About Jenny and David Freestone
Jenny and David are expatriate Brits who have lived in Washington DC for the last 15 years. Being close(er) to the Caribbean has allowed them to spend more time in Antigua
Jenny and David Freestone purchased this Villa in 2002
Why Jenny and David Freestone chose Falmouth Harbour
We lived in Antigua during the 1980s and loved it. We have been returning regularly since then and have been looking at property, In 2002 we fell in love with Shell Villa at first sight. It is right on the ocean, with unbelievable views over the undeveloped south of Antigua and across to the neighbouring island of Montserrat - home to an active volcano some 12 miles away. We are far enough away to never feel ill effects but close enough to enjoy the wonderful sunsets it generates. Shell Villa is set in a third of an acre and the garden is one of our joys - allowing us to grow palms and other tropical plants. In our absence the house is looked after by an English couple - Clare and Nathan - who live locally and a team of wonderful helpers - Daphne our Dominican maid and 'Juicy' our Antiguan gardener - sometime winner of Antigua farmer of the year.
What makes this Villa unique
Shell Villa is literally on the ocean. In 2006 we built a deck which takes us right to the high water line of Turtle Bay - wonderful for sunbathing and also for sipping cocktails and watching the sun set, as well as star gazing after dark. The sound of the waves is always there - soothing and relaxing. They rock you to sleep at night and wake you each morning to a wonderful new day.
