Beachfront retreat review

We loved our stay at this rental, but the steep decline to the beach was too much for us with kayaks etc. We loved the deck, awning, beds were comfortable and everything we needed was there. Really great place.

Fantastic property

The property is well maintained and very clean. Everything we needed was there. It is down a long dirt road but road is in fairly good shape. The one room with single beds was uncomfortable for those using it. However, all other rooms and beds were great. There are some hiking trails around Rangeley.

A great week on Mooselook

This house fits our family. The main house is perfect for young parents and little kids. The apartment above the garage works for those of us without little ones. The weather was sunny and hot (high 80s) and without AC there was not much relief outside of the water, even the evenings were hot. But that's perfect for summer vacation. Our only complaint was that the main house could have been cleaned a little better (a little too dusty for our taste). The apartment was spotless though! Will be back again next year.

Great experience

Overall great experience. The house is excellent, plenty of places for people to sleep, beautiful back yard with room for activities. Private dock for boating and water sports. Would definitely rent this property again.

Beautiful, secluded getaway

We loved our stay at On the Rocks. The house was just as pictured and the views from the house and beach are incredible. When we visited (in early June) there were no neighbors in sight and we practically had the lake to ourselves! There were just 5 adults in our group so we had more than enough room. It's worth noting that one of the twin bedrooms is accessible only through another bedroom - this wasn't an issue for us but could be for others. We rented a pontoon boat and kayaks and thoroughly enjoyed exploring the lake, which is very large, very clean and not too cold even early in the season. Note: bring LOTS of bug spray!! We enjoyed the fire pit and private beach (electricity/lights at the beach were an added bonus), as well as the fireplace when it rained the first day. The location is very remote, so great for an "escape" from the city. However, we were dismayed to find there was no cell service at the house (the fact that a landline phone is advertised should have been a clue, I suppose), and the lack of WiFi was an inconvenience. Other than that, our only gripe was that the information in the booklet the rental agency provided was generic to all their rental properties rather than house-specific and we would have appreciated more details/instructions such as where to leave trash when we left, etc. We called the agency with a few questions and while they were friendly and courteous they didn't seem to have a lot of info on the house itself. The process for picking up/dropping off keys was extremely easy (if a tad inconvenient since it added time to our drive). Overall, it's an amazing place and I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

Great House and Beach

On the Rocks is in a beautiful wooded setting on Mooselookmeguntic. The site is private and picturesque. The house is clean, nicely decorated, and very comfortable. The views fof the lake are gorgeous upon entering the house. The kitchen is completely stocked with pots, pans, and all the utensils you need. The beds were quite comfortable and each room had wonderful charm. I would highly recommend this house. Morton and Furbish rental company did an excellent job helping us make our decision.
