There were 8 of us and it was comfortable. Few minor things that we would have liked to

The hot tub kept kicking the breaker, the spindles on the deck need to be repaired before a child falls through them. The bed upstairs was lopsided. We found dog feces in the basement. Had trouble with the code the last sat
No dishwasher tabs, shower curtain liner upstairs was ripped. The floors were dirty, cob webs were everywhere. The hot tub was great! There was no blinds on the front door window so anyone could’ve seen in the door. The lights downstairs didn’t work right. Upstairs bathroom needs a door. The deck needs replaced and the guard rails were missing so any child could have fallen through it. Bed upstairs is shot. Slats are broke underneath the mattress. Chairs aren’t sturdy in the dining room. Needs a new couch and love seat.
We stayed at the Virgil Cabin. The “other room” with the five beds is in a sort of basement but there’s natural lighting with the door to a balcony outside of it. Everything was clean and there were plenty of towels for everyone. We used the hot tub which was a welcome assistance to our sore muscles from our hiking adventures. Getting to the Smoky National Park was a 30 min drive and Gatlinburg was about 15-20. We were also a little slower than the average car though since we drove in a 15-seater van which was quite terrifying to get to the cabin during the dark and rain since there are quite a few winding loops and steep hills to get to our cabin. Our only complaint was that the 5-person room was significantly colder than the other floors, so would recommend bringing or asking for extra blankets if you get cold easily.

Recently stayed here on a short weekend vacation with my sister's family and our family together. There was plenty of room at this cabin to spread out. The upstairs bedroom is more of a loft and open to the below. The hot tub was nice to soak in after a long day out. There were plenty of signs warning of bears in the area. The final day as we were loading up the car had one visit and take the cooler that was outside for a few minutes, be mindful of your surroundings outside. We were pretty careful and this happened when we were loading up. Great cabin and really enjoyed the stay.
