We loved our stay here! The unit is spacious, comfortable and nicely updated, with all the amenities you need. It was perfectly located - close to our favorite coffee shop, beaches, and shopping. The host was very responsive and friendly.

Great Stay!

We had an amazing time at the Sugar Cottage. The house was very convenient, clean, and welcoming. We were in a great location for walking to the beach, restaurants and a quick drive to shops. We would definitely stay there again.

The location of this unit was very convenient to walking to two great beaches. The complex it is located in has wonderful trails. The unit itself is well appointed with nice amenities, comfortable furnishing and beds. Would recommend.

Perfect Location

Sugar Cottage was so sweet!!Everything advertised and more! The floor plan was incredible, clean , well stocked and great outdoor space! Close to everything and the AC was amazing!We would definitely recommend and hopefully we have the opportunity to stay here again!

We really loved staying at Sugar Cottage, it was perfect for our needs. The house was beautifully appointed and everything thing was in “like new” condition. The house was very convenient with beaches, pool, walks, tennis, restaurants all within walking distance. Honestly, the resort community the property is associated with and Poi’po beach (with such easy access) was a huge plus for us, really beautiful.The kitchen was very well equipped for cooking, although there were no small items like salt, pepper, oil etc that you often find with most rentals. There were beach chairs, umbrella, water shoes, boogie boards and snorkeling stuff in the garage, although we didn’t use them. Rear deck was very private and with the couches on the front deck, there were multiple outdoor seating options, which was perfect for relaxing. We would definitely recommend and would stay there again.

Great property

We loved the stay. Close to beach. Plenty of running/walking nearby. Overall we enjoyed. Only wish A/C kept the place cooler but it was still wonderful. A few gifts from owners were great. Happy we chose this location!

Great house close to the beach with walking paths directly to the beach. Nice linens, towels, toiletries, and a nice gift waiting for us. Very communicative and helpful host. Lots of beach toys in the garage. We left some fishing poles hoping others with more saltwater experience have luck catching something. Walking distance to many shops. Really pleased with our stay.

Wonderful for Groups

What a great little place! Split floor plan allows for the feeling of separate spaces with a communal kitchen. Patios and outdoor shower were perfect. Shampoo, conditioner and soaps provided were lovely, gentle, and smelled amazing. The pool was not located on site as you’d expect, but was about a half mile away or a ten minute walk. We did not end up utilizing the pool because of the distance.

This house is perfect for two couples or a small family. I booked for myself, daughter, son in law and grandson. We had plenty of space and the house was very baby friendly. There is two bedrooms, one with an en suite bath and one with the bath just outside the bedroom. My family stayed in the room with the bathroom outside of the room as to not wake the baby when showering etc. The location is perfect walking distance to the beach (baby/brenneckes) as well as a short walk to the Hyatt and Shipwreck beach. It a short drive to stores and other places! The house was clean and had everything we needed including beach chairs and towels. My daughter ordered a crib, highchair & stroller (jogger style) from babyquip and used the VRBO discount which was so good to have! I will happily book this again as this house was absolutely wonderful!

I found the cottage to be in a really nice location embedded in a resort/condo area that had access to a paved path which we walked each evening to the beach and say hello to the local cats. The house was described accurately, two large bedrooms and two bathrooms. The house came with a washer/dryer and lots of beach gear to borrow and a few kids toys. Wifi was also stable, no issues when my husband had to work a bit. The rental management team at Alekona Kauai were really responsive even on the weekends or after 5pm, so it was helpful. The only points of improvements to note is that the kitchen didn't have any salt or pepper, foil or cellophane, so you'll have to consider that when meal planning and grocery shopping. Directions for the pool were confusing because there are so many pools in the neighborhood with different access rules, a map would have really helped, or circling the pool on the map available in the cottage would help too.
