Cozy cottage off the beaten path.

This is an ideal cottage for a family of 3-5 wanting the tranquility of a rural area. The host thought of everything, from s'more's supplies to pantry staples to beach towels and chairs. They even provided an instant pot just because I asked for it. If being convenient to Oak Bluffs is important to you, perhaps consider another location as traffic in August is annoying and parking is scarce. That being said, it was very nice to come home to our peaceful cottage at the end of the day.

Everything was fine with the cottage. However, it would be great if the owner provided more towels and washcloths! We would have been in trouble if all 4 of us had been able to come to West Tisbury as originally planned. In addition, it would be great if you provided a hair dryer and an iron for your renters’ use in the future!

I grew up on the Island. My grandfather hand-built this house when I was just a toddler, and various parts of my family have lived here for over 50 years. My wife and I took over ownership of the house last year, and we have been putting a lot of TLC into it, so that others can make the kinds of special memories that I am lucky to have.

Why they chose this property

It's a very quiet, rural, woodsy area, but is still close to the beach, town, restaurants, etc. It's an amazing way to enjoy the island, but also escape from everything.

What makes this property unique

I like to think that having a drink or smores on the deck at the end of a beautiful day, looking at the pasture, brings a special calm that can't be duplicated.
