This cottage is an excellent place to escape the hustle and bustle for a quiet weekend away. The surrounding area has plenty to entertain you including wineries, golf courses, cycle trail and not forgetting the beach and lake just a stones throw away.

The cottage is well-equipped 3 bedroom with 2 bathrooms, a sun room and a spacious garden overlooking Lake Erie. There is easy access to the main beach just 1 min walk away.

The downstairs of the cottage features a fully equipped kitchen, dining room, lounge, bathroom and a spacious and light sunroom. Upstairs there is a master bedroom overlooking the lake and two other double bedrooms, and a second bathroom. All bedrooms have queen beds and ceiling fans. In addition to the 3 queen beds, the down stairs sofa pulls out to make a double bed.

The spacious garden gives you uninterrupted views of the lake.

Family weekend

We arrived and the place is huge ,so nice. The pictures don't do it justice at all. Modern clean nice everything is where you need . We had a great time and would book for sure in the future !

Beach Getaway

We had super hot weather during our stay so the AC was very appreciated! All beds were very comfy, lots of space both inside and outside the cottage. The cottage had everything we needed. Amazing views and right next to the public beach!

Picturesque, great for long weekends

We visited with family friends. Enjoyed the BBQ and the fire pit very much. The cottage has everything a group would need during a long weekend. There's a nearby playground as well for little guests. Be careful as the hot water in the shower was tricky for the teenagers with us. I showered easily. Monique was very quick to help with our BBQ questions. It was a very pleasant stay overall.

Family Girls Weekend

Great retreat on the lake

We had a great and relaxed time with friends on the lake. Monique was responsive and the house was fully equipped with everything we needed to dine/play both indoor and outdoor. Will definitely recommend.

Relax and Replenish

We had the most wonderful holiday week at this beautiful lake front home. Everything about it was more than expected. Reading eating relaxing short walks comfy beds and lakefront lounging. Thank you again!

Great Cottage and Location

We loved our Stay, 3 couples for a weekend getaway after our golfing weekend to the United States fell through. The cottage was clean and we found it exactly as advertised. Some very interesting decorating through out this well maintained home. It is easy to tell that Cathy takes great pride in and care of this cottage. Lots to do in the nearby area, wineries, restaurants and antiques. Something for everyone. The beach looks so inviting, too bad it was Fall and the weather not suitable for the beach. We will have to return when the weather is better. We had a great time .... we will be back!

No beach access, other tenants on property (disruptive and rude)

Listing is completely fraudulent. "Easy beach access" includes a 3 foot drop off of a rusty step ladder onto wet slippery rocks. Completely unsafe and unusable. Luckily, there is a beach nearby so the entire trip wasn't ruined. House was messy and covered in bugs. We had to clean before we could even any of the outdoor furniture or kitchen. Host also didn't inform is until after we had passed our refundable date that there would be other tenants on the property. These tenants were loud and disruptive and rude. We also parked in the designated parking spots and our car was hit by something and caused major damage to the driver side door. Not sure what the host wanted us to do with the linens. As per her instruction we left all the linens in the laundry basket by the washer and dryer but now I'm getting additional cleaning fees for making them do "extra laundry". Overall a bad experience, save the effort and rent somewhere else.

Just what we were looking for

This house was perfect! Beautifully updated, with new and/or newly refinished wood flooring upstairs and downstairs, faucets, showers, and fresh paint. Each room retains its "Arts and Crafts" architectural charm, with beautiful wood trim. Both the living room and the master bedroom have gas fireplaces with remote-controlled thermostats (including hand-held remotes). We loved the enclosed sun-room at the back! Oh, and I appreciated the irony of the rotary phone on the telephone bench (gossip seat), right next to the wireless modem. :-) Outside, enjoy a spectacular view of Lake Erie, swing on the sturdy swing set (this reminds me of the one we had at my home in Kingsville 50 years ago!),and toast marshmallows around the new fire-pit in the evening. The entrance to Colchester Beach and a great splash pad are only two doors down, and there is an ice cream shop less than 10 mins walk away. Honestly, I can think of only two caveats: the mayflies (late May through end of June), and the fact that the air conditioner is only on the lower level. The mayflies can't be helped ... Lake Erie (both the Canadian side and the US side) is known for them, and they are completely harmless. The AC being only on the lower level is really only an issue if the outside temperature is really hot (upper 80's F / 29C), as there are excellent ceiling fans in all the upstairs bedrooms that do a great job of cooling the rooms. In addition, only about half of the homes in this area have AC at all. I was born in this area, and this trip was not only the first time I'd been back for 38 years, but also an opportunity to show my American-born daughters "my Canada." I'm so glad that they were able to play on the same beaches that I did, and experience the same things I did when I was even younger than they are now. Thank you, Cathy, for a wonderful experience (and the wine!) :-)

Monique's cottage is a very cute home with AMAZING views of the lake. It can't get better. It's exactly as per the listing. The sun room facing the lake was our favorite spot, besides the fire pit outside. The main bedroom overlooks the lake too. The home has all the amenities, one can ask for and its kept clean. The property is right next to the beach too. Had a chilled out time in the cottage. Communication with Monique was very prompt too!

I personally didn’t stay, my daughters, son-in-law and my granddaughters stayed. They absolutely loved it! The weather was perfect and the Firepit was enjoyed. They thought there had been an issue with the dishwasher, for which we called Cathy. But then they believe they figured it out.Hopefully all is well with the house - I didn’t get a chance to see it.Thank you for a wonderful weekend!!

Great location! House is great!

House is clean, modern and well kept. Right next to beach which is very convenient. Coming in June was not prepared for the may flies. They do not bite but are annoying. BBQ in excellent shape. Hosts were great with communication. Rooms are great especially the master bedroom.

Girls Getaway Weekend

This was the second time (3rd for one of us) staying at this property. The house offered a lot of space for everyone to relax and spread out. The proximity to wineries, stores and good food was perfect. The view from the back yard was beautiful. It was a wonderful weekend. Thank you!

Perfect!

This is the second time we have stayed in Monique’s cottage. It is absolutely perfect for our family. Water park and play structure for the children, wineries, road side stands and restaurants for the adults and a beautiful beach nearby. We spent many evenings sitting lakefront enjoying the view and the breeze. The cottage is well equipped providing us with everything we needed.

North Lake Erie getaway

7 of us comfortably fit in this home on a beautiful lakefront property. Beach was a <5 minute walk. Wineries close by. The place was well equipped. The only suggestions would be to add more spices besides salt and pepper, and offer some shampoo/conditioner. Would definitely book again!
