We had a wonderful stay at the Showboat!! The location on the river with the beachfront made it an extraordinary spot! The house was clean and comfortable, AC and all appliances worked well and the views from the house and deck were incredible. We will definitely rent again.
We absolutely loved our stay at the Showboat Riverfront house. The view of the river was so beautiful and the house & property are so unique and charming. The living room with the big windows looking out over the river was one of favorite parts. Having access to the private dock and semi private beach made our stay even more convenient. Communication with the host was great and always prompt. We will definitely be staying here again!!
I loved this house and the view over the Colorado River and California was outstanding! Beautiful sunrise and sunsets! I do believe this destination will be on this next winters calendar for me.
Nice house with a lot of history, as others have mentioned it's not modern and impeccably clean, however that's what brings it's charm. It's a wonderful house full of amazing history with a great property and gorgeous view. Would gladly stay again. The blacklight around the central fireplace/dining table was an unexpected bonus surprise!
Great property. The best house I have ever booked at Fishers/ Martinez. Unbelievable views from the living room and roof deck. The private sand bar and boat dock are the best amenities any house has in the area. Hands down would recommend coming here again!
The house was as listed, was perfect for our stay. Has old charm. Love the upper deck area at nighttime. The only thing I would note is that if you are towing a boat you can’t park it on the property due to space and location so make other arrangements to park the boat in the dirt lot when you first enter into the Martinez lake community.
We had the best time at the Showboat and can not wait to return! The location, semi private beach, lay out of the house and views from everyone window made for a perfect vacation for 2 families. We enjoyed the charm & history of the house. We’re able to manage with 4 kids ( 8-10) getting up & down the path ways no problem. The property manager was quick to reply. The dock was great for our sea doos, boat & fishing! As mentioned before- we can not wait to return! We really enjoyed our time. Thank you!
Great location and a semi-private beach. Loved every minute of it. We read some of the poor reviews about cleanliness and the state of the property. If you're going to the river looking for modern and clean this isn't the place, and you're doing it wrong. The only legitimate gripe I have is that there was construction happening on the beach, and the climb down was a bit treacherous, especially for the innebriated. I can't wait to stay here again!
Amazing river house... Right on the river! It's an older historical home, lots of informative info/photos on the walls that tells the story of this home. We had 2 young grand with us, so it was nice having our own private beach and walkway to get up and down to the water. We had our whole family of 10 8 adults & 2 kids.
3 bedrooms/3 toilets/3 showers worked nice for us! We brought all our own food and made awesome meals.
Wifi worked good, one of the gals had to work on her computer. The views, weather, homey home was perfect.
We did have to buy propane to bar b que on the rooftop.
We have many awesome photos to remember our stay.
I would prefer checking in earlier than 5pm!
We left this property much better than when we arrived, so we are happy for the next vacationers!
Many Thanks to Michele. She really helped us when we texted or called.
We are booking for 2022... can't wait.

House in terrible run down condition. Dirty and worn out linens. Terrible furniture and bathrooms.
Run down house and dirty floors and linens were worn out. Dog hair on blankets. Had to fill propane for bbq grill. Terrible condition. We were all dissatisfied by neglect of house. Trash at the beach on arrival. Kitchen utensils dirty and refrigerator not cold. Appliances dirty and old. Awful house.
The showboat was perfect for our family trip. Pleanty of parking for our 21ft. boat, 2 jetskiis with trailers and 4 vehicles. Location was great, my sisters 10 bed rented house was about 4 doors down and other family members stayed in the military cabins and the showboat was easy and big enough for all our 23 family members to gather and celebrate moms 80th birthday. The center turn table worked great for food and drinks plenty of seating with the 7 bar stools, 6 kitchen chairs, 2 recliners and large couch. This was an incredible and fun vacation, I planned this trip 13 months earlier and am super happy everything turned out perfect. The walk to the beach was easy both from the showboat and my sisters rented house. The trails to the beach were easy that my 5 year old grandson and 80 year old mom could go on by themselves. The beach area is shared with other property owners but we did have exclusive use the first day we were there. The bed in the master room is super comfortable. Sand is brought in easily so daily sweeping and vacumming is important.
The rugs all need to be taken outside and shook to get rid of all the collected sand. We cleaned the house better than we found it and love that place and look forward to returning one day. The views from both inside and outside are stunning. The river is so pretty and best in the early morning and late afternoon. Thank you Irwin for sharing your beautiful home with us. We hope to return again for another family trip.
Our family loved our time at the "Showboat ". Everything was just as advertised. The beach was amazing as were the views.

Liked: Check-in, location, listing accuracy
Disliked: Cleanliness
Beautiful place, poorly maintained, and you must ckean
The location is excellent, right on the lake, a short trail walk to the shore, and the property is 70's chic, but it had not been properly cleaned and dusted. Spiders, spider webs, and Cobb webs, and lots of dust
As a renter you have to clean the place, including loading and unloading the dishwasher, stripping the beds and taking the trash out before you go, or you dont get your deposit back. Unlike any rental I've ever had before.
Since the renter has to do all of the cleaning, I'm not sure what the cleaning fee was for, really.
The dishes, cooking utensils and pots and pans had to be prewashed before use, as there was food left on them, probably after the last renters ran them through the diswasher, which didn't do a very good job. Also the stove had food in the burners from the last meal cooked before our arrival.
For what I paid per night, plus a cleaning fee and deposit. I expected more for that price, but was sorely disappointed. Some of the linen had to be washed before use as well. And the washer and dryer are old and the dryer didnt work at first, but the lady who was supposed to keep the place informed me that you had to set it at a certain spot, then it would work, but we had to put something behind the control to keep the dryer on, once it actually started.
My family and I had a great time, in spite of the cleaning and dust and poorly maintained property and appliances, because of the lake and being together.
I did get all of my deposit back, but not the cleaning fee, even though we did all of the cleaning. The WiFi was terrible and we never did get any programming on the TV. Cell service was also horrible.
I hope this helps, knowing exactly what you're getting in to if you rent this place. Oh, and they wanted us to take the trash off the property to a dumpster somewhere. Not cool, not sanitary, with the kids and carseats. Not sure what they were thinking.
We had an awesome stay at The Showboat. The location really can't be beat. The house is on a cliff directly above the river, with easy access to Lake Martinez and Furguson. The best part is the perfect, sandy, "semi-private" beach directly below the house. This seems to be the only house with a beach like this in the entire area. We kept our jetskis parked on the beach (when not riding them) all day and moored them on the dock each night. There was also plenty of space for us to park 4 trucks, 3 of them with trailers, plus a golf cart that we rented. As far as the house itself goes, it has an odd layout and it is a bit older, but it has plenty of space and the views are amazing. I can't wait to go back. I plan on staying here regularly.
