the kids spend hours exploring our 5 acres of woods or playing in the huge, screened treehouse. Everyone can enjoy the hiking and jogging trails (Moxham Trailhead is less than a mile from the house) or the propane grill, picnic table, basketball court with adjustable hoop height, soccer/volleyball field and campfire area.
Centrally located in the Adirondacks, you’ll find you are a short drive from almost anything your nature-loving heart desires. Beautiful Minerva Beach is just minutes away (1.5 miles from the house) with lifeguard on duty and offers kayak, canoe and paddle board rentals, food stand, tennis & basketball courts. Nearby activities include white water rafting, mountain biking, trout fishing, glass blowing classes, cave exploring, garnet mining, water tubing, the Rev Rail Co and more! As a landing base for day trips, Lake George is 36 minutes away and Lake Placid is 80 min.
In the winter, ski at Gore Mountain just 15 minutes away. Or try the full-service Nordic Center at Garnet Hill for cross country skiing and ice-skating. Snowshoe right out the door of Heron Pond Hideaway! There's also snow tubing, snowmobiling, ice castles, hunting, ice fishing, hok skiing and kick sledding! And after a long day, you’ll relax in our hot tub under a romantic sky full of stars (hot tub not available May 1- Labor Day).
Additionally, we have a wonderful caretaker who lives above the Carriage House on the property and is available for emergencies or other urgent maintenance needs. He plows and sands the driveway through the winter months so you can always be first to the lifts!
The beauty of our cabin is that it is quiet and private, located off a main road and down a gravel road. And as you have no doubt noticed, the weather is very unpredictable these days. Snowy one day and sun shining the next. While the town and our caretaker do an excellent job, the quick change in weather can cause the short non-paved road to our cabin and our steep driveway to become icy or muddy. This most frequently can happen during the late Winter/early Spring. We recommend AWD and driving with caution during these times of the year.

Perfect Winter Getaway!
Our family of 13 had another wonderful stay at Heron Pond. The house has everything needed for big groups to spend quality time together without feeling on top of each other. Fantastic location minutes from Gore mountain. And the hosts are super accommodating, responsive and helpful whenever needed. We’re so so grateful for finding this house and it’s wonderful owners!

Winter stay
A well appointed and clean house with lots to do. We appreciated that the owner checked to ensure all was well. It was our second time at the house and would definitely recommend. We were two families - four adults and six kids and the house was plenty big enough.
I go on a trip with the same group of friends 2x per year and this was by far our favorite place we've been. The house and property were amazing, host communicated super well and everything went very smoothly. We are grateful to have stayed here and highly recommend!

We’re honored to be your favorite spot yet! Thanks for the kind words—we’re so glad the house and property worked well for your group. For your second trip, come and ski with us this winter!
Clean, well maintained house with great amenities. Lots to do in area, but lots to do at the house in case outdoor activities are cancelled due to weather. Our kids adored the tree house.

Amazing property and excellent communication from the owner! We would definitely recommend this property for families. The kids loved hanging out around (and in!) the pond and are already asking when we can go back. It was a great week well spent relaxing and having fun adventures with family.

Thanks so much! We’re so happy the property was a hit; we love hearing the kids are already asking to return—that’s the best compliment we could get. :) Hope to host you again soon!
Had a wonderful time! The house was very clean and had everything we needed for a week long stay. The bedrooms are lovely and the kitchen is fully stocked with everything you may need. The property is serene and the chairs on the back deck are a perfect place to sit and relax. Kids really enjoyed fishing in the pond and playing foosball. Donnelly Beach is just down the road - we rented canoes and paddleboards to explore Minerva Lake. Adirondack Railbikes and Beaverbrook Outfitters (we did the tubing trip) are conveniently located near the house and we enjoyed them both.

Thanks Kenny ... we set up our home so guests can walk in, drop their "stuff" and begin enjoying the beautiful setting and area where we are located! Connecting with our guests is important to us so no question is left unanswered during their stay. We look forward to hosting you in the future! Mindy & Don
I have a group of friends that have been going on a yearly ski trip for 7 years now. We stayed at Shannon's house last year and loved it so much we booked it again this year for our trip. The place is so clean and cozy, and Shannon and the caretaker at the property and so friendly, responsive and helpful.

Our group of 12 - 6 adults and 6 kids - had more than enough room to hang out apres ski! Beautiful home, and thanks to our host Shannon for quick responses. Huge shout out to the caretaker Ronnie, who helped us out during a car emergency our first night there - very kind and incredibly appreciated (it was close to midnight, too)!!! Loved the house, we would come back in a heartbeat!

We loved this home and would happily return. It's beautifully decorated and very comfortable for large groups. It was just what we were looking for in terms of a great place to stay with two families on a ski weekend (although it could have easily accommodated more people). It was so cozy and beautiful!

About the host
Hosted by Shannon Sadik
This is a family-owned and run home. It is a fabulous place to bring children - a quiet location with a lot of wildlife to see. We have a large family and have many get-togethers here throughout the year. The kids love playing in the treehouse and swimming in the pond when they aren't catching frogs! In winter, we ski at nearby Gore Mountain, go sledding or step into cross-country skis and don headlamps for after-dinner expeditions through our woods.
Why they chose this property
We fell in love with this cabin and the land because it reminded us of our childhood when we played and pretended outdoors for hours on end. My favorite thing is the treehouse! I would have LOVED this as a kid! It also has space for everyone in our family to come for family reunions--and we have a big family! Our cabin is also completely private and secluded, but is still very centrally located. There is so much to do within a short drive. Even Lake George and Lake Placid make for great day trips.
What makes this property unique
Heron Pond Hideaway offers a rare combination of privacy, comfort, and nature. Set on five secluded wooded acres with a private spring-fed swimming pond, this Great Camp–style lodge invites guests to unwind, explore, and reconnect with family and friends.
The home features multiple living areas, a soaring stone fireplace, and a fully stocked chef’s kitchen perfect for shared meals. Expansive front and back porches with Adirondack chairs, a cozy lit campfire area, and a 300 sq. ft. screened treehouse create spaces for gathering or quiet relaxation.
Challenge each other to a game of pool, foosball, basketball, or cornhole on-site. Explore private trails, wildlife, and the natural beauty surrounding the lodge. The hot tub under the stars and the pond provide relaxing escapes after a day of outdoor adventure.
Centrally located, the lodge is just 15 minutes from Gore Mountain Ski Resort, 1.5 miles from Minerva Lake, and within easy reach of hiking, biking, whitewater rafting, and scenic Adirondack destinations. Whether you’re skiing, paddling, hiking, or simply soaking in nature, this retreat balances activity, comfort, and serenity for an unforgettable stay.
Heron Pond Hideaway is more than a home—it’s a place to create lasting memories, reconnect with loved ones, and enjoy the Adirondacks in comfort and style.
