The house needs love, very old, I think it needs a deep cleaning the bed mattress needs replacement, i looked like the hadn't done the beds properly. The only good thing is that is very close to the beach. Needs upgrades.

We had a fabulous stay and wonderful weather. Two parents and 4 kids. We had plenty of space, the kitchen was well-equipped and easy to use, the living room on the top floor was comfortable and had great morning sunshine. Pool was great for kids and sunning, and beach access was so easy. Easy bike path access to the village, beaches, and fishing spots. Hosts were great. No complaints and we hope to visit again! A great vacation!

Nice house, but needs some tlc. Appears to be heavily used and needs some repair. Light bulbs burned out and need to be replaced, furniture and beds overused/wornout. Good location and easy access to the beach and pool. Parking easy.

We had such a great experience renting Harold and Melissa’s place! The location is excellent - from the pools in the neighborhood, to the beach access and tons of nearby restaurants. We are already talking about when we can come back!

Enjoyed our stay!

The property made a great place for our family to gather for Christmas. It has great access to the beach, 1/2 mile from some great restaurants/ shops and is not far from the main downtown area. We would like to come back when it gets a little warmer so we can enjoy all that this property and the island has to offer.

Lovely home

We really enjoyed our time. Great location loved the multiple floors that offered space, comfort, and privacy, while also being together with family. Close to public access beach and private beach.

Island paradise

We absolutely loved our stay at St. Simons and your home. It felt like we were in a tree house. Great central location excellent for runs, bike rides and walks. We look forward to a return.

House was decorated nicely, and the host was prompt with an air conditioning problem on the upper floor. The location is good, but you are on the corner of two roads. Ample beach chairs and a wagon to use for the beach. In the front yard there has been a new deck area built, but there are some stepping stones that are uneven and caused a fall with our party- no one was hurt. It just needs attention. However the house needs some updates: dining table is a little rickety, dishwasher racks are rusted, so we never used it. There were no blinds in several of the windows, Kitchen is small with limited counter space. Bathroom shower heads water pressure is low. Rugs & floors in kitchen & den need some extra cleaning.

Unique Home!

The uniqueness about this property is the living room. With its incredible ceiling detail, and given the shape of the room, you feel as though you're inside of a lighthouse. The location was perfect and close to everything we wanted to do! We had a wonderful time, thank you!!

Wonderful!

We are a family of 5 adults and 2 children. This beautifully furnished house has plenty of space for our entire family to spread out. The owners are so nice and always respond immediately to any questions we might have. The beauty of St. Simon's Island and the beauty of the Mariner Cottage make this a perfect vacation place for us.

Excellent stay at the mariner cottage

We came down in the off-season to attend the gator bowl in Jacksonville. Communication with Harold was very easy and the house was as described and very nice. The top floor with the wall of windows was beautiful with awesome views of the trees and marsh. We also enjoyed some outside time on the porches. The house was well equipped with all of the necessities. The elevator came in handy as it is multiple flights to get to the top floor. All in all, we would definitely stay again.

Very nice house. Lower bathroom has minimal water pressure so shower was very slow. Generally a fine property that is looking a little tired. Could use a refresh.

Lovely home in a perfect location

We enjoyed this beautiful home for a girls weekend in February. It’s in a lovely location; a short drive into town and only a stones throw from the beach. Having an elevator was especially helpful since the kitchen and living space is on the third floor. Kitchen was well stocked. Beds were comfy with luxurious linens. Our only disappointment was the towels. Although plentiful, they were discolored and worn. We would definitely come back and hope to do so when we can take advantage of the lovely pool and beach access.

Overall, we enjoyed the house, which has a fourth floor kitchen and very inviting living room. There’s a covered porch with a swing and seating that was a wonderful place to relax. Three stair cases kept us active—though it’s likely most all of the Coast Cottages are multi-stories. We chose this house because an elevator is helpful for our daughter who requires physical support with walking. As a note, I appreciated that it made it possible for her to get up and down to participate with everyone. The layout was sufficient for her needs, just less than ideal. This is our second stay in one of the Coast Cottage homes. It’s a sweet spot and walkable to the beach. The pool area and boardwalk make getting there easy. This home is about five minutes from the lighthouse and shop area. The WWII museum (formerly Coast Guard building) is visible from the house and a very walkable distance. Restaurants we enjoyed this visit were Fiddlers (the grouper and all dishes were fantastic), Certified Burgers and Beverages (a happy accident daytime meal), and Iguanas (our grandkids’ favorite).
