The cottage is wheelchair and scooter accessible.♿ It is equipped with an AC for the hot summer months and a level 2 EV-Charger. Please note that in the event of a cancellation a minimum of $150 cancellation fee will be applied to cover any processing fees.
Please be advised, starting in 2021, it will be illegal to use wood-burning fireplaces and stoves between May 15 and September 15. Violators could be fined $10,000 for each day in contravention.

Please do not move any furniture.

We provide one duraflame fire log per night. Due to regulations and insurance guidelines, the fireplace cannot be heated with firewood. If you like additional fire logs, the Bowen Island General Store has always some in stock.

No Open Flames or Candles
For the safety of our guests and property, open flames (except the fireplace) and candles are strictly prohibited inside the cottage.

BBQ Use
Please clean the BBQ after each use and ensure that the propane tank is completely turned off when you are finished.

Captain’s Cottage is absolutely beautiful and in a stunning location. We had a great time as we needed a comfortable place while we went to and fro from our son’s wedding on a farm on Bowen Island. The house is spacious and very well equipped. Very comfortable beds and plenty of towels. It was great to spend time with our granddaughter on Pebble Beach while she swam and picked blackberries. Thank you for hosting our lovely few days in Bowen. A wonderful memory

Beautiful!

Celebrated with my girlfriends here and had a wonderful stay! The beds were SO comfortable and we loved how we could walk into town if we didnt feel like driving. Also super close to the beach! Loved it!

We had a lovely time at the cottage. The views are phenomenal and the house is very well appointed. There are many spots to lounge outside if the weather is nice, and we ate most meals on the patio. The grill was great to cook up some salmon we caught and the property had all the proper pots, pans, and kitchen utensils. Our host was very communicative and checking in was super easy. The location cannot be beat as it is a 15 minute walk to the Snug Cove ferry and close to all the shops in town. We also enjoyed a great hike around Lake Killarney that was walking distance from the property. The one negative was that the house had lots of flies inside; a problem that didn't get resolved while we were there. We appreciated that the host dropped off some bug spray but it was ultimately a bigger problem with a dead animal in the ceiling that bug spray couldn't fix. I think it was bad luck on our end but I would message the host before booking just to make sure it's been resolved.

Thank you for staying with us and for sharing your feedback. We sincerely apologize for the issue with the flies during your stay. Unfortunately, it was only after your check-out that we were made aware of the specific area where the flies appeared to be coming from. Upon immediately investigating, we discovered a deceased bird in the attic above that part of the house, which was the unexpected source of the problem. It was promptly removed, the affected area was thoroughly cleaned and inspected, and we made sure that everything was back to normal. This was a very unusual and unfortunate occurrence, and we truly wish we had known the source sooner so we could have addressed it during your stay. Thank you again for being our guests, and we hope you otherwise enjoyed your time with us.

Sweet cottage with a great view

Chris’s place is so adorable and clean and calm. If you want a relaxing stay on Bowen ideally located near the village but far enough away to not hear the tourists, this is the place! Thank you so much, Chris- our stay was exactly what we needed!

Enjoy comfort home with good view

the very important part is the the home quite comfortably with our wheelchair lady… therefore we can enjoy our vacation! very enjoy the view around. kitchen have all we need for our cooking for dinner…we may cone again!
