GUEST INTERACTION:

We have a local property manager that lives in the area and is available to address any questions that guests may have.

NEIGHBORHOOD:

The home is adjacent to the Crystal Highlands community, which is an upscale residential development just north of Crystal Lake. The home is on a cul-de-sac at the very end of the development and and bordered on one side by the Embayment Lakes Nature Preserve, which contains 2.3 miles of trail and over 166 acres of land, making the environment extremely quiet, peaceful, and serene. There is also a public hiking trail that is available for guests to use and is located just down the hill from the home.

There are a number of great attractions in the area! The start of Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore is just minutes away from the home. Old Indian Trail, only 3.1 miles from the home, is a popular hiking trail in the park and runs through forests next to Lake Michigan and includes public access to Lake Michigan itself. Sleeping Bear Dunes also features a vast array of additional hiking trails, biking trails, incredible views, dune climbing, and tubing, kayaking, or canoeing down the Platte River through the park and out to Lake Michigan.

The home is also very close to Crystal Lake and the cute little beach towns of Frankfort and Beulah, featuring cafes, restaurants, shops, microbreweries, golfing, and child-friendly beaches.

Lake Michigan is just a short drive from the property and there are a number of beaches on Lake Michigan that are within a 30-minute drive from the home. The beaches range from touristy Frankfort Beach in downtown Frankfort (which is great for people watching, dogs, beach volleyball, and walking out on the pier to the Frankfort Lighthouse) to more secluded and less-populated beaches such as Elberta Beach, Esch Beach, Platte Beach, and the beach at the Point Betsie Lighthouse. The charming village of Empire is also less than half an hour away, with a beautiful beach, shopping, restaurants, and local chocolate shop Grocer’s Daughter.

If more excitement, shopping, dining, and nightlife are desired, downtown Traverse City is only a 50-minute drive from the home and it is the jewel of northern Michigan shopping, dining, entertainment, and nightlife.

GUEST ACCESS:

Guests have access to the entire property except for an owners' closet on the first floor and the garage (which is locked off from guests).

THE SPACE:

The home is very relaxing charming and comfortable year-round with natural gas forced air heating for the winter and new central air conditioning for the summer. The home includes a very convenient main floor laundry room with a washer, dryer, and laundry sink. It also includes a mudroom, which is great for families. The home also has a very cozy wood fireplace in the living room that is available for guests to use.

The home is named after sandhill cranes, which are frequent visitors to the backyard and the lake. Bald eagles, turkeys, and other wildlife are often spotted on the property. The home is beautifully decorated with a lovely nature theme.
