With an open floor plan and a well-stocked kitchen meal prep will be super easy and extremely social. Terrific base house!

Great house near the base of Timberline Mountain. Quiet, very clean and cozy environment. Been going to this area for several years to ski and this was one of the best spots we have stayed.

Wonderful stay at CR Mountain home!

We can't say enough about this lovely home. Very clean, spacious, comfortable beds, great showers, cozy decor, good location for hiking the nearby trails. We LOVED the family room with it's gas fireplace, comfy rockers, and great views. Also enjoyed the hot tub (appreciated the beach towels provided) and fire pit (bring your own wood). The Mountain Owl Market down the road is a great stop for grabbing lunch/coffee. Can't go wrong renting this home. Our family looks forward to returning.

With the Valley's expansion, there are so many different things to do, places to eat and places to explore. Lots of activities, along with relaxation for all members of the family from 80 years old to three years old!! An added plus is the house is always immaculate. Already looking forward to coming down next year.

Only suggestion I have is that there needs to be a guide on how to use the AC unit. We could not figure it out, but fortunately it did not get too hot, so we were ok. Last year when we stayed at Paradise Falls, we had the same experience. Instructions would be helpful. Thank you!

Cozy and clean

Very clean and cozy rental….we had issues with the hot tub not working but got it fixed on the second day of our stay. Only issue I wasn’t happy with was that the refrigerator filter was expired and upon contacting The Best of Canaan (managers of the rental) the lady at the desk wasn’t receptive at all and acted bothered that I called her to ask about a replacement filter. If they are going to managing the rental for the house owners they need to have these things in stock…needless to say, we had to go buy bottled water for the entire week bc they never replaced the filter.

Perfect Location for Exploring the Canaan Valley and Dolly Sods

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: It's hard to recommend a place you want to continue to go to every year...will someone else get there first? Well, I highly recommend CR Mountain Home as the perfect location to explore and hike the Canaan Valley region. A superior golf course is 10 minutes away, you're 20 minutes from Davis and 25 from Blackwater Falls and Thomas. This property is perfect - two baths and 3 full bedrooms. The master suite has a new mattress, the fireplace, grill and hot tub are ready to enjoy. A new outdoor bench with gas-powered fire pit faces the sunset. The property is in superior condition, well-maintained and within 20 minutes of Cafe Milo and Sirianni's in Davis...also the local coffee shop is really great. This is a great place to stay! Highly recommend using Best of Canaan as your rental agency - they are warm, helpful and will do everything to accommodate extensions and emergencies. Best of all, their prices are WAY below the on-line services most use!

Reviewer Comments: Perfectly situated between Thomas/Davis and Dolly Sods and Elkins, this home provides a quiet, relaxing base for all of your mountain activities. Can't say enough about the furnishings, beds and linens, fireplace, gas stove, washer and dryer, dishwasher, view from the porch and two and 1/2 baths! The kitchen is well provisioned - you should bring your own lotions and shower gel, paper products, cooking oils and seasonings. The golf course at Canaan Valley is challenging but great - walking or with cart! Many excellent restaurants nearby include Sirianni's in Davis for their pizza, The FORK in Elkins, Farm up Table in Thomas and countless others in the local area. If you ski, CR Mountain Home is located right next to Timberline. Donna and her crew at Best of Canaan have brochures to guide you to attractions and will send you 10 pages of things to do in the local area. Highly recommend Mountain Rail WV excursions -- the New Tygart Flyer and Cass Scenic Railroad. SO much to do, SO little time!! Enjoy!

Beautiful Get-Away Lodge in a quiet setting.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We stayed three nights and four days at the CR Mountain Home Lodge. There were four of us. Myself and my husband and our brother and sister-in-law. It is a beautiful home but we called it a lodge in keeping with our Mountain exploring adventure. It was so easy to day-trip around the Davis area and return each night to chat and relax at the lodge home with it's beautiful gas fireplace and hot tub. So much better than going back to a hotel room. Day one week visited Black Water Falls and surrounding area. And also went through the Wildlife Refuge. Great trails. Day Two saw us climbing Seneca Rock. Another great trail. Not too steep with all of the switchbacks but the use of our trekking poles was much appreciated. Visited the Seneca Caverns in the afternoon as well as drove to the top of Spruce Knob. The views are breath taking and SO WORTH seeing. Day three was off to Dolly Sods-another breath taking experience. Although the drive to the top of Dolly Sods was a little anxious as it is a one lane in and one lane out. Pray for courteous drivers. Parking is a little sketchy during peak hours. Don't skip Dolly Sods for any reason - parking aside, we loved it!We were on our own time frame and stopped at many small shops and family restaurants. We were there in September 2020. It was takeout only during the week due to Covid restrictions but dine-in with masks on the weekend. It is definitely a small town America experience. The folks are kind and the area is beautiful. We can't wait to go back!!
