This is our 4th time staying here and it never disappoints! Great hosts, amazing location, awesome fishing, and perfect lake cabin. Honestly the highlight of our year getting out of the cities to some much needed solace.
We had such an amazing time! Fishing was fantastic, owners were the sweetest, very responsive and accommodating! We really are so thankful to have you share your special cabin with us, thank you!
We really enjoyed our time here. Was nice and quiet could read on patios for hours. Guys enjoyed fishing and caught plenty.

Had a wonderfull time.
Enjoyed the week with 7 persons: spacious, nice house with plenty of surrounding green. Clear, warm water with a piece of sandy shore. Appreciated the option to use boats and pontoon.

We very much enjoyed hosting Alex and his group. They left the cabin in wonderful condition and we would host them again anytime!!
We enjoyed the location and the unique cabin. However, the owner needs to replace mattresses and sofa. Both items were very uncomfortable.
Also, for the price we paid, we should not have be responsible for hauling our garbage home with us.

We really enjoyed hosting Jane and always strive for nothing less than a five star review. We usually receive overwhelmingly positive feedback on mattresses and replace them every season, but understand that different people have different mattress preference. We are always happy to manage recyclables, but given the nature of the property (private island, 45 minutes from nearest city), it is important that any garbage be removed immediately instead of when the cleaning crew arrives to prepare cabin for next guests. This is one of the most spectacular properties in Minnesota, but it requires a sense of adventure and the ability to manage powerboats to haul everything back and forth across the lake.
The lake was clear and clean, the beach area was nice and sandy, and the house itself was big and suitable for our family. It was completely private, with a pontoon ride to get to the island, leaving our cars on another property. I felt okay leaving them there though, since it was still quite isolated. I was glad we rented the pontoon for the week. They kept in touch throughout the week, so I felt if something came up they would be on it.

Relaxing and beautiful!
We had the BEST stay at this lovely island home. My husband and I spent the week relaxing while our golden retriever had the most epic week of his life, wandering the woods and swimming in the lake. The owners (Mary, Brian, & Tyler) were very accommodating and made sure we had everything we needed for our stay. The home is comfortable and has gorgeous views of the lake out every window. The lake is quiet and SO clear. We caught sunfish off the dock and spent hours outside on the decks enjoying the incredible views. We even saw the Northern Lights one night! Wildlife is abound, including a resident eagle who was often seen soaring above looking for the next meal. This place is a true gem and we can't wait to return next year with our family!!

Beautiful, private lake retreat
Our vacation was everything we hoped for and more. The cabin was rustic in decor but with full amenities available. Our hosts were extremely generous, friendly, and obviously very concerned about us having a good time. For our purposes, this was a dream vacation, very private, our kids caught fish off the dock, located on a small but beautiful lake that was easy to navigate. We had young children here and being surrounded by the lake on three sides keeps you a bit on your toes but we expected this. I would let those who are hoping for a "Hilton" on a lake please keep in mind that this is truly a natural locale--the drive is through the woods; there are mosquitoes and other bugs outside; the cabin is on an island so has private well and sewer. One can tell the cabin is a well-loved family retreat. We were sad when our trip came to an end and hope to be able to visit again.

Genny and her family were our first guests to stay at the Island and we could not have been happier to host such a fantastic family. They were very good communicators and were very respectful of the property. They could not have left the cabin in better condition and we would be happy to host them again. Very thoughtful and responsible family that we would recommend to any other host. Thank you so much for spending your family vacation on the Island and for the very kind review.
This was exactly what I was looking for a true get away from it all. The island is beautiful, the whole property is very well kept and the cabin was just perfect! We visited in September, the lake was very quiet and the fishing was good, even caught some great fish off the dock. My kids enjoyed exploring the woods. Everyone was very helpful and amazing to work with. We will definitely be coming back!!!
We had a little bit of a problem checking in. Apparently the people before us left the place a mess. When the owner found out she was very gracious and gave us another half day to make up for it. The lake is beautiful and it is a deal being able to get the pontoon boat. There was hardly anyone on the lake and we felt safe. It was very peaceful. Overall a very nice stay.
We enjoyed our stay at the island, but had a little trouble lining up all the logistics and directions associated with bringing our own boat. We appreciated having Mary arrange for someone to meet us at the cabin, who was very kind and showed us how to navigate between the public launch where we left our trailer and the mainland parking. Once we got settled our stay was full of great fishing. The island shoreline and the drop offs were perfect for trolling for pike. We also caught many large bluegill and crappie. There were times when we were the only boat on the lake. We also enjoyed tubing and swimming off the platform. Everyone was very responsive and provided timely guidance when it was needed. As a small suggestion, it may be helpful to attach some pictures of the dock and the map of the island including the locations of the docks, parking, and public access for those who bring their own boats.
The lake and location are the best thing about this property. The water is crystal clear and having water on three sides of the cabin provides constant views, no matter where you are sitting. The owner provides several items that helped us avoid the need to run to the store. We had a great time.
We have been to this property twice now and loved both times. It's perfect for a week-long getaway from the cities. Good fishing, great property with swimming dock, kayaks, pontoon on a beautiful, minimally used lake. It's a perfect size house for our two families (4 adults and 4 kids age 4-9). Would highly recommend. Tyler and Mary and the other hosts we've interacted with have always been prompt and kind. Will definitely continue to go back!
This was the second time we rented this property. We love the privacy of the island and the freedom. The cabin has EVERYTHING you need and is well maintained. The kitchen is well stocked with spices and staples. All utensils and tableware are furnished. All we needed to bring weas ourselves, our personal items and our food.
The entire family fully enjoyed our stay at the island cabin! Even with a little weather here and there, every day was awesomely enjoyable! There was plenty of room for us 7 adults, three littles, and two fur babies and lots to keep us all entertained. And not to worry, if you forgot to pack it, it’s probably already there.
This was our second trip to the island. Love the quietness of the area. We had a bald eagle steal a fish from our catch. There was a mama otter and three babies we thoroughly enjoyed watching. The fishing was amazing and having the pontoon available made it so much easier. The only downside was the weather. It was beautiful the day we arrived but rained every day after that. But...the sunnys were plentiful and made for two great fish nights at the table. Highly recommend this island. Mary, Brian, Craig and Heather were so helpful in making sure everything was just right for us. Thanks to Tyler for staying on top of questions, etc. that we had. It has everything you need; stocked kitchen, plenty of firewood for cozy fires in the living room as well as fires outside at night. This place has everything you need for a great experience. We will definitely be returning to this island paradise.
The cabin felt more like a home than a rental house. Owners where great and hospitality. Was the most relaxing vacation ever. The watching of the Bald Eagles was a highlight treat. Great thank you from us all.
This is a wonderful, private island! I cannot say enough good things about this well maintained, wonderfully stocked, private get away. Crystal clear water, great fishing (even directly off the dock!) and a clean, beautiful cabin. Great communication with Mary and my kids (12, 14, 19 and 20) were requesting to reserve a spot for next year before we were even off the island. Highly recommend!!
This was everything predicted and so much more. The property was very clean and had everything we needed .With the 3 decks, there was always sun and shade, which ever we wanted. Being on a point of an island the breeze was wonderful and helped keep the bugs at bay. Mary was there to greet us and show us around. She also was available when we called. Thank you so very much!
Beautiful, secluded vacation spot that the whole family enjoyed!
A perfect place for a quiet, secluded, relaxing vacation! The whole family enjoyed fishing, kayaking, swimming, and bonfires at night. There's plenty of room for everyone to relax and be comfortable. Mary and Brian were excellent hosts. We had everything we needed, and they were always available when we had questions. Thank you!

Wonderful island cabin retreat!
We had a lovely week at the cabin and enjoyed boating, kayaking and swimming in the crystal clear waters of the lake. Our dog enjoyed exploring the woods. We loved hearing the loons and watching the bald eagles that nested on the island. The cabin was clean and well-stocked and provided many places for quiet reading or playing cards together. It was a perfect spot to spend a quiet, family vacation. We would definitely come back and have recommended it to friends and family.

Wonderful, pet friendly, secluded getaway.
We had a fantastic week on this island! It was everything we wanted, seclusion, northwoods, wildlife, clear water and great fishing. It was so quiet, except for the loons and trumpeter swans! Very little boat activity on the lake the week we were there. It was just the two of us and our two dogs, but there is plenty of room for a family.. Would be great for a family with small children, very kid friendly. The owners were great to work with, provided us with everything we needed and more. The kitchen is well stocked, lots of extra supplies and some staples. Two fridges and a freezer. Even some rain gear and bug spray, but the bugs were not bad at all and we really did not need it. The master bed is firmer than we like, but the view out the large bedroom windows makes up for it. Two docks, both with great fishing. Also great fishing just south east of the island (via boat). We caught lots of bluegill and crappie, and some perch and smallmouth bass. The pontoon boat is great for motoring around the lake. There is also a nice walking path up into the hill on the island. We saw mink and eagles on the island. The heart of the cabin is the stone fireplace, such a great way to take the chill out of the air. We did not use the TV, and did not use the internet much, but the WIFI worked well. This is a great vacation rental, we highly recommend it.

Beautiful, Quiet Island Oasis
We stayed at this beautiful island oasis the first part of August 2017 with out family, 6 adults and two young children. We found it to be well equipped with lots of books; toys for the grandkids and spices/condiments in the kitchen. Upon our arrival, Brian and Mary greeted us and brought us over to the island. Mary was very thorough in going over the basics of the home and showed us where everything we might need was. We had use of the pontoon, kayaks and even a small fishing boat. Fishing at Juggler Lake was great! Caught lots of sunnies, bluegills and bass. Clear and clean too!! The cabin is not too far from Itasca State Park where we enjoyed a day taking family pictures. It is a little ways to get to town to pick up supplies, so when planning a vacation here, plan ahead. They have a nice fire pit where we enjoyed most of our evenings, roasting marshmallows and hotdogs over the fire. It was a nice place to just get away for awhile, very peaceful. No resorts on the lake which made for a quiet week! We would HIGHLY recommend this place for your next vacation in Northern Minnesota. The only thing that they did not have available for us was an anchor for the boat, which we had to run in to town to purchase for ourselves.

Thanks so much, Carol, for the wonderful review; we are happy that you enjoyed yourselves so thoroughly. You will be pleased to know that the anchor has been replaced. Actually other guests had tossed it into the lake (without it being first secured to the boat 😳). 'Things' just happen sometimes. Enjoy your wonderful memories 😊!
