Carolyn and Matt were excellent hosts. The Treehouse was clean and charming. Some suggestions for needed Kitchen items was positively received and they were friendly and most responsive.
We immediately loved the atmosphere of the modern, bright and spacious room. Everything was clean. Our first night we did not sleep much because the bed was sagging like a hammock. Only then we found a pile of books under the bed which must have been intended to support the center of the bed, so we reconstructed them in two proper stacks and voila, sleep was much better...Smaller things like missing light bulbs in the fancy lamps, broken-off handles on the kitchen unit, a blocked door of the bathroom closet, the arbitrary collection of kitchenware etc were not as bad, but complete the impression that the place is just a little neglected.
The place could be 5 stars with a little effort. The review in May stated sagging bed, lightbulbs missing, cabinets without pulls. The owner responded indicating all these things had been fixed so we rented it. Well in October all these things were still an issue. Even if the mattress is NEW as she stated it still sags badly in the middle. We travel alot and it is the worst bed we've ever slept on. Dimmer switches would solve the lighting issue vs. taking out light bulbs. The broken trashcan was replaced promptly but I had to ask. I requested a queen size blanket & was given 2 throws-didn't fit the bed so were useless. And 6 months later the cabinet pulls were still missing. Little things DO matter. Again with a little TLC could be very nice. The neighborhood gets a 3 because it's safe enough but very challenging to maneuver the winding narrow roads, even for the Uber drivers.
