A hidden gem

This little cabin surpassed all of our expectations. My kids were in heaven sleeping in the loft. It was the perfect size to get a good nights rest overnight before hitting the road again. I would highly recommend this special little place. If we are ever in this area again, we will be staying again.

Perfect Getaway

Perfect location to severel parks and hikes. Check in/out was easy. Communication was easy. In all this was a great experience and one we hope to do again in the near future. Woke up on the 3rd day to deer and turkey all around the cabin. So peaceful and quiet.

Always amazing stay!

We’ve been coming here now for 8 years and this was our 3rd stay with Canyonlands…cannot say enough how wonderful these folks are how amazing the cabins are! The location couldn’t be better, within an hour of every major park in southeast Utah, as well as decent proximity to Monticello, Blanding, Moab, and Cortez, CO. We absolutely love the folks maintaining these cabins and expect to be here again every year until we can finally build our own!

Beautiful stay in Canyonland!!!

I don't know how the host managed to have the herd of deer meet us at the property entrance but we thought it was a nice touch. The full September moon and sky full of stars was breathtaking! The cabin was beautiful inside and out. We would rate it as an excellent stay.

So relaxing. Perfect Location.

Everything about this place was fantastic. It is located between several national parks and on a ranch. What else could you ask for? So quiet and peaceful with perfect stargazing and wildlife all around! The cabin was spotless. Would definitely stay there again!

Hide away

Great rustic place away from busy places. Thoughtful outfit of the place and kitchen. Nice places to sit in- and outdoors. Star-gazing at night and beautiful sunrises in the morning. The loft is for young people

Outstanding Stay!

Don't know how the host managed to have small herd of deer meet us at the entrance but it was sure a nice touch. The night sky was full of stars with a full September harvest moon. The trip was to see Monument Valley but Canyonland Lodging was certainly worth seeing too. I would rate this as an excellent experience.

Mountain Cabin

I thought that the stay was excellent. Remote, loved the fire pit area, seeing wildlife. Very quiet neighborhood, very close to Canyonlands NP. Not having AC was rough, but got plenty cool at night. Utah is a great place to visit & having a secluded location to stay, just added to the charm.

Cozy Ranch Cabin

The Ranch Cabin has everything that you need. The design of the cabin makes great use of the space in it. The beds were comfortable and having a full kitchen available was helpful. It was also very clean with plenty of towels for our family of 5. Thanks for the great visit.

Awesome location and great place with charm for family

I was concerned about a singe bathroom for a family, but the layout was perfect. Separate access for the sink, shower, and toilet. Lots of charm and personal touch. Loved it. Would stay again.

Beautiful surroundings in a very comfortable cabin

It's a beautiful place with a view of the Abajo Mountains and near to lots of nature. Their were some malfunctions with the water heater, but it was fixed as quickly as possible. Owners were caring and attentive. Very peaceful and relaxing. We'd return on an another southern Utah road trip.

Cute little cabin in the mountains

This cabin is fully stocked and incredibly comfortable. We had 5 people and a dog but could have easily fit 5 more. We were 10 miles from Blanding and Monticello and easily situated for the National Parks (we visited Canyonlands). We did not meet the hosts, but they provided freshly baked muffins, which was a nice touch. Would recommend.

More than we expected. Absolutely lovely

What a perfect retreat after a long day hiking in Canyonlands. Also, a short drive which helped us out a lot. The property is beautiful and you will have tons of privacy. The home itself is like new and sparkling clean. All you need is there to cook yourself a wonderful dinner, or enjoy your coffee while looking at the Aboho’s in your back yard!

An Excellent Place

We were very pleased with the location and cabin. There are multiple structures spread out over a 65-acre ranch. This was a very quiet place except to hear the highway in the distance which virtually disappeared at night. Cabin was very nicely furnished and very much in keeping with the theme of a "western" cabin. Only negative thing we can say is that the beds could be improved upon.

Rustic and Charming

We loved the rustic vibe of this property. It was clean. We enjoyed the fire pit and the sunsets. A little over one hour drive to Canyonlands and The Arches. The coffee maker is a drip pot with basket filters for those of you reading reviews to find out. The Wifi works great for those that cannot go completely off the grid. It gets dark late but seeing the stars is a must.

Great Cabin-Accurate Listing

The sign from the road is suppose to hang from the top over the wood frame entrance but is sideways leaning against the wood pole. We missed it a few time as we did not want to drive onto private land. A few cabins not too close by so that you have privacy. Quite and peaceful! Downstairs perfect for 2-3 people. Upstairs has a very low ceiling so perfect for children 6-13 years old. Portable air conditioner is noisy but we did not need it with the windows open. Cabin accommodated out dogs and was perfect for pets. We definitely recommend these properties! Thank you!!

About the host

Hosted by Jerry Murdock

Host profile image
Jerry and Tina Murdock built this Cabin for travelers to enjoy the Canyonlands area. We are the proud parents of many children, and even more grandchildren. We love riding ATV's and Jeeps on the trails, mountains, and canyons in the area.

Why they chose this property

This cabin has a full kitchen and living room/dining room areas along with plush sleeping areas. We are centrally located among 12 National Parks and Monuments. This beautiful cabin is secluded, quiet and private, yet is accessible to the highway for easy visits to sites of your choice, or just relax on the covered patio and enjoy the scenery and quiet. The sunrises and sunsets here are spectacular, and the star gazing is out of this world. You are sure to enjoy the cabin and all of its western luxuries.
Thank you,
Jerry and Tina Murdock
