Historic 1860's updated 4 bedroom, 2 bath home

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry that aspects of your stay did not meet your expectations. Regarding the hot water issue on the first night, the pilot light on the water heater had gone out. Once we were notified, it was relit immediately and hot water service was restored. We also want to address the concerns about insects. The property is serviced regularly by a professional pest control company as part of our ongoing maintenance program. During your stay, we were informed by neighbors that an unauthorized party was being hosted at the home. Please note that parties are not approved or permitted at this property. We were also advised that the exterior door was left wide open for an extended period, with the interior lights on and the air conditioning running during a significant Illinois summer heat wave. Unfortunately, leaving doors open under those conditions will attract gnats and other flying insects into any home, particularly during the summer months. While we take pest prevention seriously and maintain regular pest control service, it is difficult to prevent insects from entering when exterior doors are left open for extended periods. We appreciate you bringing these concerns to our attention and will continue working to maintain a clean, comfortable environment for our guests.

We provided the guest with check in and check out details. The guest was arriving after midnight, lights were left on for easy access. We didn't receive any communication from the guest during her stay. I'm confused as to why she left only a three star review. The guest was attending an event 45 minutes away, so maybe she wasn't happy with location. If so, she chose the location so we can't help that.
