This was a storybook experience. Just dripping in Napoli history. Dont stay if you need modernity and precision. If you love art, history, and charm, this is it. It is in a gritty part of the city, or maybe that’s all of Napoli. It is very loud from street traffic and flight traffic. Absolutely take the tour of the palace — it was most memorable for us.

The apartment is located within walking distance of all the major places to see. We enjoyed the National Museum, cappuccino at Poppella with croissants, pizza at Concettina Ai Tre Santi, and dinner at Osteria Gentile. The host was helpful with an overview and suggestions for our visit.

This is a true insight into the life of aristocracy of the past. Francesco is a charming host who welcomed us into his family home. We had breakfast and lunch on the large, sunlit terrace high above the hum of Neapolitan life. In the heart of historic Naples, there are excellent restaurants literally next door. Accommodation is spacious and secure accessed by your own private elevator.

A wonderful apartment within the most incredible palace in the centre of the historic district. The hosts were so welcoming and responsive to any queries. We particularly enjoyed our tour of Donna Paola's home and learning about the history. The terrace overlooks the busy street but it is a peaceful haven for relaxing at the end of sightseeing. We walked everywhere and visited all of the amazing Caravaggio paintings but also loved the catacombs and Subterranean Napoli.

Incredible & very special place

It was like stepping back in time to stay in this beautiful apartment which is in part of what was a palace. It felt really special. Amazing to be shown around the rest of the palace too, by Paola. The location is really good - right in the best part of the historic centre and next to the most amazing pizza restaurant which our kids especially adored. Thank you Francesco & Paola!

This is unique property for those who value history and a location that is a neighborhood, rather than bustling with tourists. The hosts have enumerated the history of the palace in their guide and graciously invited us to see the other parts of the palace. Please be sure to shut the heavy interior window closures at night because the street noise is often loud if you do not. It is not often one has the opportunity to stay in a palace where a Saint was born.

Old Naples

Classic, beautiful apartment like stepping into another age, unlike any other place that we stayed in beautiful and tasteful .. Step outside into old Naples and experience life and culture. Walking distance to many great restaurants and sites and easy transportation by subway or taxi to other places ……highly recommend a unique experience.. Host is outstanding and extremely helpful Including a book of all the local sites and recommendations for dining, etc.

A historic and interesting property, yes, but real safety/fire concerns with a 3-story apartment where only a small, very antiquated elevator -- which barely fits two people -- is the sole access to the property for renters. In the owner's instructions, he warns that if elevator doors are not property closed on every floor of the building, the elevator "in case of emergency (will) remain blocked." Other exits/stairways are not available to guests in case of fire. Also, as 2 couples, we rented what was clearly billed as a 3 bedroom/2 bath apartment. The owner insisted we were entitled to 2 bedrooms & one small bathroom -- which required us to walk through one couple's bedroom at night to reach it. He asked for an additional 50 per night to get what we had paid for -- and rejected even our screenshot of the ad he himself posts.

Hosting a terrible guest and receiving one bad review for every 100 5-star reviews is a statistic, and it can happen. Stringing together one lie after another in a review, however, it's rare! Fortunately, I saved the chat in which we communicated. VERY SERIOUS: The guest, Carla, FALSELY presented herself as a TRAVEL WRITER to obtain some sort of benefit or special attention (not really needed as we welcome everyone with the same kindness and care). HER LIES: 1) In addition to the private elevator, there are also stairs to access the apartment (and the guest's cousin checked-in through the stairs). 2) The guest booked the apartment in December 2025, which then had two bedrooms and one bathroom. In April 2026, we carried out work to extend the apartment to include another large area, including one extra bedroom, one extra bathroom, and one extra studio/living room (and I showed Carla proof of the recent renovation/extension and that she booked before the extension). Once checked in, we kindly offered the OPTION to have this extra space for just a little extra, and they accepted and used the extra space for the entire stay. During the stay, Carla falsely alleged a small plumbing problem that we immediately took action to investigate and resolve, but she continually offered various excuses, preventing us from going to investigate and/or resolve the issue, which was not true. Carla left without paying any extra for the apartment extension and without even saying good bye.

The real side of naples

A great opportunity to see how Naples really works, Sanita the area is bustling and real but the apartment and real life princess literally live alive it Don’t go expecting some shiney 5 star apartment, it’s 600 years old and in places it shows Do expect a warm welcome from a grand lady who loves her city and her neighbourhood Francesco’s communications are great and this is a great way to immerse yourself in the city

Perfect Naples holiday stay

Coming to Naples? You'll need at least a week as there is so much to see and experience in the city and close by. Our lovely host Paola greeted us and gave us lots of ideas for itineraries. It was a privilege to be able to stay in her lovely historic home, and the apartment had everything we needed (though we choose to self cater slot). Excellent pizzeria next door, 1 minute walk to a fantastic gelateria, 2 minutes to an outstanding patisserie and lots of bread/veg/fruit sellers out from 9am to 8pm daily.en route to the nearest station Cavour (approx. 8 minutes on foot). Do stay with Paola, we loved the apartment...enjoy Naples!

Special venue

The apartment is full of beautiful furniture and art. The owners are great and very communicative, the (history of )the palazzo is amazing. It would be good for one couple to stay. We were staying with friends and to get to the toilet we had to walk through the other's bedroom, not ideal. The location is central which is good to go anywhere, but it comes with a lot of trafic noise. One does get used to that a bit because it is so constant... We came to Naples by car and it was great to be able to park the car on the terrain of the palazzo.

Great for some but not for us I’m afraid

The apartment is located in a 16th century palazzo in the center of Naples bustling old town. The charming hostess, Paola, shares an adjacent apartment and her family have owned the property since inception. The apartment has a nice big balcony and is full of impressive antique furniture. However, overall it’s rather shabby, rather unclean and the purported air conditioning…something of a must have in Naples in summer….is one mobile unit and lots of fans. As mentioned, the attractions of the property and its location in a (very!) vibrant neighborhood may be enough to outweigh its shortcomings but, sadly, not for us

Unique and characterful apartment

We loved our stay in the impressive Palazzo De Ligouro, and felt totally welcomed by the family. We were met by Francesco - who was in town while we were there, and later shown around by his mother Paola, who lives there full time. She was a fascinating lady who gave us a tour of the building and was very helpful in pointing us towards interesting things to see and do. The apartment itself is a wing of a much larger Palazzo - very spacious for a couple, but would also suit a family. There is a small kitchen that is simple but sufficient to cook a decent meal, and a very large terrace which is great for eating, sun bathing, and people watching. The building is right in the heart of the Sanita neighbourhood, which feels very Neapolitan - in the sense of it being noisy and chaotic - but also very safe and friendly. You get the sense that at one point it would have been completely off the map for tourists, but these days you see a few coming to visit the catacombs, and some of the churches in the area. We thought the Ipogeo dei Cristallini - a small Greek era underground mausoleum a short walk from the house - was particularly fascinating. One other great feature of the house is that it sits literally on top of one of Napoli's best pizzerias. Overall, thoroughly recommended! Though perhaps the area would be a bit noisy and energetic for some people who are looking for a more restful place to stay.

Nice apartment with old world charm. Perfect for historians and art lovers. We really enjoyed to rooftop outdoor space and US coffee maker. Air conditioners in bedrooms worked well, fans in larger spaces. We appreciated the elevator for heavy baggage. Private parking inside the home's gate. Sits above Concettina ai Tre Santi- we loved it so much we went several times! Also a short walk from Popella bakery and gelato. Please be aware that the neighborhood is quite busy, noisy and rough. Keep personal items and jewelry close or out of sight - NO streetParking anywhere on the streets and driving is NOT recommended. Franscesco was quite helpful and available. Might want to grab extra paper products (toilet paper, paper towels, etc. to have on hand while staying in the apartment.
