Tranquil Buck Lake Cottage-8 Guests- Winterized-Star Gazers Dream!

Peaceful, spacious year round cottage on Buck Lake. 107 private feet of sandy shoreline, WIFI, extensive dock and patio at the beach front, great for young kids. This beautiful lake is perfect for water skiing, tubing, canoeing, kayaking or swimming. The area offers many golf courses, hiking trails, snowmobile and ATV trails right from the cottage. Huntsville has fantastic shopping and restaurants. Arrowhead Park is 25 min away and has beautiful Nordic ski trails and skating. Sprucedale is a 9 minute drive and has marked hiking trails and a convenience store with groceries, LCBO, beer , propane and gas. The cottage has two large bedrooms in the upper section that are pine lined and quiet. The main level has open concept kitchen, dining and living space with a great view out to the lake with large new windows. The downstairs has a sitting area and games room (pingpong and foosball) all open concept. Bathrooms are on the main level and basement. 2 other bedrooms are on main level and basement. Many board games and satellite TV are included as well as all the firewood you would like to use indoors or at the fire pit by the water. Be amazed by the dark night sky that provides opportunity to enjoy the hosts of stars that come alive. It is truly amazing! Lakeside is a small pine lined and powered bunkie cabin at the waters edge,as well, that sleeps your extra guests or the teenagers. You will love staying at this cottage, lapping up the heat from the woodstove, after a day outside in the winter or sitting by the bonfire in the evenings of the summer. Your group will not be disappointed.

After a few hiccups finding the place, we arrived to find a very clean, well-appointed cottage with a well-stocked pantry, extra blankets, and a lovely dining room table that seated everyone with room to spare. Although the weekend was rainy, it didn't matter - everyone was comfortable and had a great time.

nice get away

My family stayed for three days at the cottage and it was as described and as in the pictures. We were lucky for good weather and enjoyed the lake and the having a camp fire.I would recommend this cottage to everyone if you want quiet and private time to enjoy.

We had a great Christmas vacation. The cottage was spotless, and the communication with Kirk was excellent. The location is awesome. We had plenty of snow we spent six days in the winter fairyland. We will definitely be back soon.

Cozy Cottage Comfort

Stayed at this cozy cottage over the Thanksgiving weekend. Cottage was very clean and offered all the amenities and comforts of home. Lots of space and comfortable beds. The wood burning stove added a nice touch and was well used due to chilly temps. TV reception and internet were spotty at times. The deck and stairs could use some TLC. There is a quick slope down to the lake which is not as visible via pics online. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend visiting.

Great cottage

We had an amazing weekend at the cottage. The wood stove kept the main and upper floor warm until morning. We used the heater downstairs and it was warm and comfy there too. Let Kirk know about the DVD and TV problems and he's fixing that. TV satellite still worked but no movies. Renters with kids may be a bit disappointed if they expect to watch a few movies, so needed to mention that. Great cottage with a beautiful view of the frozen lake. Kirk's the best host I've dealt with and I've rented a lot the last 10 years. He called me while I was driving up there to make sure we weren't lost. Thanks again and all the best!

Amazing Cottage.

Our stay at Kirk and Krista’s cottage was amazing. It was very spacious with lots to do for all ages. It has everything you could possibly need. From the washer and dryer to even a dishwasher. The kitchen was very well stocked and the BBQ was great as well. From the sunrise on the dock to the campfires near the lake, we couldn’t have imagined a better getaway for our family. Would definitely recommend this cottage, and we hope to return again. Thanks so much Kirk and Krista!!

Great place, awesome waters

Nice cottage with a huge backyard that goes right into the water. Kirk was a responsive and helpful host. He's a got a fishing boat for rent which you can take out into the waters. The dock in the backyard is a cool fishing spot! Our family had a fun time, the cottage is well stocked with what's needed for a family cottage trip.

Very nice place

We stayed at the cottage for Victoria day long weekend, Kirk made sure that the deck is installed for our arrival. Everything was wonderful, the cottage has it all: dishwasher, washer, dryer, 2 washrooms and even foosball and Ping Pong tables, that we enjoyed. The basement is nice , my kids were sleeping comfortably down there. The bunkie is not really useful to have some guest staying there. Water was nice enogh for kids to wet their legs, I believe the water will be warm in summer. The lake is not huge, but beautiful and big enogh for a nice boat ride , fishing or tubing. Reception was not great and internet is a bit shaky when its really cloudy, but the satellite tv was was working spotlessly. Overall great host, great place, recommended!!

Favorite Getaway Destination

This is my second time renting this amazing cottage and we absolutely love it! Kirk is a great host and responded to all our questions before and during our stay. The cottage is spacious and comes with lots of indoor and outdoors entertainment options and the lake view is AMAZING! It’s so quiet and peaceful and feels like you have your private lake.

Amazing long weekend!

My husband and friends have a tradition to go up to a different cottage every Victoria Day long weekend and this was a gem. There was something for everyone to do from playing ping pong to enjoying the lake. Inside, the cottage was very well organized with clear instructions on how to locate anything you might need. The cottage itself was surrounded by many trees for those looking for solitude. Great stay.

Kirk and Krista Horsfield bought this Buck Lake cottage in 2011, situated only 30 minutes from their home in Huntsville so they could go there without planning too big. We both live and work in Huntsville and have done so for 29 years.

What makes this property unique

Views out to the lake from all the windows. Cozy woodstove in the great room. Flat level yard for all those summer activities like croquet, badminton and volleyball. Great mix of sun and shade areas to sit in your preferred weather. Guests will have excitement playing ping pong and fooseball in the games room.
