About Emily Edgell
This place is a labor of love by a family with deep roots in Belize. My brother, sister-in-law and I have taken on this project together. Our aunt and her husband live in Placencia Village and other relatives live in Dangriga (Stann Creek District) and Belize City.

Comfortable, clean home close to attractions
We enjoyed our stay in the house, as well as the service and responsiveness of the owner and the local caretaker for the house. We were greeted warmly and on time, and were given explanations for use of the house and procedures for departure. Each room has an air conditioner, so it was comfortable during hot days. Difficult to find it because it's located at the end of a small, dirt road, but this is not unusual for homes on the Placencia peninsula. Kitchen has a large refrigerator and electric stove, but no dishwasher. No TV, which we didn't mind because we rarely use TV when traveling.
Great place to stay!
We enjoyed our time at the Casa Edgell. It was clean and well prepared for our arrival. Internet wasn't working when we arrived but the property manager worked hard on it with the local service provider and got it up & running the next day. Internet speeds were extremely slow, but that didn't matter much to us because we were hardly on it (I couldn't imagine going to Placencia to be on the phone/computer the whole time). The air conditioners were a welcome addition, and there is one in every room. Kitchen was stocked with all the basics needed for cooking simple meals. Will definitely stay here again!
Great alternative to expensive resorts
Had a very relaxing five days at Casa Edgell while visiting Belize for the first time. The rental is just far enough off the road to be private, while still in walking distance of resort hotels & restaurants. Locals were also helpful with logistics & getting to town. And a fantastic view to boot!
Casa Edgell is located on a short lane off the the Placencia Road, just south of Seine Bight Village on the Placencia Penninsula in the Stann Creek District.
The house faces the Placencia Lagoon, with a view of the mountains beyond. Our neighbor on the Lagoon is The Moorings, a yacht marina. Across the Placencia Road are two resort hotels: Laru Beya and The Inn at Robert's Grove.
All Belize beaches -- including those fronting hotels -- are open to the public. Guests of Casa Edgell are free to use the beach at The Inn at Robert's Grove. You may also use the pool there, as long as you plan to buy food or a drinks.
The house is a pleasant bike ride, short drive or taxi ride from the local airport and both Seine Beight and Placencia Villages.
Other Activities: Excursions to Maya sites, zip-lining, cave-tubing, whale-shark viewing. Snorkeling and diving excursions.
