I rarely leave anything less than a positive review, but I feel it’s important to share our experience. We reserved this property more than a year in advance for our son’s graduation, as it appeared to be a great fit for our family. We understood and accepted the non-refundable terms because the listing showed amenities such as a common gathering space that would meet our needs. The address provided at the time of booking also confirmed it was a convenient location, which was an important factor in our decision. However, two days prior to our arrival, we received check-in instructions that included a different address than the one originally listed. When I reached out to the host, I was informed that the apartment had been changed to a completely different building a few blocks away. Unfortunately, there had been no proactive communication to notify us of this change, which was both unexpected and disappointing given how far in advance the reservation was made. The response we received placed the responsibility on Vrbo, but as a host, there is visibility into upcoming reservations. At a minimum, a direct communication to guests with confirmed bookings would have been appropriate and appreciated.Additionally, the unit and property we were ultimately given did not reflect what was advertised in the listing. Overall, we were disappointed by both the lack of communication and the absence of accountability regarding the change in property.
