Great Location and Communication

Communication was excellent from beginning to end. The cabin is in an excellent location - in the middle of nowhere but 10 minutes from town. The bench seating in the porch area of the cabin would be more comfortable if replaced by some basic furniture, but it certainly didn't ruin the experience.

Wow we had the best time

Wow we had the best time ever! Great swimming and canoeing! Lovely cottage with everything we needed and more! We did learn one thing the fishing in August is not great because salmon and trout like cold water! One downfall was the steep descent to the cottage. With healthy knees it is a very cute cottage!

This small rustic home has so much potential! It seemed to be in mid-renovation so maybe that was why it wasn’t looking as cute as it should have been. It was incredibly clean and nicely stocked, both positives! I knew in advance that I needed my own drinking water but once there I was wondering how safe it was to bathe and rinse my toothbrush in it. I loved the availability of the kayaks and equipment, but the oven mitts were thin and I burned and dropped my meal when I took it out of the oven. It also would be helpful to have thicker pillows and more blankets available. Once renovations are finished, I would consider staying here again. It was very lovely staying right on the water, and I loved looking out the front window to see the lake and wildlife. (Eagles, loons and ducks!)

Oh gosh! We are so sorry to hear you burned yourself and will reach out to the owner about getting those mitts replaced!! Thank you so much for letting us know, we are sorry the home was not as put together as it should have been. We are glad that you enjoyed your overall stay and hope to host you again in the future!! Thank you for your communication and kind words!! Morton & Furbish Vacation Rentals

Beautiful setting on Loon Lake

Beautiful setting on Loon Lake and great location near Rangeley. The house has no TV, which is just what I was looking for for our mother daughter trip - gave us time to play lots of card games and Scrabble. I recommend the hike to Angel Falls. Just a note that the water access is really from the shore rather than the dock. . The dock is wide but short (square platform) and very high from the water - too high to climb down to get into the canoe for instance, and the water was too shallow where the dock ends to jump in from that height. This was fine for us since the shore access is not mucky. We really enjoyed our stray, the house had everything we needed. There is bench seating with cushions, like a window seat, which was comfortable but by the 3rd day we started missing a couch or comfy chairs to relax in.

Beautiful and serene

Tempel is a beautifully maintained older York-style cabin, which has been renovated and modernized to maximize the view to the lake, which is steps away--it feels light, bright and airy! Wonderful swimming, furnished with two great kayaks and a canoe. It is modern enough-- with a great kitchen/living space configuration--without loosing the summer cabin feeling. This is a great place for family and close friends. Those sleeping in the loft bedroom must go to the bathroom through the downstairs bedroom. People with walking difficulties will find the descent to the cabin challenging. Otherwise, it is the most wonderful place to stay! This summer was our sixth year renting Tempel and we love it.
