About this property

SRC-Hudson Valley/Berkshires Cultural Corridor

We welcome you to explore the magic of Sunset Ridge Chalet (aka SRC). Ideally situated within the Hudson Valley/Berkshires cultural corridor, SRC offers unparalleled panoramic sunset views of the mountains. Sitting on 7 private acres the Chalet offers our guests the unique opportunity to disconnect from their busy lives and reconnect with themselves, family, or friends. Imagine starting the day with sunrise yoga on the mahogany deck and ending it with sunset cocktails on the same deck.
The space
To be clear, this is not a peekaboo view; this is a mammoth view! The Chalet was designed in 1998 to take every advantage of its remarkable setting and was completely renovated in Fall 2022. Highlights include a brand new kitchen, a new en suite master bedroom, a self care nook with yoga supplies, and all new bedding, light fixtures, furnishings, and kitchen utensils. SRC sits majestically on 7 hilltop acres and offers stunning mountain views.
Guest access
Guests will have access to the entire house and the entire property. Guests should realize that the driveway up to the property is a bit winding and steep at one point.
Other things to note
Sunset Ridge is your hilltop gateway to the Hudson Valley/Berkshire cultural corridor and our family’s dream realized. As such, we simply ask you to treat the house and the property respectfully. Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns so that they can be addressed during your stay. We want your time at Sunset Ridge to be memorable for all the right reasons.

Simply put, when we travel we love renting homes rather than staying in hotels. You remember the home rentals much more than the hotels. And we cherish the opportunity to share this amazing house with unbeatable views with others.

Why they chose this property

We really didn't know much about Canaan until a life long friend mentioned it as a perfect jumping off point for exploring both the Berkshires and the Hudson Valley. Places like Stockbridge, MA and Kinderhook, NY are so close we often will be in Stockbridge for lunch and Kinderhook for dinner

What makes this property unique

The local gentleman who came to survey the property awhile back volunteered that the views of the valleys below and the Catskill Mountains in the distance was one of the "best views in Columbia County." I'm partial, but I agree!
