3-bdrm Oceanview Condo at Makahuena -Walk to Poipu Beaches- NEW Split A/C SYSTEM

Located in the "almost always" sunny, resort town of Poipu, on the gorgeous south shore of Kauai, this oceanfront complex is situated on the southernmost point of the island. From the edge of the dramatic cliffs, just above the crashing waves, you can watch the sunrise in the morning as well as the sunset in the evening, without even switching the spot your standing on! During the winter months, this is one of the best locations on the island for watching the whales that also make Hawaii their seasonal home.

This 3-bedroom, 2-½ bath, home is perfect for an island holiday with two families because there are 2 En Suite master bedrooms. (1 king, and 1 queen). Additionally, there is an enclosed loft with one full bed, and two twin beds. We also just installed a brand new ($29K) state of the art split A/C system. It's the most efficient type of a/c available, so this is now one of the most comfortable condos in the resort!

The entire home is newly outfitted with all-new island décor and furnishings. Enjoy the ocean view from the lanai, or stroll down to “the point” to see everything up-close. The Hawaiian sea turtles show off every day in the cove in front of the complex. The spinner dolphins also enjoy performing for your viewing pleasure. Additionally, in the winter months, you'll see Humpback whales playing, splashing, and breaching as they navigate around the point.

Makahuena is located in between the town's two main beaches. From the condo, it's less than a ten-minute walk to Poipu and Bennecke’s Beaches to the west. You can also hike east from our property along the cliff trail to Shipwreck Beach.

Some of the island's best dining, shopping, and attractions are just a stone's throw away, so we know you’ll be happy you chose this island home for your Kauai vacation.

The condo was well appointed and in a great spot. It was very easy to check in. The location was super close to shipwrecks and Poipu. Getting around the south side was a breeze. I’d recommend staying here if you want a central location on the south side.

Kauai is a beautiful island. We enjoyed the property very much. Loved the view, pool, jacuzzi, and pickleball courts! There were 6 of us and the condo was perfect. The 3rd floor bedroom could use its own bathroom however we made it work. For the price we definitely got a deal! Aloha!!!

This place exceeded our expectations! It was beyond perfect!Inside: We drank coffee out on the lanai every morning looking and listening to the beach. The kitchen is well stocked and people, along with ourselves, left extra stuff to be shared. The beds and pillows are very comfortable! If you open front screen door and lanai doors you get a fantastic cross breeze and don’t need the AC. The condo feels like home, although you know there are travelers it’s very quiet at night and not a party scene which we appreciated. Outside: We ran or went for a walk almost every day, the trail started right taking a right from the entrance and next immediate right. The pool and grounds were immaculate. I enjoyed the pool a lot for a non saltwater swim. You can easily walk to Poipu beach to the left or smoothie/fruit stand to the right…both about a half mile or little over. We loved Old Town Kōloa and Big Save is a great local store.This place was so unreal I’m already plotting my return before I’ve even properly unpacked. Also jealous at anyone who gets to go back before me, I want that spot. 10/10,

Wonderful stay! The views from the balcony were even better than we expected! We did see whales spouting in the distance! This condo is in a great location for exploring the beautiful island Kauai. Both Poipu and Shipwreck beaches are an easy 15-20 minute walk away. Our favorite hike/walk along the cliffside heritage trail could be enjoyed right from our door! No need to go anywhere to enjoy gorgeous sunsets … the views are amazing from the condo property. Great communication from the property manager, Chad. Clean, well stocked condo. We would definitely recommend to others!

I honestly do not understand this review at all ?? We use one of the best and most professional cleaning companies available on the island, and you'll notice by reading dozens of past reviews, there has never before been a negative review about cleanliness for this condo. Checking in at this condo couldn't be easier ... Guests are assigned a code for the lockbox well in advance of their arrival. They do not have to check in with a person or with an office... Simply walk to the condo, use the code, and walk in. If this guest had any real concerns, they could have called our 24/7 on-island representative, but we were never contacted during their stay.

We loved this location! We spotted whales several of the days right from the balcony, enjoyed walking along the rocks in front of the property and spent some time at the pool. The location especially in the winter is great- more sun on the south side of the island. The condo itself really had everything we needed, plenty of towels, detergent, beach chairs, etc. I will say if you are looking for a big kitchen with a lot of space, this isn't the place but it worked great for us. Beds were a hit and miss- everyone has different tastes. Overall, I'd stay here again in a heartbeat. Chad was also great and easy to communicate with.

Ever since Covid, I’ve gotten used to being a little disappointed in what you get versus what people are selling online. This was such a wonderful exception! The communication, the cleanliness and views from the condo, the beach chairs, and towels available for use… I’m already looking at trying to return to this authentically terrific condo next year.The AC worked great- we had some user error at first as we learned the remote controls, but no problems once we figured out the system.

Wonderful location in Poipu

We thoroughly enjoyed walking to Poipu Beach and Shipwreck Beach on a daily basis. Both were easy walking distance from the condo. Watching sunset from the property was wonderful as well.
