Great place

Excellent Place

When me and my family got to the house we were all saying that pictures does this place no justice. Everything from the back porch by the lake to the spacing this place provided was way better than we expected. The area is quiet, safe, and isolated. Just because careful of the ditches on the narrow road getting to the house. Besides that you will enjoy your stay here. It’s a 20/20 in my personal opinion.

Moving

The Internet in the house did not work and so none of the televisions were available. I’m presuming that the lighting fixtures were being changed out. We tried to get the smoke detector in the master bedroom to quit beeping by changing the battery, but that didn’t work. It was very hot in the bedroom end of the house And in the bedroom over the garage. The shower in the master bath was not installed correctly, so it was very hard to get hot water and it only came from the handheld wand not the actual showerhead. The shower stall in the master bath was not clean. I would say this house was a work in process and not ready for rental.

Broken Air conditioners

The house was beautiful. Outside was not well kept and cleaned. Upon arrival, the house was 91 degrees. It had three air conditioning units. Two were not working. The host called someone out and he finally fixed one of the units at 10 PM. It took a long time to cool the area of the house where we sleep. He could not fix the ac unit to the upstairs bedroom, so we were out of a bedroom to sleep in. We woke up the next morning and left for the morning. When we got back, the ac in the entire house was broken! It was hot and muggy. In South Louisiana, we need air in May. After being on the phone with RBO for over an hour and a half, sending multiple pictures, etc. they finally agreed to let us check out and would reimburse me for one of the two nights stay after I submit a receipt from Expedia for hotels. I submitted the receipts right after booking and have not received a refund yet. We should be refunded the entire amount due to the inconvenience of the air the first day and then again second. Also, we found a Walmart bag of empty wrappers on a ledge. The recessed lights in the second living room did not work. When the AC guy came, he told us that the lights only go on by remote and they ordered a new one, so we had to move a lamp in the room to see. This house has so much potential but until they get some things fixed, it's not worth the money... including the high cleaning fees.
