This house is a perfect vacation home with everything you could ask for ... including Tetley tea bags and Folger's coffee. The kitchen is roomy with a big table and four chairs. The beds are super comfortable and bedrooms are all large with lots of closet space and coat hangers to put your clothes away. Two bathrooms mean everyone has some privacy. And the back patio has a fire pit ... the owners leave this whole area rustic and leafy. The fridge is large and the freezer has bucketsfu of ice cubes! Cheers to an incredible and fun week! Thank you so much David and Samantha!

We needed a property for all ages of adults and this was perfect. Location was perfect for getting around as we had a car but then us was around the corner and many sights were walkable from this location.

3rd time staying here and it’s starting to feel like our NewFoundland home. Incredible location - several walks up Signal Hill during the days and easy access to restaurants at night. Everything is made easy at check in, everything is clean and bright.Perfect fall weekend - thanks again.

Excellent location and beautiful home

This was our first time staying here but we would definitely come back. The house is perfectly located next to downtown and coffee shops while being just out of the way enough to feel homey. The bedrooms, living area and kitchen are beautiful!

This was a great place to stay! I was in town for a conference and made a family vacation out of it. There was plenty of space for our family of 4 (including two kids, both under 10) and the grown ups really enjoyed the bedroom suite that spanned the entire 3rd floor. The space was well kept, clean and tidy. No issues with any of the appliances, bathrooms, heating etc. Having a full-sized fridge and the option to cook meals was great, as eating out with young kids can get a tiring. Kids enjoyed watching their favourite shows while eating breakfast each morning. The board games and puzzle were a great touch as well!Lots of great restaurants and coffee options (if you prefer a morning latte) within walking distance. The Filipino restaurant down the street got excellent ratings from my husband and kids! This was a great location for short walks to local attractions, and a short drive to many other sites. The hosts offered great suggestions for local attractions and food. They were very quick with responses Would definitely recommend this place to friends and family, and would gladly stay here again!

Our 1st and definitely not last visit to St Johns

We had a wonderful stay at the Wood House. We stayed there for 10 days in March, 2025.The house was perfect in several ways. The location was excellent. A very walkable location. We walked to mile 0 of Terry Fox’s marathon, George Street, walking the battery. It is a jelly bean house and brought a smile to our faces every time we opened the front door. The finishing were excellent. Excellent carpentry work, selection of colours, comfort of beds, heating system. The acoustic insulation made for a very quiet stay. We heard no sound from neighbours on either side. The amenities were excellent. Tremendous local selection of soaps and hair care products. The supply of coffee started the days off so well. The communication with hosts was excellent. Good website and communication throughout our stay.A fine accomodation for friends or family.

Lovely spot in a great location

Place was great, the layout inside and location especially. Fire pit/outside space was dirty and unkempt (in part from weather) but there were no items to tidy it with so we were unable to use it. Communicating with the host was fine as they were responsive when I booked, but I think it was AI or just automated messages after that as they didn't respond to my messages about there not being enough toilet paper for our stay nor to a small leak in the front window after heavy rainfall. We fixed/managed these things on our own but it was odd to not receive replies. Also there is a non-refundable damages fee even if there are no damages which is disappointing considering all the fees we paid separate to this. Would still recommend this place, and hopefully the owners will read this and consider our experience to make some small changes for future guests :)
