We had a wonderful stay! The my 4yo loved the toddler boat bed in the kid room. We also loved looking out the bay window every morning at breakfast. We would recommend and will be back!
Very comfortable place with lovely surroundings. Even though there were some weather damage repairs next door. Construction crews were very considerate and pleasant. Friendly and quiet neighborhood. Highly recommend this vacation home!
We loved the house between Dune lake and Lake Michigan. Beautiful walking trails and sunsets!

Great cottage with a fantastic location.
We had the opportunity to have an extended stay at this property. It is a very well maintained property and we enjoyed every day there. We enjoyed the beach when we could and it seems like you are in the middle of paradise and only minutes away from everything.

Yes it feel like the house is in a state park...but restaurants, the farmer market, art museums, county museum, golf, in land lakes, the drive-in and grocery shopping are all so close. Muskegon area is so fun in the summer
The cottage location is great! Willd life around the cottage is so much fun! Lots of deer & turkeys.
The beach is close and beautiful! Close to Muskegon and shopping.
The beach was greate it was nice and relaxing to set on the deck and enjoy the wild life both morning and afternoon there is a great trail behind the cabin for a nice hike
Great access to Lake Michigan beach and Dune Harbor Park
Nice 2 BR house in a wooded area with a few other homes. Very short walk to park and beach. Lots of wildlife. Dirt access road is well maintained. Short drive to great restaurants and shopping.
The home was cute with the needed furnishings. We love the bay window seating to watch the deer come and go munching on acorns. Short walk to the stairs to Lake Michigan.
We thoroughly enjoyed staying at this cottage in the woods. Very peaceful and serene. We also enjoyed watching deer and wild turkeys outside our windows. It was great to go to Lake Michigan w/o having to get into our cars and drive. Thoroughly enjoyed evening sunsets over the lake from the deck at the beach. Would definitely stay here again.
Great owner and communication! The location was serene and chill. Easy access to the beach—although there is no view of the lake from the property. There are excellent trails and other little lakes nearby to explore. It was wonderful to have various places to walk. Pere Marquette beach area is nearby with paid parking and amenities. The house is convenient to grocery stores and restaurants. It was also safe and in a private community. Some of the linens etc and furniture could be updated. Well appointed kitchen with everything you could need to cook. Drip coffee maker. I would def consider staying here again—great stay!
Very cozy! Lake Michigan on one side two smaller lakes for kayaking and to get some good vitamin D. Lots of wild life . We were lucky no one was n the cabin behind us so it was super quite will be going again sometime.
Our stay was more than we hoped for! I was looking to relive my childhood experiences of staying with my family in a cottage on Lake Michigan. This hidden gem did not disappoint! From the ease of booking, to the welcome call from the owner to provide us with info and tips, to the informational check-in, to the cabin itself, to the semi-private beach, to the deer and turkey watching right outside our door, it was all wonderful! A quick jaunt from the cabin through the woods took us to a beautiful 2 mile walk around Dune Harbor. A quick 15 minute drive to Grand Haven. So many other places nearby, but the cabin and beach were enough for us most days! We will definitely be back!
This cottage is just as described, wooded area off the beaten path but close to civilization. Our family had a wonderful vacation here and loved it! Communication with our host and check in was easy and pleasant.
The place is clean and cozy and decorated nicely.
The short walk up the hill to the first deck overlooking the beach below is perfect for an evening watching the sunset. Steps down to the sandy beach below are many, but well built. People on the beach were friendly and the sand is soft.
The large front deck with table and chairs has a large propane grill.
The kitchen is ready to prepare food and the bay window with seating affords a view to the sunrise, barely visible through the trees on the hills that surround this place where deer and turkeys wander.
Ample seating in the living room and a large table for family meals in near the entrance. We didn't use the sleeper there but it's big enough for 2 people.
Master bedroom king size bed is firm but the foam top is very comfortable.
Second bedroom has a cute toddler boat bed, upper bunk and convenient full size bed.
Bathroom and laundry are convenient and loads of towels for bathing.
This was the first time at this property for vacation, loved that it had a private beach and able to watch the sunset nightly. We already booked for next year😀.

So glad you totally enjoyed your family time. Glad you have booked already...it is nice to have a vacation all year to look forward too.
If you bring your bikes next time, be sure to check out the bike trails that gives access from Pere Marquette Park to over one hundred miles of paved bike trails.
We love coming to W Michigan every summer, renting a house for a week. Even more so now w 2 babies. This house was a clean, rustic, quiet spot. In a private community that’s isolated from the main tow, right behind the lakeside dunes. The stair access to the lake was washed away, but only about a 1/4-1/3 mile walk (partially thru the woods) to get to private, isolated, quiet beach. The HOA beach was, honestly, nicer than going to the public ones, no crowds, at most only 1 other family down there, and was a doable walk for our 2 year old.
The neighbors in the association were pretty welcoming, the next door neighbors were also from Chicago (and apparently had the cabin in their family for ~100 yrs).
The house itself was what we’re looking for. A simple cottage for the babies and us. Quiet at night. Short walk to the beach because with a 2 month old infant, we’d need to ensure we could easily shuttle b/w the beach and home for an emergency. Big gas grill which we used most nights. A lovely firepit which we didn’t use because we honestly had no time b/c of the babies, but if they were older we definitely would’ve set up for s’mores a couple of nights.
A nice part is the backside of the private community is a big, privately owned lagoon (Norton Sand Co) that separates you from the main town. So it’s quiet. But just a 5 minute drive to get into town and only 7-10 minutes to Pere Marquette beach and the restaurants there. Downtown Muskegon had a bunch of nice shops, vendors, and restos. The town is trying hard to make it a social district where you bring out your family on a weekend day or evening (sand volleyball, cornhole, picnic tables, open containers, lots of food vendors).
And Kim was VERY accommodating w our pooch. We made sure to keep up w cleaning/vacuuming during the week for his shedding, the house has all the cleaning supplies you need, and check in/out was very easy.
Definitely will come back w the babies.
We very much enjoyed our stay. Beautiful, woodsy setting, atop dunes. Short walk & climb down a short dune to a ( mostly) private sandy beach right on Lake Michigan.
My family had a great stay at this house! It had enough room for us and our two teens. Loved the plenty of seating to enjoy the campfire and playing board games. The house is tucked away in the woods bud still very close to town and beaches. It was great seeing the many deer and turkeys that you can see from any vantage point.
This house is wonderful! It was sparklingly clean when we arrived. It was just as advertised with very cute and comfortable furnishings. The stairs to the lake had been recently repaired and went right down to the lake. The location of the house is fantastic, close to everything, including the big public beach on Lake Michigan. We had all the room we wanted, were very comfortable, and loved the house!! The property managers are extremely gracious and wonderful!! I cannot wait to go back next summer! I would highly recommend this house to anyone looking for a roomy, comfortable hideaway in the woods. It cannot be beaten!!

This is the second time I've stayed at this property and I enjoyed it each time. The house is clean comfortable and has everything someone would need. The backyard has a fire pit and plenty of chairs for campfires and making s'mores. I would definitely recommend this property!

Fun week at the beach!
My wife, daughter and I and our family stayed here for a week and had a great time. It was really nice to have our dog with us, however the beach is shared and some of the other people at the beach did not care for dogs. Beach is amazing, albeit it quite small so if multiple families are on the beach it does feel crowded. Cottage itself is very comfortable. Owner is very responsive and took care of the few issues we had in a timely manner. Overall, we had a great time!

Sweet Beach Retreat
We recently had the pleasure of spending a week at this wonderful home. It couldn't have been any better. The house is set in secluded woods in a very quiet setting. The house has everything you could need for a family vacation. The owner was very accommodating and made sure we had everything we needed. We have vacationed in Michigan several times and never had access to what I would call a private beach. The beach access is only a couple 100 yards away from the home and it is awesome with breathtaking sunsets. The location allowed us to also make a couple college visits to WMU and MSU. We would jump at the chance to stay here again and would recommend this house to anyone that wants to have a relaxing vacation in a very cozy home with a private beach!
