What a wonderful retreat! This home sat high on a hill and had lovely views in all directions. It was convenient to Cherokee and Waynesville, easy to get to along a beautiful winding road, secluded from neighbors, and super comfortable. Our host, Debbie, was a pleasure to work with. A perfect long weekend for my husband and I, plus my mother and chihuahua (Percy). On our list for a return visit!
A beautiful home with dreamy views!
Pet friendly - lots of ground to explore.

The cabin is absolutely beautiful and the property is breathtaking. The cabins are so spaced out that you feel you are alone. Yet, it is close to everything. Even close enough to town foe Door Dash.

Loved the views!

The only complaint would be the hilly terrain into and out of the cabins. But it is the mountains right? Other than that it’s VERY close to the Casino which is what our trip was about. The cabin was , well a rented often cabin, but cute and in great shape. Would stay again.

Slice of Mountain Heaven

The Oakes was exactly as advertised. A perfect log cabin for 4 adults and 2 Goldendoodles. Centrally located with just a 10 minute ride to Harrah's, 15 minutes to Dillsboro and Sylva, 25 minutes to Waynesville and Maggie Valley, just a great location to explore the area. The only downside, you may not want to leave the peace and quiet of the cabin!

Everything you want, except

The cabin is everything I wanted for the weekend. The location, view… it had it all! It’s fully stocked with everything you need plus more. Even supplied wood for fire pit and items to make smores. It was a clean place unless you looked up or down. Needs cleaning in corners, behind doors, ceiling fans, beams. I know some are higher up for routine cleaning, but I don’t think they’ve been cleaned in years. And finally, I wanted to give 5 stars because it truly was perfect weekend, but kindness goes a long way. I understand rules are rules and the check in states 4 pm for cleaners, etc, but our google maps was way off and Waze had up arriving almost 2 hrs sooner. We asked if early arrival possible and a clear stern response was given of check in is at 4! We went on ahead, excited to see the location, unsure of location and the ladies had to visit the bathroom , but no dice, not able to arrive early. But no one was there still cleaning and I thought it would be nice to be accommodating since no reason it couldn’t happen, except rules are rules. But they also are made if the time is needed, but it was not needed this day. Accommodate your guests needs, when possible.
