The Falmouth cottage near Highland Lake is absolutely charming and so welcoming. The photos of the interior don’t do it justice- it is much roomier, brighter and warmer feeling than depicted. Everything you could possibly need in the unit is there from the kitchen amenities to the stacker washer/dryer. The host lives next door and is warm, welcoming and responsive to texts, though not intrusive by any means. Basics like shower water pressure is fantastic, the king bed is very comfortable and bedding is a classic Maine cottage quilt with cotton sheets/blankets. It’s heated/cooled by a heat pump so it has whole house A/C which is unusual for a lake cottage in Maine and a relief to come back to. The gardens outside are obviously lovingly tended and so pretty. Honestly I just wish I could have stayed longer to enjoy the lake and the setting as it was so peaceful. Well done all around.

Very clean and cozy. Although the house next door was close you would never have kniwn it. Very quiet neighborhood..Our hosts were very attentive abd easy to work with. Would definitely stay here again.

Pictures do not do this property justice; it is so nice. It is extremely well stocked with basic food and bottled water, cooking utensils, nice bedding, and TV with lots of viewing choices. It is very clean and a short walk to the lake which you can see through the trees from the kitchen window. Hosts are very helpful and accommodating.

The guest house was immaculate. Very clean. Great set up and layout. Comfortable bed. Communication with owner was prompt and easy. We had a great time relaxing, and visiting Portland. Highly recommend.
The lake is a few hundred feet away.

Super sweet cabin in a quiet area surprisingly close to Portland. Groceries and highway were only 10 minutes away, and the cabin itself is beautiful (the photos do not do it justice). Host is super communicative and had no issues with my stay. It was perfect for my wife and I, and we wish we could’ve stayed longer!

Stayed nights while in town for a wedding. Large in-laws apartment in the Maine woods. New building, very roomy and well appointed and maintained. Dead quiet deep in the woods. Walk across the gravel road from to the right of way down to the beach/lake. Way better than getting a hotel.

This is a very nice place to stay. It is within a very short walk to the lake access point. Kayaks are available for use as well as the paddles and life jackets. Louanne and Gail were very helpful with any questions that we had. There are many hiking trails nearby as well as shopping and restaurants. It is about a 25 minute drive to the hospital in the event you need to go there for any reason. It was a very nice stay!
