About this property

Cozy lake-front home on crystal clear, all sports Long Lake in Hillman, MI.

Very comfortably appointed northern Michigan log home set on a spacious acre lot with 100 feet of private lakefront with easy walk-in access to crystal clear, spring-fed Long Lake. As you turn in the driveway that carries you through the lush green woodlands, you'll catch a view of the Mahogany colored, chalet style log home and the blue lake waters. Pulling up to the home you'll notice there is plenty of parking and open space to enjoy. The home has a wrap-around deck, which is covered on the lakefront side and has 4 Adirondack chairs and a nice picnic table that can accommodate 10 adults. On the main floor of the home are 2 bedrooms, a full bathroom, laundry closet, kitchen, dining area and family room. Both first floor bedrooms have queen beds, a chair and a flat screen smart tv. The first floor full bath has a shower. The kitchen is equipped with a refrigerator, oven, microwave and an electric cooktop on the center island. The dining table is a rustic log table with 2 end chairs and bench seating for up to 8 people. The family room has a 60" flat screen smart tv, recliner chair and a Lovesac sectional that comfortably seats 8 adults. Upstairs, the loft bunk room is furnished with 2 rustic, log double bunk beds. There is a second full bath with a shower upstairs as well. The loft, kitchen, dining area and family room all have lake views through the wall of windows and sliding door. Walk out the sliding door onto the deck and you'll enjoy the sweeping views of the lake and yard, which includes a stone fire pit. As you step off the deck and walk down the gradual slope to the lake, you'll notice there are several tree clusters that are perfect locations to hang your favorite hammock. At the shoreline is a small deck and a 60' dock that can accommodate a boat of your own. While the lake in front of the home is very shallow with the water at the end of the dock being approximately 3.5-4'' deep, the max depth of the lake is 90' deep. Walking out in the water approximately 50-60 yards from the shoreline and the water depth is still less that 6' deep. Straight out in the middle of the lake is a wooded island and is a favorite spot for boaters to anchor and enjoy the cool lake water. Looking for things to do away from the lake? Thunder Bay Golf Resort is just a 15 minute drive and provides a scenic 18-hole course and driving range. Alpena is quick 30 minute drive and provides a variety of options. We're fans of the Shipwreck Cruise touring through the Thunder Bay National Marine Sanctuary, Austin Brothers Brewery, and the ThunderBay Winery tasting room in downtown Alpena. Want to catch a flick? Check out the Sanctuary Cinema to see current films. A trip into Alpena would not be complete without a stop at Downtown Scoops for an ice cream treat. The lake house is also just 55 minutes from Gaylord and 1 hour and 20 minutes from Mackinaw City. Ocqueoc Falls, the largest waterfall in Michigan's Lower Peninsula, are just 40 minutes away and offer 6 miles of hiking and biking trails and 3 miles of groomed trails for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing in the winter. If you're wanting to arrange the quintessential "Up-North", Pure Michigan experience, look no further.
